158 #HowIMessenger: Reclaim Your Voice When You FEEL So Much with Veronica Marquez

The first few days of self-quarantine, Veronica Marquez was feeling EVERYTHING at the same time. Frustration, gratitude, guilt. The controlling part of her wanted to micromanage her kids. The victim part was upset that it seemed like everyone else had all this time to read books when, as a parent, she was even busier now with her two young kids at home. Veronica is co-founder of Dinner Confidential, a global community that explores the full spectrum of the feminine experience through intimate monthly dinners, with hosts in over 30 cities all around the world from Tokyo to Mumbai to Berlin to Rome to Latin America to Australia. Her tools? Connection and community. And that’s the Messenger Medicine she called upon to recenter her energy and find her voice. She got quiet and reconnected with herself, allowing all those emotions to be present. Then she organized a virtual gathering with a circle of friends which lightened her up with a sense of playfulness. Listen in to hear how she reclaimed her voice. We also talk about: How a desire to truly connect allowed her to move through the internal voices that said “Who am I to take up this space?” and “Am I being arrogant sharing this?”  Her framework for creating safe spaces where women can openly listen to different perspectives and for all those differences to be okay Why it took her years to post on social media because she didn’t want to contribute to comparison or making others feel less than… and how she found her voice on social media in a way that was aligned with her values Deeper support from me: What’s your Messenger Archetype? 156 #HowIMessenger: Going Radio Silent without the Guilt with Shawnrey Notto

When we got stay-home orders and the online space overflowed with voices offering support, my own voice felt the need to go SILENT. And so did Empowerment Coach Shawnrey Notto’s. Yet, as a leader, she felt the pressure to stand up and be out there for her people. For fifteen years, Shawnrey has used her roles as coach, speaker, professional dancer-choroegrapher, yoga instructor, emcee, and facilitator to create transformative experiences where women discover gifts and power they never thought they had, or thought they had lost forever. Her love is helping leaders tap into their sensual selves to be more embodied. …AND she instinctively knew what she needed was to be quiet and go inward before speaking out publicly. She could have judged that feeling or felt guilty. (I certainly did.) But she used her own work and connection to her message to give herself introvert time to come back to herself. …When, finally, she emerged from her cocoon, ready to use her voice, she intuitively knew what she needed to do to serve her people. Listen in to hear Shawnrey’s story. This is the first of a new #HowIMessenger podcast series. It’s my hope that hearing how other Messengers are coping with what’s going on and how it’s affecting them using their voices will help YOU stop beating yourself up and remain inspired, empowered to take action, and not feeling alone. 155 Being a Messenger During These Uncertain Times

Right now, many of us are experiencing things we’ve NEVER experienced. Empty grocery store shelves… quarantines… canceled events and closed doors (in 30 years, this is the first time I’ve ever seen the Vegas casinos close).  It’s surreal, isn’t it?  Our current global pandemic has brought so much uncertainty, and many Messengers I know have been feeling A LOT. If this has translated into uncertainty in how to use your voice, episode 155 of Unforgettable is for you. Because your voice is still needed… and it’s still heard. So listen in to my #perfectlyimperfect support to navigate times like these as a Messenger. I talk about: My exercise to tap into your Messenger Muse to channel what’s on your heart to say, even if you’re blocked How to lean into speaking up if you’re second-guessing yourself right now The wisdom in your Messenger Archetype’s strengths and shadow sides during these times Why you have permission to speak out OR stay private, no shoulds necessary Deeper support from me: What’s your Messenger Archetype? Take the quiz. Wish you had powerful emails, salespages, or a website that got results AND built relationships? 154 Why You Should Absolutely Contradict What You Said in the Past

