Step 1: Get clear on how you want to feel on a daily basis.Step 2: Identity your energy leaks. Step 3: Say No. Learn how to say this is a nice way so you're honouring yourself and those involved. This is all an inner journey. Who do you need to become in order to get to where to want to go?I'd love to hear your feedback. What personal growth are you currently working on? 020: STOP letting fear run the show.
Today on the podcast I’m talking about fear. We all have it, so how do we control it? How can we co create the life we DO want, while living with fear? How can we teach and support our children through their big emotions as well? This is a near and dear subject my heart because I witness so many children who struggle greatly with fear, anxiety and overwhelm that are not being taught how to manage it. And as a parent and a cancer survivor I know what it feels like to live in fear. During my diagnosis I was in a constant state of fear but along the way I discovered a few strategies that quickly shifted my perspective and allowed my body to calm down. On today’s podcast episode, I discuss: What fear is and why it’s essential to keep us safe everyday. How to identify ‘true’ fear and self sabotage. What questions to ask yourself when stuck in a fearful state of mind. Fear is healthy. It’s part of the human experience. The more we teach ourselves and our children how to identify, manage and co create with fear this is where we start to create a life we truly love. Hope on over to the podcast and listen. The Mom Is In Control Podcast is also available on stitcher. Warmly, Heather P.S. It takes a village to raise an emotionally healthy child. If you know another mama who could benefit from this podcast, please feel free to pass it along. Thank you in advance. Join the newsletter list at www.heatherchauvin.com

019: Screw Pedicures. This is real self care.
I have officially turned on the ‘explicit’ label on all my podcasts. This was inspired by Karen Osburn and her new podcast Women Wanting More. Click it out here. Those who know me, know my biggest pet peeve is lying and BS. I can’t stand it. I can smell it a mile away. I crave real, raw and honest conversations with real humans beings. Vulnerability is the way I like to live myself. If you’re not being real, than what are you being? I think culturally we are missing a HUGE piece that will solve a lot of our mental health issues. Getting real with self care. What is means and why it's so important. Today’s podcast is about real self care. This goes beyond the pedicures and closet full of the latest fashions. It’s about soul level self love. Compassion and discovering the essence of who you really are — and who you children really are. I list out a bunch of way to connect with yourself - that won't cost you a dime or take a lot of time. Come join the private FB group.

018: The Inner calling: Are you listening to the signs?
We are celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving over here. Unfortunately mine includes a head cold. Which means cooking with a cold. Don’t be jealous :) On today’s podcast episode I interview Kiva Leatherman from the WISE Women Network. I love Kiva’s real deal perspective on life, business and parenting so I wanted to ask her a few questions about what it’s like to go for you want AND be a conscious involved parent. Purpose beyond parenting. How to find it and why is it so important to feel connected outside of your role as a mother. What’s an inner calling and why is it so important to honours AND your child’s? Surrender. How does this allow someone to feel in control? I look forward to hearing your feedback about today’s episode. 017: Did The School Call Today? Parenting Personal Growth.
017: Did the school call you today? Not too many people talk about parenting as a spiritual practice - let alone how we grow as individuals once our children start school. I mean that seems to be when the ‘real world’ problems come to life, right? What do you do when your child has severe social anxiety? What do you do if your child has low self esteem and/or bullied? What if you’re getting calls from the school and no one is giving to ‘advice’ on how to fix the situation? Then what? Not to mention the jammed packed schedule. When do you even have time to care about these problems? HOW do you create time? SHOW LINKS: Book: The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali Join us on the private FB group. 016: On The days I don't want to be a mom anymore.
So…. for the first time ever on the podcast I’m talking about how I shift my energy and make sh!+ happen on the days I don’t want to be a mom. On the days when I’ve put too much pressure on myself to do it all. A lot of people think because I teach others about parenting and feeling in control that I’m a perfect parent. That’s so far from the truth. I’m human too don’t forget. In today’s episode, I discuss: 7 minute game changing morning workout (link found below). What happens when you lose yourself to parenting and how to begin to find yourself again. How to get yourself out of a pity party and feel in control again. I use this technique on a weekly basis. Your action step for today. Before you start a pity party of why you can't doing something. Reconsider HOW to can accomplish it. Show links: 7 minute workout Join us on the private FB group.

015: Anxiety Free Living?
Today’s episode is all about what it really takes to create emotional freedom. I talk a lot about emotional freedom because I believe it’s the foundation of happiness and success AND it's possible for anyone. Yes, anyone. If we/or our children do not have the tools and roles models to guide them towards feeling in control of their big emotions (anger, anxiety, fear and negative thoughts) they/we will not know how to overcome them — unless they learn themselves. Having a professional background in mental health I’ve witnessed people from all walks of life overcome adversity. So what makes them so resilient? Simple answer: Their lifestyle and their relationship to vulnerability and emotion. In this episode, I discuss: How to start feeling in control of your big emotions on a moment by moment basis. Why we get stuck in a label and diagnosis and feel like a victim. Why I stopped drinking coffee - even though it’s my favourite drink ever. My new meditation practice and how it has evolved over the years. Your In Control Action Step for today: Pay attention to how to feel after you eat certain things, what time you go to bed, who you hang around with, your thoughts. How much screen time you have. Write it down in a journal and also write down the emotion that shows up when doing these activities. Warmly, Heather P.S. Are you liking this new shift in emails and focus on helping you take action - so you can become the best version of yourself and support your children? 014: You have enough time. Here's why.
If you’re wasting time, you’re wasting your life. Being diagnosis with cancer taught me this. I get it, we’re all busy. Kids, work, errands… who has time for sex or self care? I will tell ya who. People who create the life they want. Have you ever wondered how the average successful (not burnt out) business woman and mother is able to have time for herself and cultivate deep relationships with those they love? She’s intentional about her time and her energy. And this is exactly what I’m talking about on today’s podcast episode - over on the Mom Is In Control Podcast. Click here to listen. In this episode, I discuss: How to prioritizing what’s important to you - so you can get out of overwhelm. Thriving Mindset: What you might be doing that’s keeping you stuck in a ‘never enough’ mindset. My 60 second nightly planning ritual that allows me to get a good night sleep. The addiction you might have that you’re unaware of and being aware of this will help your kids avoid this as well. In control action step: Take 5 minutes and write down a simple ‘time log’ for what you’ve done today. Are the direct actions you’ve taken today in alignment with how you want to feel and show up in your work and relationships? One step at a time, you got this. Warmly, Heather P.S. I want to hear from you. What was your greatest take away from today’s episode? Send me an email: heather@heatherchauvin.com
