Geir Arne, CEO and founder of Havkraft in Norway, is scared of waves, but has still developed and patented an unique technology that picks up different wave frequencies. It has taken more than 20 years, but now his company is ready for commercialization. Geir Arne does not have „an American feel good story“ to tell, but loves to challenge existing truths by asking questions – both to the outer world as well as how he show up in his own life. Havkraft AS was founded in 2009 by Geir Arne Solheim. Fjord Invest Såkorn was the first professional investor in the company. Havkraft developed a highly efficient, simple, and scalable wave energy converter. In 2014, the company deployed a large scale power plant on a ship called MS Havkraft in the Stad Ocean in Norway. Havkraft is currently developing multiple platforms to meet demand for ocean energy worldwide.
