We're going beyond the celestial realms of time and space of what is in A Course in Miracles called a vast illusion. Shakespeare got it right. He was on to it; he called it Much Ado About Nothing.It's no small state of mind to look at the world and have a big smile on your face and a burst of gentle laughter and go hmm, Much Ado About Nothing. That would include all events in time and space, all the wars, all the diseases, all the hurricanes and tsunamis and plagues, and viruses. All the big stuff, let's throw them all in there. And all the seemingly good things as well, all the tulips, all the hummingbirds, let's take them all. And, Lord, I would rather have the vision of Christ than see a hummingbird. I would rather have a vision of Christ than leave my attention on perceptions of form. I would rather know my eternal home, everlasting life, than the things of form. Movie "Just Like Heaven" Committing to Perfect Happiness by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopThis week, the theme that got the most votes in the weekly poll was, 'We're committing to God's will, which is perfect happiness.' When people think about God's Will, most of us were raised hearing many things about what God's will is. Most of them relate to specific things in the world. But nobody seems to be able to agree on what God's will is. I've even heard some people say it's God's Will when one country invades another country. I've listened to bizarre things attributed to God's will, but in A Course in Miracles, Jesus says, God's will for you is perfect happiness. He doesn't say, kind of happy. He doesn't say predominantly happy; he says perfect happiness. But if you read the fine print, Jesus also said that a child of God is only happy in his natural environment, and our natural environment is Heaven.So while we perceive ourselves on planet Earth, we do not experience perfect happiness because perception itself is a veil to cover over the life of who we are. So perception, by definition, is a block to the awareness of the light. God does not believe some outcomes and perceptions are better than others, saying until you forgive the world and see the world with the Holy Spirit's perception, it's best to conclude that you don't know anything and you're willing to be shown. That's the best way to wake up every day. Your Eyes open in the morning, you look at the ceiling, and you go, "I'm clueless, show me. I need help. Show me what is beyond what I'm perceiving right now." It was saying come and get to know Me. Know Me as fulfillment, know Me as contentment, know Me as joy, know Me as peace, know Me as rest. When you're abundant, you have an awareness that you have everything and that you are everything, and therefore there's not a chance that an ego thought of scarcity, lack, or comparison can get in there.It's not about succeeding or failing in the world; it's about releasing all your definitions of what you thought success and failure are. Then you're left with the present moment, and it's hugely abundant. I mean, we experience miracles every day. They're so very natural because they come from our source and because we're not blocking them anymore. We're not trying to block the miracle. Why would we block the miracle when it's all around us? It's us. It's in us and all around us. Movie "Mary Magdalene" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopWe have an opportunity today with this movie because it cuts through all the ego's objections. It gives us a glimpse into all the aspects of resistance that we've had towards surrendering our will to God and God's will for perfect happiness. It shows us parts of the ego that we've guarded and protected and tried to keep, even though it brought us misery and suffering and sadness and hurt. It sounds ridiculous, but you know, Jesus tells us that the secret of salvation is that you are doing this to yourself. So, on the one hand, we don't have anyone to blame, and on the other hand, we can accept the correction, release the ego, and be happy. It's that simple. Now, it may seem difficult in practice, but I assure you that it's much more challenging to maintain the ego and try to live according to the ego's belief system than to let it go. A Course of Miracles teaches us how to trust in God and follow the guidance practically. It's teaching us how to let go of the ego, let go of attachments, let go of judgments, not because we're trying to be special, good, or right, but just because judgment is something God did not create. So we're giving ourselves a whammy. An opinion and judgment whammy, because when we try to judge, when we have opinions, we're trying to hold on to something that God didn't create and doesn't even know about. And that's not going to work if you want to be happy. Movie "The Speed of Thought" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopMost human beings experience having a train of thought that they call their own. Occasionally, they feel like there are a lot of judgments and opinions that some call the committee. It's when you feel very confused, and you have a lot of different conflicting thoughts in your mind.Today, the movie gives us a pretty good glimpse at the multiple voices in the mind, but it will take us into a much deeper experience of what Jesus is speaking about in A Course in Miracles. Most of the Course is directed towards forgiveness as Jesus taught it 2000 years ago. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. Knock, and the door shall be opened. Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all else will be added unto you. But in the movie today, Jesus is taking us further into that pristine state of the 'I Am Presence' that is prior to time. Jesus taught in the Bible, 'Before Abraham was I AM,' after he had reached a Christ state of mind, which is our true identity. God created us as the Christ in spirit, but this 'I Am Presence' is entirely covered by the veil of linear time and space. So, wow, we're on a deep ride together.
