Closing Session - Vision of the New World - Tabula Rasa January 2022 Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances XuWe need to be taught innocence as little children because we are brought up with the ego's way of adding meaning to and sorting out the reasons and purposes of the world. It wants us to take sides of what is good and what is bad, and it wants us to keep asking ourselves to make decisions in the world based on who the ego tells us to be. This is where all the chaos comes from. The split mind tries to project a world in which it makes sense to align with the perceived good side and reject the bad side as if there is meaning in such a world. We have to unlock all of it based on guidance from the spirit, like in little children where everything is miraculous. Everything is perfect. No bad guys, no good guys, no sides. Just innocence and trust in that we are taken care of. That is our way of learning how to perceive the new world. Movie 'Eagle Eye' Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Online Movie WorkshopJesus gave us a movie today where he's giving us the nuts and bolts of how to have peace of mind. It's called listen and follow. Everyone who comes to planet earth and to time and space believes that they can have an autonomous personal will apart from Gods, but what does that mean? It means that it can have an experience other than perfect supreme happiness, other than total bliss, eternal life, and eternal bliss. So that's good to know. Right? When I was a teenager, I used to be afraid of God's will. I was like, what is that? And Jesus taught me; it's simply perfect happiness. Calm down. Don't get all bent out of shape about God's will. It's not about which country should invade which country and who's right and who's wrong. No, no. In fact, free will doesn't have anything to do with choice. Free will is just a perfect eternal state of mind, one with God. Opening Session - Tabula Rasa January 2022 Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances XuOur topic for this month's retreat is 'Vision for a New World,' and Jesus is quite specific with his choice of words, so when he talks about Vision, he's not talking about it in the way that most human beings speak of Vision and a new world. He's not talking about the Vision that the ego has associated with the body and its Vision for a better world.What he means by Vision is always in the present moment. There is no such thing as a future vision for Jesus. He states that the world that you perceive through your five senses must be denied because it's costing you the sight of another world. A world that you experience in your mind. So you can see how radical this is. And he's teaching us in the course that our true Vision, the Vision of Christ, is not perceptual, so we don't have to try to figure out a better-looking world, isn't that good? So we can let go of trying to manifest a better world in the future. Movie "Family Man" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie Workshop When we approach forgiveness, often, we think we need to forgive ourselves as persons or forgive other people. But what Jesus is asking us to do here on Christmas Day is, he wants us to recognize that we have a perceptual problem. Like in the 12 step program, I have to admit that I have a human perception addiction and that it is blocking the light for who I really am because God created me as pure spirit. I've misperceived my identity as being tiny when I'm vast. I'm so vast that I can't even be contained in time and space. I'm so vast I'm an eternal creation of God. And that's what we're going to pray to the Holy Spirit and Jesus today to show us that we are divine spirit. God's will for us is perfect happiness. Movie "12 Dates of Christmas" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopThe number one theme in the movie poll was trying to get it right versus relaxing into our true purpose this week. That's our problem. We've been trying to get it right in time and space and thinking we know what right is in time and space. That's a problem. How can you accept the correction for a problem if you think you already know what the problem is? And if you're sure it's a financial problem or an interpersonal relationship problem or that we have a pollution problem, a pandemic problem, or an overpopulation problem, fill in the blank. Any stressful situation is trying to define the problem in terms of form. But Jesus and the Holy Spirit are telling us. It's not in form the problem is. The form is a reflection of what you believe. You think you're something other than the Holy Christ. That's the problem. Assuming you have an identity apart from God's perfect love and light. But with this, you keep reminding me I'm safe at home in heaven and just dreaming of exile. I can't exile from God. It's not possible. I can believe it, but I can't make it so. But I can't turn the dream into reality. This is just a dream of separation from God. So in eternity, we are determined that we want God, and that is never going to change. But the problem is that because we're confused, we want the opposite as well. That's where the mind is split. That's where the experience is divided, and that's why there are miracles and even joy, but also so many other emotions that come from the desire for the opposite. So really, the whole journey is a purification towards a mind where the spirit is our only desire. Spirit is truly who we are. That is where once we identify ourselves with only that, that's where Christ is born again. The movie "No Sleep 'Til Christmas" - ACIM Movie Workshop with David Hoffmeister - Tabula Rasa December Online RetreatNobody likes to be told of their flaws. Nobody likes to be told what's wrong with them. People like to hear good news. They want to listen to the good things. That's how the ego thrives. Jesus is like, well, that's okay. But actually, both the positive and negative attributes are made up by the ego because all of them are shadows. The positive judgments are light shadows. And the negative judgments are dark shadows. But shadows are shadows and not the light. Why would you settle for light shadows? Why would you take a little bit of shade when you're pure love and light? That is what we're going for. We have to learn to be guided and come into a state of mind that transcends doubt and transcends all things that my brothers point out to me. So when your brothers and your sisters are pointing things out to you, they're just acting out thoughts and beliefs that you still hold about yourself in time and space. So actually, that's why Jesus says only full appreciation and gratitude is an appropriate response to your brothers and sisters. One's prayer is everyone's prayer because there's really only one of us. And that's what we're being convinced of, that everything I perceive through my mind is my mind. So I'm always looking at a motion picture of my mind, and I'm always feeling a state of mind that is for myself and the entire world, and that's pretty huge. Jesus says there is no world apart from what you think, and then he goes so far as to say there is no world period. So that gives you an idea of how deep the hallucination is. So first of all, if I'm seeing something that's not even there, that's a predicament. And then if I'm categorizing and judging this thing that's not even there and feeling all bent out of shape with all kinds of emotions, about this hallucination that's not even there, I need to start to be practical and learn to listen to the guidance and be intuitive.
