Kimberly Olson:
Hey, Goal Diggers welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl, where we #getLIT in your business and set your soul on fire. For today I have special guests, Jamila Payne. I got it, girl. Is that right?
Jamila Payne:
Yes.
Kimberly Olson:
So I'm so excited to bring her on. I know you guys are going to love her. She is the creator of The Daily Success Routine. We're going to spend a lot of time on that, because I know you guys are always asking me about "what should I be doing every day in my business?". She's also a contributor to Black Enterprise Magazine. She's a radio, host DJ Adventurer, I think is so cool. And she also has a podcast called The Bread Winning Women Podcast. So I'm all about being the breadwinner. I'm proud to be the breadwinner, and I think we need to be all singing praises to that. So welcome on Jamila. I'm so excited to have you.
Jamila Payne:
Thank you, Kimberly. I'm so excited to be here with you today.
Kimberly Olson:
So there's so much goodness that we're going to be able to unpack here because your background is extensive. And I know my people and they're going to eat this up. So just to start, since you may be new to some of them, can you share a little bit about you? What got you into entrepreneurship and a bit about your journey?
Jamila Payne:
Yeah, definitely. So I built my career in marketing. So I was a marketing executive. I've worked for national and international campaigns, and what I learned really in that process of helping a lot of nonprofits, Corporate brands really build their business and up-level their marketing is that I was bringing in a lot of clients into their business, like leads into their business, that they didn't really have the systems or anything set up to be able to serve those clients. And so that really helps me to understand like, wow, it's not really just about the marketing, right? But you don't want to usher in a bunch of new clients into a broken office operation, right? You want to be able to support those clients successfully. So that led me down the path of figuring out, how could I really make a difference for these companies and started exploring that entrepreneurially.
Jamila Payne:
At the same time that that was happening, I also had the realization that even though I had some success, you know, in my corporate career, that there was always going to be this income ceiling, right? So I was always going to be able to get a, you know, 3% or 5% raise. And even in some of my roles where I had the opportunity to have upside potential based on the business that we were doing, there was always going to be a limit. And so I thought about this as a female in particular, in that I really want to be able to be empowered financially. I really want to have freedom, and I know that other women want the same.

Hey, Goal Digger. Welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. I'm so excited you're listening to this podcast and I so appreciate you taking the time because we're going to talk about my family's debt-free story, and I hope to inspire you because I know you can do it as well. And I think a lot of people listening are struggling right now. And I thought this could be really helpful to give you literally the inside scoop of what we did to get out of debt. But first, a listener review. I love the title of this, by the way, Amy, this is awesome. So the title of the review is "Laxative to Information Constipation". So the review says "so many times we listen to podcasts, trainings, webinars, and experience information constipation. Kimberly makes it simple and gives you action items to get you easily unstuck and in momentum. From, Amy".
Thank you, Amy. I so appreciate it. And those listening, please leave a review. It means so much to me. So I have got to tell you getting out of debt and being able to pay cash for everything. Of course, you know, we have a mortgage still, but we owe- what we owe on it is way less than the value of it. So technically we're in the green with our home too, if, you know, something happened. But just truly being debt-free, owning both of our vehicles. I mean, I got my Lexus last year, it's a $60,000 vehicle. Owning our homes, no credit card debts, no student loans, just nothing. It is- I can't even tell you. And the reason why I'm saying that to start with that is I can't even tell you, like it is SO unbelievable.

And I never thought it was possible for the longest time. I remember I would do every year, I would do a new vision board and I would put the picture of this girl. She was in the field and she was like, "I'm debt-free!". And I remember thinking I wanted it on there because I wanted to be debt-free, but I couldn't fathom it. Like we just were not making a lot of money. When we moved to Texas a decade ago, I was making 30-some thousand dollars a year.

