BYP 267: How Aaron Walker Built His Entire Business on Podcasts and Masterminds
Life is short, but it’s the longest thing we’ll ever do. I say that all the time and today’s guest has proved with his life that he believes it. Aaron Walker is the founder of Iron Sharpens Iron Mastermind, author of the book View From The Top, and creator of The Mastermind Playbook. At the beginning of his career, he built and sold multiple brick and mortar businesses and retired by the age of 27. Now he works because he wants to, spending his time teaching entrepreneurs how to do what he has done. One of the biggest things I admire about and have learned from Aaron is his process of doing the same thing over and over again. He has rinsed and repeated with every company he’s built. This focus got him to where he is today. In this episode, Aaron is talking to us about that process as well as how he’s used masterminds to grow his business and develop his life. Throughout the show you’ll hear: A bit of Aaron’s story, including his struggles Why he’s done 2500 podcast interviews in the last 6 and a half years His core values His unique process for setting goals and planning ahead All about The Mastermind Playbook Why he has focused on masterminds How you can make a 6-figure income by investing just 2 hours of your time each week Resources: Aaron’s website Aaron’s Ready-to-Use Mastermind Framework Aaron on Facebook Aaron’s ISI Mastermind on Instagram The Mastermind Playbook on Instagram Aaron on Twitter Connect with Mike: https://mikekim.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/mikekimtv/ LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikekimtv Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/mikekimtv/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/mikekimtv YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/MikeKim *** EPISODE CREDITS: If you like this podcast and are thinking of creating your own, consider talking to my producer, Danny Ozment. BYP 265: The 5 Stages of Business
Today I’m sharing one of the most helpful frameworks for me in my business. I learned it from my friend Tod Herman. This framework has helped me see where my business is and where I want to go with it in the coming years. The 5 stages are: The start-up phase The ramp-up phase The build-up phase The scale-up phase The leader-up phase No framework is perfect, but this one is extremely helpful. My hope is that you’ll be able to identify where you are in this matrix. This will show you what you need to do to solve the struggles you’re currently going through in your business. BYP 261: Your Three Best Days and A Kitchen Table Conversation With My Parents
An exercise that I like to do with people in my mastermind and with myself every couple of years is to imagine my three best days. I realized a while back how many of us live with our heads down. We get so caught up in our work that we lose sight of why we’re even doing it. The three best days exercise helps me get recentered on what’s important. Once I realize what my best days are, I can create a life that allows for more of them. In this episode, I’m sharing with all of you one of my best days. It includes having conversations with my parents around the dining room table. Having the margin to spend more time with family is one of the best things about having this business. I hope our conversation provides value for you and gives you a glimpse of my life outside of work. BYP 259: Struggling To Scale? Know Your Numbers with Jim Adams
You may have heard the saying numbers don’t lie. It’s true. If that’s the case, I don’t understand why so many personal brand builders, entrepreneurs, and freelancers avoid our numbers. That’s why I brought Jim Adams onto the show. Jim is a consultant and brick and mortar business owner who believes that in order to effectively scale your business, you need to know your numbers. He has helped hundreds of small business owners go to the next level in their businesses. Over the last year, he also grew his own pavilion business by 80%. We all need to treat our businesses with the same respect and seriousness that we would if we owned a brick and mortar business. So, in this episode, Jim helps us understand how he grew his own brick and mortar during a global pandemic and shares his knowledge and insight around numbers. Tune in to hear: What numbers the everyday entrepreneur needs to know When to start looking at your numbers How to assess if and when to cut off a product that’s not profitable When to start hiring for your personal brand What to focus on first as a start-up Tried and true business principles for every kind of entrepreneur How to build relationships Resources: Jim Adams Consulting Jim on Facebook Jim on LinkedIn American Landscape Structures Connect with Mike: https://mikekim.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/mikekimtv/ LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikekimtv Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/mikekimtv/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/mikekimtv YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/MikeKim *** EPISODE CREDITS: If you like this podcast and are thinking of creating your own, consider talking to my producer, Danny Ozment.
