Ep 70 - The Challenges of Starting a Business as a First Generation Immigrant ft. Founder of Kanchiko

Saylesa and I actually went to highschool together but she has now moved over to the US with her family! Through the hectic lockdowns, she gained a passion for makeup! Doing mainly editorial looks, things started gaining traction and finding some cool products she thought she could start something herself!⠀The brand started off with beauty products but as of the 27th of Feb they will be launching fashion wear! So exciting for her and to see such quick growth of something that started so humbly is something I loved interviewing her about!A really important topic Saylesa focused on was the challenges that have come with this journey involving family, upbringing and society in general! I really enjoyed hearing this perspective and commend Saylesa so much for what she has managed to achieve in such a short space of time!If you loved this podcast make sure you also go check out Learnt My Lesson Podcast below for more inspiration around mental health.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5UepTCdtCrRl6DVWlsKetm?si=0eWWLO78TfSQ0aHrzCANlg&nd=1Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/learnt-my-lesson/id1502923441Find more of us here:http://theoneupproject.nz/ https://www.instagram.com/theoneupproject/https://linktr.ee/theoneupproject Want to get in touch directly?sarah@theoneupproject.nzThanks so much for your support and listening it means so much to me! Ep 69 - Can We Talk? Hustle Culture, Burnout & Managing Rejection w/ Felicia Aull

The first of many “Can We Talk?” Episodes ✨✨In this episode I have the lovely @feliciaaull of @florescence.podcast & @soulfamilynz - She is one of those high achiever types, constantly has 5000 things on her plate and literally striving everyday to be the absolute best version of herself possible!⠀I admire this type of drive and diligence - something that can often come with this massive work load is burnout, if not managed properly. Sometimes we can also get caught in what’s been labelled as “hustle culture” and amongst all of that, there’s bound to be times where shit just keeps going wrong.⠀We get to hear about all of this plus more on how Felicia deals with it and why these topics are really close to her heart! I have pretty split opinions on this topic and sometimes struggle to articulate my thoughts on it so really happy to have Felicia here to so gracefully communicate her experiences and tools! If you loved this podcast make sure you also go check out Learnt My Lesson Podcast below for more inspiration around mental health.Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5UepTCdtCrRl6DVWlsKetm?si=0eWWLO78TfSQ0aHrzCANlg&nd=1Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/nz/podcast/learnt-my-lesson/id1502923441Find more of us here:http://theoneupproject.nz/ https://www.instagram.com/theoneupproject/https://linktr.ee/theoneupproject Want to get in touch directly?sarah@theoneupproject.nzThanks so much for your support and listening it means so much to me! Ep 65 - The Time in Between Buying your First & Second Property - What do we need to know?

How do we prepare after buying the first? When do we need to start thinking about it? What is equity? Some of us have goals to own more than one home and maybe the time to start thinking about the second one is closer than you think! 🏡⠀A lot of these questions surround when we should be seeking help which I think is important because often people don’t want to reach out early. You might think you need heaps of money or equity before reaching out to a mortgage adviser or doing some research - but this doesn’t have to be the case! ⚡️⠀Hoping to answer some interesting questions in this one! This episode is 1/2 shorter property eps that will cover basic and straightforward questions! An easy listen to get upskilled quick 💥Find more of us here:http://theoneupproject.nz/ https://www.instagram.com/theoneupproject/https://linktr.ee/theoneupproject Want to get in touch directly?sarah@theoneupproject.nzThanks so much for your support and listening it means so much to me!
