We all know the benefits of meditation, we all know we "should" be doing it, but Sara breaks down her simple theory as why we don't, and gives tactical examples if you're interested in introducing it into your life.  Sara breaks down the three types of people when it comes to meditating; The Resistors, The Cautiously Curious, and The Meditators. She’ll give a high-level overview of the benefits (the why,) but this episode is geared specifically to HOW to meditate. Sara will share her top four tips on how to approach meditation if you’re brand new to meditating.  She’ll share some personal details as to how she added meditation into her own life and the benefits she’s experienced by incorporating a simple meditation routine.  This episode is a great starting point if you’re interested in meditating and don’t know where to start.  Some of Sara’s favorites if you want to try on YouTube:  Kenneth Soares; 25 Minute Guided Meditation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT4zyGE6a5M Tony Robbins Morning Ritual: 14 Minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oig47qPc3y0 Also - Sara gives more details on Prospecting on Purpose LIVE; a Free Virtual Workshop: Friday, July 14, 2023, at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST.  GRAB YOUR SPOT NOW: https://connect.saramurray.com/pop    Connect with Sara:  www.saramurray.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/saramurraysales/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saramurraysales/ YouTube: www.youtube.com/@saramurraysales

Ep 25: The Importance of Remembering Names

One of the easiest ways to establish this positive connection and influence others quickly is to use people’s names! In today’s episode, Sara speaks to something near and dear to her heart, and her “secret sauce” to relationship-building, which is the ability to remember and use clients’ and colleagues’ names. In this episode, she will get into the psychology of remembering names, how we use them for influence, and how we differentiate ourselves as luxury sellers and companies with the inclusion of our client’s names.  “Remember that a person’s name is to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” - Dale Carnegie Literally since birth, we have been programmed to respond to the sound of our name. The use of a person's name connects us to our identity and our culture. If we can incorporate names in our interactions, we establish a quick and positive connection in a simple way.  Additionally, Sara is on a mission to remove the phrase, “I’m bad at names” from everyone’s vocabulary. She’ll give us alternative scripts that we can use if we do forget someone’s name, and strategic tools to help us remember people’s names from the first meeting.  Finally, she’ll give us some fun tips to practice in “low-stakes environments” which will most likely result in free drinks!  Save the dates for two upcoming virtual events with Sara:  Prospecting on Purpose LIVE Free Virtual Workshop: Friday, July 14, 2023, at 9 AM PST. Ep 24: The Winning 3-Minute Pitch

Sara recaps a sales pitch competition from a recent conference she attended in New York City, LightFair 2023. The large global architectural and commercial lighting event produced a two-hour session titled “Lighting Sales Stars.”  9 contestants (the sellers) 5 judges  (the clients) 3 minutes 2 products 1 winning pitch  Sara attended the event and shares an overview of the competition, the feedback from the judges, and her own takeaways from watching nine, back-to-back, 3-minute pitches.  Each contestant took a different approach to their pitch and it was interesting to see core themes that worked and surprising actions that did not impress the judges.  It was impressive to see sellers put themselves on stage and open themselves up to feedback from a panel of judges and a room filled of their peers. Everyone did a great job, and this competition served as an opportunity for each individual on stage to stretch and grow, along with the audience members watching, Sara included!  There is no right or wrong way to sell when it comes to our individual styles and our own personal brand of communication. Our authentic selves need to shine through along with practicing the balance of hard skills and soft skills. And, if you want to continue to practice, save the dates for two upcoming virtual events with Sara:  Prospecting on Purpose LIVE Free Virtual Workshop: Friday, July 14, 2023, at 9 AM PST Half-Time Event: Tues. Ep 20: Four Pillars for a Confident Mindset

A foundation of confidence will serve us in whatever we do in life, but especially in our careers. And it is a constant work in progress. The way we embrace a confident mindset is by understanding our values, our core competencies, the language we use internally and externally, and how we nurture our relationship with ourselves.  In today’s episode, Sara reviews the four pillars for a confident mindset. She reviews the common area where we trip ourselves up, ultimately the misunderstanding about the differences between confidence, arrogance, and ego. We discuss how understanding our values and strengths prevents second-guessing.. Second-guessing naturally leads to insecure or doubtful actions and wasted time. We’ll review other areas with examples of where unconfident behaviors sneak into our everyday life, and tools to increase awareness and how to overcome them.   Finally, confidence requires a relationship with ourselves first. The only way we can build authentic relationships that serve us in our personal and professional lives is to ensure our relationship with ourselves is solid.    STAY UP TO DATE!   connect.saramurray.com  More from Sara www.saramurray.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/saramurraysales/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/saramurraysales/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/saramurraysales YouTube: www.youtube.com/@saramurraysales