Welcome back everyone, to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. Today, I have a special guest I'm so excited to connect with. Angela, is it Mastrogia? How do you say your last name?
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
It's Mastrogiacomo.
Kimberly Olson:
Oh, okay. I think I'll leave that to you and I'll work on memorizing that. But it makes you memorable, which is important. So you are the creator of The Story Behind the Journey, and we've gotten a chance to know each other really well. And I'm so, so excited to have you on, so thank you for being here today.
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
Yeah. Thank you so much for having me.
Kimberly Olson:
Yes. So when we were getting to know each other previously, before this episode, I found out that you actually have a music background, which is cool. 'Cause both my parents were musicians and that's how they met. And I just have such a love for music. But you were in the music industry and now you help clients scale to 5,000 or 5K months. So can we please, is it 5k months or five figure months?
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
Yeah, 5K months.
Kimberly Olson:
5K months. That's incredible. So basically easily replacing their salary and then some. So can we talk a little bit about you, your background in the music industry and how that transition came to be?
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
Yeah, absolutely. I love that you asked me this. So yeah, I started in the music industry. If we go back probably about a decade, I was still in college. I had started a music blog, because really simply I had fallen in love with this band that I saw on stage and I really wanted to talk to them and I couldn't think of a normal way to do that. So I thought-
Kimberly Olson:
Awesome.
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
Right? I was like, I'll just go way out of my way to create a blog so that I can seem professional and talk to them. That's totally normal.
Kimberly Olson:
It's actually brilliant.
Angela Mastrogiacomo:
And as it turned out, that was a great way to talk to them. And it was also a great way to talk to other bands and to eventually build a business. So I had this blog and I had it all through college, graduated college. And all the while I was thinking, you know, I'd kind of like to turn this blog into an actual career, but that's pretty hard to do. You know, I think a blog is a great launching point, but it's difficult to make the actual blog the primary source of income. And so all the while as I'm doing this, I've graduated from college. I have a communications degree, which is kind of like, what does that even mean? I don't even know. I didn't know, even at the time. And so I'm working all these jobs and I'm miserable.

128: Why You Need to Ditch One-on-One Onboarding NOW
Are you spending all your time onboarding new team members over the phone or on Zoom? Is it dragging down your recruiting efforts because of how much time it's taking? I want to talk to you about how to ditch the one-on-one onboarding and automate your processes so you can get your time back. Listen in!

Hey, Goal Digger. Welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. I'm so excited to chat with you today about this topic, "Why You Need to Ditch One-on-One Onboarding Now". I may meet some resistance with this, and I really, you know this, I'm always going to tell you what I really think. So if you don't agree, I encourage you to stay open-minded because once I implemented automated onboarding and stopped doing, one-on-ones not only did my book of business increase, my personal enrollments increased, but my duplication went crazy and I started to get my time back. I stopped feeling so burnt out. I stopped feeling like really dreading that next one-on-one Zoom or phone call because I knew it would be 45 minutes to an hour, and frustrated when people wouldn't do anything. So we're going to chat about that today.
So first off, why you need to ditch the one-on-one onboarding. What I'm talking about is coming up with a way that you can still connect, you can still engage, you can still help that person and be there for them. But you aren't spoon-feeding them, you aren't spending time one-on-one with them on a call, on a Zoom. Now why this is important is because we only have so much time and the people you are recruiting only have so much time. They're watching you. So if it's taking a lot to get them up and running, they are going to notice that and they're going to think to themselves, "Oh goodness, I don't want to recruit a lot of people or build a business because it's going to take a lot of time out of my schedule to do this". And if you even think about that whole process of launching, so let's say someone signs up on a Saturday and you're like, "okay, let's schedule your onboarding or your training. Let's schedule your training call".
What are they thinking in their head? They're thinking, "okay, I'm not going to start, obviously, until I have my training call". Well, schedules are tricky. So let's just say you figure something out within the next few days. So Tuesday. All right, you have your call with them Tuesday, give them some instruction. So they they're supposed to start implementing the next day. Well, it's been what, five days since they started. Like, you've got to get people into activity within 48 hours. They should already have their first curiosity post up. They have got to get into activity. So that's a really important piece of it is the whole length of time that it takes. Right? But the other thing is, is that they notice, they notice how long it's taking and you're going to see people - they're not going to necessarily want to do the same thing.
You might love it. It might be your jam, right?