If you’ve ever pivoted or evolved your messaging, you’ve likely wondered… Should I avoid contradicting what I said before? I’ve got a sea of content about my old topic – how do I transition to my new focus in a way that doesn’t confuse anyone or discredit me? A podcast listener asked in my Hotseat applications last month: “My business has been in a state of ‘transition’ for a year, but the truth is that I’ve just been hiding. I don’t want to talk about what I’m known for anymore. How do I say what I want to say without having to do a big public announcement taking back most things I ever said as a recovery coach? I just want to move forward, but I feel stuck.” Listen to this week’s episode for my answer. I talk about: Why knowing your Messenger identity is the key (because even when your messaging evolves, you’re still a Messenger) What to talk about during a pivot in your messaging The reason losing some of your people in a transition is a good thing Deeper support from me: What’s your Messenger Archetype? Take the quiz. Have something important to say in the world but feel messy in your messaging? My Messenger Mastermind is an intimate circle for women coaches ready to feel solid in their messaging (and themselves as a Messenger) so they can call in their people and next level of impact. 153 Your Message is a Moving Target

A few weeks ago, I put out a call to apply for a Hotseat with me. I loved reading everyone’s applications and learning about their businesses and messages. And I also saw a pattern I see often. We assume that any lack of clarity will be a simple fix ~ 15 minutes of coaching from me for a perfectly shiny and sparkly message. This thinking assumes there’s such a thing as a PERFECT message.  But that’s the right answer to the wrong question. There IS no target. Your message keeps evolving. Just like you. It’s not about perfection. It’s about evolution. This week on Unforgettable, we explore how to keep going deeper with your message (and your people) over time.  …And get more powerful as a Messenger with each iteration. Listen in. Deeper support from me: Have something important to say in the world but feel messy in your messaging? My Messenger Mastermind is an intimate circle for women coaches ready to feel solid in their messaging (and themselves as a Messenger) so they can call in their people and next level of impact. What’s your Messenger Archetype? Take the quiz.  How is your message evolving? Let me know over on Instagram. Warmth, Adria

152 Values-Based Marketing: How To Lead With Integrity

I’m back today with a followup to 151 “Why I Stopped Sacrificing Integrity for Strategy.” Today we’re talking practical, tangible examples of how to choose integrity and trust your own knowingness. Real-world biz examples. Because I know some (myself included) need concrete examples in order to visualize and fully integrate. I talk about: Why I said “no” to a powerful title for last week’s episode that followed copywriting best practices How I really felt the last time I discounted my program and why sometimes you don’t know what’s in integrity until you do it The best practice for sales calls I intentionally DON’T do (which are taught by mentors I highly respect) Where inequity was showing up in my Archetypes Quiz and how I’ve begun to make it more inclusive Listen in. Deeper support from me: Have something important to say in the world but feel messy in your messaging? Last call for my 3-month, invite-only Messenger Mastermind! Starts February 3rd. It’s like 1-1 support in an intimate group setting for women coaches ready to feel solid, clear, and like others connect to what they’re saying. 4 spots left. 151 Why I Stopped Sacrificing Integrity for Strategy

When you’re thrust into this world of marketing strategies and sales tactics, there’s so much external noise, best practices, and “shoulds”. It’s easy to trust what experts say are good strategies over your own internal knowing and not give yourself permission to say NO. But you don’t have to use a strategy that feels off because it worked for someone else. You can trust your own knowingness. When it comes to messaging or marketing, if it doesn’t feel aligned, that’s a good enough reason not to do it. That’s what episode 151 of Unforgettable is all about ~ unhooking from trusting strategy over what feels right to us. Listen in. Deeper support from me: Have something important to say in the world but feel messy in your messaging? Enrollment closes soon for my 3-month, invite-only Messenger Mastermind. 149 Leaning Into Growth as a Messenger

In 2019,  I deepened into what I stood for and said things publicly that made me cry I struggled to find balance between receiving support and maintaining connection with my people I cut out income streams in my business to be more in alignment (and proved the fear wrong by replacing that income) Next year, in 2020, I’m being called to use my voice to contribute to more conversations that really matter.  And many of those conversations I’m not an expert in… So I’m navigating how to not shy away from raising awareness or wait until I do it perfectly. (I’m likely going to model messing up!) Listen to this episode of Unforgettable for a behind the scenes peek at what I learned about being a Messenger in 2019 and my Messenger edge that I’m leaning into in 2020. Listen in.
