Dr. Erin Tjam is the author of "Skin Sobering: 99% of Products Age and Harm Your Skin".In this episode, we talk about how after her own skin failed her, Erin researched how to take care of skin. 128. "Stress and sugar are terrible for gut health": Dr. Cecilia

Gastroenterologist Dr. Cecilia Minano had so many health issues as well as high stress levels. When she finally got coaching, she learned empowering boundaries and self-care that changed her life. She tells about her childhood when she would calm her insecurities and self-soothe with sugar. With her medical background, she now knows that sugar and industrially manufactured food products can lead to dysbiosis (an unbalanced gut). Once she eliminated most sugar from her own diet, her life changed for the better. Cecilia explains how the physical and emotional tension in our body that we call stress affects all aspects of our physical and emotional health, including in the microbiome. And processed foods make everything worse. Our gut health is central to our general and emotional health. For example, serotonin is made in the gut and helps to regulate mood and reactions to stress. Stress can increase blood sugar levels, and eating less sugar can help improve your gut health.Find Dr. Cecilia Minano here. 124. "What I learned in nutrition school just didn't make sense": Lesya

Lesya was always on diets when she was growing up. So she thought: If I become a nutritionist, I'll finally know the secret to how to eat, how to lose weight, and how to keep weight off.But she was severely disappointed when she graduated. She questioned what she learned in nutrition school because it just didn't make sense to her. More fat? Even saturated fat?? She was shocked... but it worked! She lost a lot of weight. But Leysa realized that she was using keto to mask her sugar addiction. She wasn't getting to the root of her issues. Leysa had to address her underlying reasons for struggling with sugar, desserts, and keto sweeteners. She's an abstainer - she couldn't stop at one bite. Listen to how Lesya overcame her dependency on sweet foods and how she's found the freedom from sugar that suits her.Check out Lesya's podcast: Fit Moms Squad. To get personal guidance, support, and accountability to live your healthier intermittent fasting lifestyle with less sugar: Join the the After Sugar Club today! To get rid of cravings, especially if you're an intermittent faster, download your 5 tips here. Also check out the Life After Sugar Facebook page, and subscribe to my Instagram account,  TikTok, and to the Life After Sugar YouTube channel.Do the Cravings Quiz and take the first step to get rid of your cravings!