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. My name is Kimberly Olson, your hostess. And today I have special guest, Amira Alvarez, and I'm pumped and beyond belief because I said, "how do I not know you? You're amazing. And we need to be friends". So we are going to share our new friendship with you guys today in this fun conversation. So welcome on, girlfriend. I'm so excited to have you.
Amira Alvarez:
I am so excited to be here. We're doing the pre-interview, like get to know each other, and we're both like, "Oh, we need to be best friends".
Kimberly Olson:
We just have so much in common. But the really cool thing is all the things that you're teaching. 'Cause there's so many amazing pieces of content, resources you do, in-person events, offline, online, virtual, you're offering so much value that's aligned with what I want them to learn. You know? So that's why I think this is just going to be so helpful for everyone listening today. So we thought it would be great to dive into your - you've had an amazing quantum leap in your business and probably it just keeps going up and up and up. Where you - similar story to me, you made, one year made 138,000 and in ONE year broke 700,000 and a lot of the girls listening want that. They're like, "I need the breakthrough. I need to figure it out". And it's not just about that income. It's about figuring out, you know, if there's areas you're sabotaging, what do you need to fix in your business? So I thought we could talk a lot about that, but first, do you mind sharing a bit about who you are, your story and what got you into the world of entrepreneurship so they can get to know you better?
Amira Alvarez:
Absolutely. So I started this by building my own business, right? I was in Corporate and I left that job because I had physical pain and I was stressed out and I thought "anything but this". And I went, and I trained in a particular mind-body technique and I thought, "this is great. I'm just going to hang my shingle out. The people will come." And it didn't work that way.
Kimberly Olson:
I did that, too. It does not work.
Amira Alvarez:
I was like so naive about that. But it started a really positive path for me. And there's always an opportunity in every situation and the big opportunity for me there was learning about marketing sales, how to grow business, how to move through the blocks, all of that. And I started that journey from my very first, you know, course that I took. And then I took the next one and I signed up for this and I signed for -

Hello, and welcome back to another episode. I'm so excited to talk to you about how to totally go viral with your Instagram Reels. And I will tell you, we will talk about if it's time for you or not. I'm going to give you all the juicy details on that. And we're also going to talk about comparing it to TikTok, which you're already doing. So by the end of this, not only will you know exactly how to make them go viral, but you're also going to know whether or not it's the right time for you to get into Instagram Reels. But first, a listener review. So this one is from "The Happy Workaholic". It says "Not only was I a guest on Kimberly’s show I am also and will be always a fan! Excellent content for business owners! She is top notch when it comes to sales and marketing as well strategy. Tune in and binge her episodes! You won’t regret it."
Thank you so much, girlfriend. I really appreciate you, Kelly. I love your podcasts as well, and I love when we can collaborate together. So for those listening, please drop a review. You can get featured and shouted out on one of my episodes, I would really appreciate it. Okay. So when it comes to Instagram Reels, I think the thing that people, the downside, the danger zone is that you might think, "Oh my gosh, this is it", right? "Like, this is the way, Oh, it's the hottest thing, I totally needed to do it. What if it's that thing?" And sometimes, and I talked a lot about this. Beginning of this year, I moved, I changed network marketing companies. And I talk to people about, when you make that change, you have to first ask yourself, "is the grass greener on the other side, really?
Or is there something I'm doing?". So we always think, "Oh, go to that new company, try that new platform". But you have to ask yourself the foundational pieces that will work on any platform. Are you doing those? Do you have a million dollar DMO? Do you have a million millionaire mindset, right? Like, are you working on your mindset every morning? Are you doing your daily activities? Are you reaching out, following up posting content? Are you being consistent? If you're not doing those things on Facebook coming over to Instagram Reels is not going to change your business. So the first thing is to have a heart to heart. The first thing is to ask yourself, "are there foundational pieces that I know I should be doing everyday? And I'm just not "right. "I'm just not, I'm treating it like a hobby. I'm not consistent. I'm not focused. I keep squirreling".
Okay. That's the first thing. The second thing is to ask yourself, "does this make sense at this point in my business to layer in this platform?".

