Max Aita - Mind Blown
Max Aita went in deep on technique and programming, predominantly on explaining MED/MRV for weightlifting, correctly selecting accessory exercises, performing pulls up on the toes (or not), data collection and tracking for coaches, and the future of AI programming. I expect this to become the most downloaded episode of the podcast ever, so please enjoy and share!https://maxaita.com/https://maxaita.com/seminars/https://www.instagram.com/max_aita/?hl=enpatreon.com/weightliftinghousehttps://www.instagram.com/seb_ostrowicz/?hl=enhttps://www.instagram.com/josh_philwl/?hl=enhttps://www.instagram.com/weightlifting_house/?hl=en

Flexible (Daily) Programming
We speak so much about detailing out long term programming, how to potentiate one mesocycle into the next, how long to spend on one cycle and then the next, but we have never really spoken about a functional approach to flexible programming, ie waking up and deciding on a daily basis what to do next. This isn't an entirely lackluster approach to weightlifting, in fact with the right amount of knowledge about your own body and the principles of strength training, this can be an extremely productive means of programming. Peaking & 'Training Snowflakes' w/ Glenn Pendlay
Glenn dropped some great knowledge this week on his preferred peaking strategies for major competition. The manipulation of volume and/or intensity is the knife edge upon which a successful peak must balance. Glenn also told some funny stories about various 'training snowflakes' who claim injury all too readily and find excuses to roll and stretch in place of hard training. Half way through this week's episode Joshua Gibson showed up in time to join in on an interesting short conversation on presidency before we got straight back into in depth weightlifting talk. The main discussion about tapering begins at 19:40.patreon.com/weightliftinghouseglennpendlay@gmail.comweightliftinghouse.comhttps://www.instagram.com/josh_philwl/https://www.instagram.com/seb_ostrowicz/https://www.instagram.com/glenn_pendlay/https://www.instagram.com/weightlifting_house/

Advanced Technique Talk with Dan Bell
This is probably the most in depth we have ever been on technique on the podcast, and for that reason this is definitely one of my favourite episodes to date. Dan Bell, Josh and I spoke about the role of the arms in affecting bar path, the role of the quads and hamstrings, and where the balance ought to be during all parts of the pull. We spoke about flat footed pulls, panda pulls, and belt squats. We also finished off with a few hilarious and informative stories about Westside Barbell. Ultimately, a tremendous podcast. Dan Bell (The People's Technician) has coached weightlifting exclusively for nearly 18 years. He is a USA Weightlifting National (Level 2) coach and has guided weightlifters to the national and international level, as well as helped hundreds of Crossfitters improve their weightlifting technique.Coach Bell has been involved in weight training and barbell sports for over forty years. His strength journey has taken him from preparing for high school football and wrestling to powerlifting, strongman training, and finally, Olympic weightlifting. Dan says that technique is as demanding and precise as a 300 pound golf swing. He believes weightlifting to be the ultimate test of speed, strength, flexibility and athleticism.Follow Dan:https://www.instagram.com/rubbercityweightlifting/http://www.rubbercityweightlifting.org/For programming, The Morning Brew, and the News Show in Video - patreon.com/weightliftinghouseOther linksweightliftinghouse.comhttps://www.instagram.com/weightlifting_house/https://www.instagram.com/josh_philwl/https://www.instagram.com/seb_ostrowicz/

The Morning Brew | Ep. 7
Ep. 7 was so good we had to put it out to everyone. Josh and I answered Patreon questions about applying Mike Tuchscherer's Emerging strategies to Weightlifting, what to do with someone who front squats 195kg but only back squats 203kg, how to reach a double body weight back squat, whether Ilya is going to compete again, and should the shoulders be over the bar in the power position. There were of course many other questions and conversations thrown into this special episode.
