Movie "Sweet November" - Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopTo meet my brother without a past. If you can experience this today, your life will be the most joyful, happy, vibrant life, beyond anything you can imagine, because when you can meet your brother without the past, you meet in the present moment where truth is found. In the Bible, Jesus says, take the stranger in. It doesn't mean you should be inviting people off the street to live in your house. It's another way of saying take the strange ego belief system into the light of your heart, and it will disappear, and you'll realize that there is only love. There has always only been love. Movie 'Life or Something Like It' - Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopDropping the mask and facing the fear of intimacy is the first voted theme for the movie today, and yes, we're ready for that one. Sometimes we think of the mask as our persona, our personality self. Still, Jesus would say, well, it's dropping your identification with the personality self, the persona, but really it's the whole world you perceive. The whole cosmos of time and space is your mask. Your personal mask is just a tiny part of it. So he would say; actually, it's like a big cosmic fig leaf covering your mind, hiding it in time and space, trying to deny your eternal reality as a perfect creation of God, as perfect spirit. So we need help. We're talking about more than a big fig leaf here; we're asking for the veil of time and space to be lifted from our awareness that we may go directly to the light. Movie "Now You See Me" - Movie Session Tabula Rasa Online Retreat with David HoffmeisterThe movie in this session is about magic and magicians, and maybe you don't think of your personal self as a magician. But the mind that made your personality self is the mind that believes in the ego, and the ego is the sponsor of all magic. So basically, as we go through the day, that's magic when we swipe a credit card or make an Apple Pay. So if somebody from the 14th century came and watched you pay with Apple Pay and got goods and services making a flick with a card, he would go, Oh, he is a wizard. But for the trick to be believed as real, the magician relies on trust and belief. When you put your trust and faith and belief in illusions, then we're into the realm of magic. A synonym for a magician is an illusionist, and believe it or not, all 7 billion people in the world are part of an illusion. In one sense, who you believe you are in this world is a great illusionist. Except for the part that you believe the illusion is real. Movie "The Preachers Wife" - Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopBeing 'done through' means being animated by the Holy Spirit and listening to only one voice and having only one purpose. And then everything that the body seems to say and do is coming from the Holy Spirit. There's no person that has to figure out how to be 'done through', it's happening just from your prayer in your heart, just from your desire. When you pray and say Holy Spirit - Jesus, use me! Being 'done through' is an expression of that. So when you talk about being 'done through' there's no personality self that really is deciding what it's going to do today. There's really no personality self that can decide things in the world. Am I going to be single or married? Am I going to live in this country or that country? Am I going to study this spirituality or that spirituality? No, the one that seems to be deciding the things of the world is the ego. And it's a joke, Jesus says, it's a joke to think that time can come to circumvent eternity. Movie "The Nines" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie WorkshopA lot of quantum movies, go far beyond the linear timeframe that the ego offers us, and our movie today "The Nines" is going way beyond what seems to be the accepted meaning and interpretation of this world. Most people on the planet Earth can relate to time as yesterday, today, tomorrow. But, there's something much, much deeper, that is available to us. Imagine one regular ordinary day, Maybe you're just doing the dishes, or you're taking a walk, and it suddenly dawns on you. I made it all up. I made it all up, I'm doing this unto myself. And I'm not talking about the New Age stuff like you can create your own reality. A Course in Miracles actually teaches that God is the creator of reality. But see, God is very deep. And you might go, wow, if God didn't have anything to do with the creation of the world. Movie "Solaris" - Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie Workshop"In today's movie workshop, we're calling on Jesus and the Holy Spirit to take us through the temptations of the ego. Beyond the darkness and all the shadows of this world. And we are joining in piercing the ego's veil together, and open our hearts to experience, pure love. That is our prayer. And we're going to explore how the principle of all that I give is given to myself and that the principle of giving and receiving is the same. We're going to do it through a space journey in which a space station is marooned very close to a planet, and the planet's name is Solaris. 'Solar' means light, and 'is' means is. So "Light is" is the main theme of the movie or "God is" like Jesus says in the workbook, "we say, God is, and then we cease to speak." The movie "Full of Grace" Commentary by David Hoffmeister - Weekly Online Movie Workshop "At one point, Jesus uses a metaphor in the Course, where he says, you have these fallen leaves from the trees landing on a stream, and the leaves float down along the river stream, and Jesus says; Come with me, sink beneath the leaves, sink down underneath the leaves with me into the Kingdom of Heaven. It's a beautiful metaphor for going into stillness, and that's really our purpose. We're going into a cloistered community, meaning we're going into a deep mystical experience together that some have called mysticism. We will still be broadcasting and sharing from this beautiful state of mind, but the actual state is beyond words. Closing Session - Tabula Rasa October Online Retreat with David Hoffmeister and Frances Xu David; I'm like a kid in a candy store with big eyes, beholding, what are you showing me now God? Always in the joy of what I'm being shown. Like our Tabula Rasa theme. Jesus told us in the course that, "You taught yourself this world and you taught yourself so thoroughly that you never paused for one moment to ask yourself, why?". Why am I teaching myself this world of separation. You never paused for a moment to look at the purpose, why am I doing this? That's why we have to unlearn the world. We've been at it for millenniums. Way beyond physical lifetimes. We are building something like a sandcastle that's not going to stand when the wave comes in. And when the wave does come in the ego screams. Now my sandcastle will be gone, like it was there in the first place. Don't regret letting go of what could never happen, that's not part of God's will. At some point, you have to get to that song from the movie Frozen. "Let it go, Let it go, Let it go. Not holding back any more."