We've had an opportunity to get to know each other, and I'm obsessed. So I wanted to bring her to you guys because you know, when I start busting out mindset and things like that, you're like, "but what about Instagram stories?". And then when we start talking about the mindset, you're like, "Oh wait, this is everything. This is so important". It's the foundation of everything that you want in your life, we need to get into this. And I found the girl who like totally gets it. So Natalie, welcome on. Thanks for being here today.
Natalie Schlute:
Oh, thank you, Kimberly. I'm so honored and excited to be here with you as well, and your audience.
Natalie Schlute:
Oh, I'm so excited. I just know them and they're gonna like, just become obsessed with you as well. So let's start with this - so you can of course share what you do, but I would love to talk about how you got into it as well, because I feel like it is pretty unique as far as what you do. I mean, we're all unique, but you know what I mean? Like the space you're in, it's not oversaturated. We need more people like you out there. So do you mind sharing that with my listeners, mostly moms, mostly female entrepreneurs, most of them exhausted, overwhelmed and need this today. But can you share a little bit about your background and how you got into what you do?
Natalie Schlute:
Yes, I'm well, I call myself an Intuitive Success Coach. If we go like logistics, yes, I got Life Coach Certified and hypnotherapy, NLP, which is Neuro Linguistic Programming, understanding the subconscious mind, some Reiki energy work in there. I've had coaches that were psychics and metaphysicians because I was starting to get a lot of psychic impressions, and I didn't know how to navigate it. I couldn't just go to a regular therapist. Right. A little different. I needed someone who really understood, like, "why am I seeing these visions and experiencing these things?"
I guess, you know, if I go back to my childhood, I definitely had the intuitive impressions coming through. Then I just didn't know what it was.

Hey, Goal Digger, Kimberly Olson here. Welcome back for another episode. I'm really excited to do this one because obviously I'm going to be talking about getting to seven figures. And I know a lot of people want to know how. And if you're going "well, I haven't even made a comma check yet", this can still totally apply, I promise you because I started off exactly the same way. So first we're going to do a listener review and then we will dive in. This one is from Christine Cote. She has in quotations, Coxie. "Anybody who wants to grow their on line business and crush it in 2020, absolutely NEEDS to listen to this podcast! I'm new at this - consciously incompetence learning the skills and I’m ALREADY seeing results - it really works! XO, Christine". Well, Christine, thank you so much. You are so sweet to leave that review. I personally got to know you and you're an incredible human and I'm so, so thankful to be one of your coaches.
So how did I scale to seven figures? So I've got four ideas to share with you today of what I did. And obviously it took some time to get here. Everyone's path and journey is different, but this is the thing. Let's just say it takes you 10 years to get to seven figures. Who cares? Like most people, and that's fine, but most people, you know, get a job and their plan is to retire in 30 years and maybe get a little increase every so often. Right? So if it takes you 10 years to get to seven figures, or maybe it takes you 20 years and it takes you 10 years to get to six, like it's all progress. Okay. So don't compare someone's chapter 20 to your chapter one. So this is what I did. The first thing I did is I put automation in place, big help, obviously with my Operations Director, Anna Barefield, because she does, she's the brains behind everything.
She does all the tech things. She makes everything work, keeps me organized. And the automated systems, the big one for me was for my network marketing team. So for me, it's really important that I'm actively in the trenches building a team, because if I'm going to be a trainer and teach you, I need to be relevant, right? Like I need to know what's working today, because let's face it. Things change so much on social media. So I knew in order for me to grow financially in the various areas of income, the different streams I have, one thing that can be very time consuming is having a Network Marketing team. Because a lot of times you're taught to onboard everybody and do like an hour one-on-one zoom. And I used to be, I used to lock myself and I remember I can vividly see it.

Hello, and welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. My name is Kimberly Olson, your hostess, and I have special guest, one of my business besties, and really personal friend bestie, too, Aleshia Wisch on today. Thank you so much for being on, girlfriend!
Aleshia Wisch:
Ahh, thank you! I'm so excited!
Kimberly Olson:
I'm so excited. I know you all can't see us, but we look really cute. 'Cause we're both wearing gray shirts that say goals and we're - we have pink behind us and we're twinning. Totally. And we are excited to share this content with you because it's not talked about enough. And right now at the time of this recording, we're still in quarantine. So if you're listening to the replay, we might be hopefully past that, but we're in the midst of it right now. And Aleshia and I share a lot in common when it comes to our passion for mental health and we've had similar struggles.
Kimberly Olson:
So we're going to have a great conversation today to give you some hope, give you some inspiration and hopefully some nuggets of wisdom to help you in this season of life, whether you're home or just going through a rough patch. So to start, Aleshia, since some of them, I know a lot of them know you because we're so connected on social media, but for those that are new and maybe have never heard of you, can you share about yourself, who you are and what you do?
Aleshia Wisch:
Absolutely. So first and foremost, I am a mom to three amazing boys, two teenagers, a 15 year old, a 14 year old and an almost 9 year old.
Kimberly Olson:
Bless your heart!
Aleshia Wisch:
So much fun. And married with my, I've been with my husband for It has been for 16 years. And, we actually, we're serial entrepreneurs. Well, I'm the serial entrepreneur. He has a cleaning company that I help him with. And then I have multiple businesses that I do, but a huge passion of mine is really helping those who, you know, they battle anxiety, depression, mental health, as we've talked about. Because I did battle for so long, I battled over 20 years with my own issues and I learned different ways to get past it. And I think when it comes to mental health, it's the part where like, once you get through it and you're on the other side of it, you don't want anybody to go through those things that you went through. So it's like, I had this huge drive to help others where, you know, they don't know what resources that there are. They don't know what direction to go. They feel alone.
Aleshia Wisch:
And I don't want people feeling like that. I want them to know that there are ways to get the resources and find their people. It's very, very important to me because like you mentioned, I mean mental health, a lot of people think of it as a taboo subject, but if you really think about it, like all of us have our issues and everybody has a thing.

All right, Goal Diggers, welcome back to another episode. We're going to talk about "Who's That Lady, How to Laser In On Your Ideal Avatar", because man, I gotta' tell you when I get to this part in my training programs and working with clients one-on-one or just even in messenger on social media, people are extremely confused by this. And you really do have to have this honed in completely for you to show up intentionally on social media and, most importantly, attract the right person to you. So we're going to dive in momentarily. But first a listener review is from Katie Foster. She says, "Kimberly is my person. Kimberly has been hands down my person. You look around for a mentor and hear many speakers, but none will speak to you quite like Kimberly. Her authenticity screams through all the content, whether it's text or video, you feel her aside from the warm and fuzzy vibe, she gives as if you are her family, her content and trainings are so useful that you can snag a tip and get right to action.
I've had more aha moments with Kimberly than I can count. I am forever a Kimberly Olson lifer." I haven't heard that one before, Katie. You are so sweet and girl, you are a queen. You are crushing it. I've loved watching you grow. So I appreciate it girl, so much. Okay. So let's get into the nitty gritty. So when it comes to identifying your ideal avatar, first off, what is an avatar? An avatar is just your target audience. So when you hear the word audience, an audience, if you're a beginner would be your Facebook friends list. The people who are seeing your posts, your Facebook lives, or even a Facebook group list, the members in there - that's your audience. So don't get hung up on the word audience like, "well, you know, I'm not an influencer yet. I don't have an audience built". Your audience is just whoever is hearing what you have to share, right?
So if you were speaking at an auditorium, your audience is sitting out there in the chairs, right? It's the same thing on social media. Whoever's seeing your posts in the newsfeed. So to start, when you're building up your audience, you don't want to be all things to everyone. A lot of times people have products that can help everyone, right? The toothpaste whitening or haircare or skincare. They're like, "well, everyone has skin, right?"
But if you are trying to sell your product to everyone or share your content in a way that's for everyone, no one feels like you're speaking to them.
So they don't get engaged.
