Episode 82 - All the ways you can with Kathy Davis of VegInspired

Today, I am joined by Kathy Davis of VegInspired. Kathy is a plant-based lifestyle and mindset coach, a Meal Planning Expert, the CEO of VegInspired, and the author of three cookbooks: The 30-Minute Whole-Food Plant-Based Cookbook, The Super Easy Plant-Based Cookbook, and The Budget-Friendly, Plant-Based Diet Cookbook, and a co-author of one personal development book: Absolute Vision. Kathy is on a mission to educate, inspire, and empower others about the power of plant-based eating in living thriving and successful lives. She operates on two primary mottos: 1) Eat More Plants and 2) Intention over Perfection. Kathy has been eating and creating vegan meals for more than nine years. Over the past 4 years, she shifted her daily habits to follow a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle. She experienced amazing results: renewed energy, 50-pound weight loss and maintenance, a newfound sense of joy, and a healthier mind and body! One tool that she used consistently to make plant-based eating a sustainable way of living was meal planning. She founded the Meal Plan Accountability Club to help others become efficient and effective meal planners. Kathy is dedicated to providing women (and men) with the resources to Eat More Plants. She is eager to guide others on their journey so that they can make a more significant impact in the world. Fun fact: Kathy and her husband, John, are living their plant-based dream while simultaneously traveling the United States in an RV with their cats. They've been to 33 states and 24 national parks so far and have a goal to visit all the US national parks! Episode 80 - A relatable vegan with writer and comedian Lisa Rimmert of On the Nose

Today, I am joined by Lisa Rimmert of On the Nose. Lisa is a standup comedian and writer based in the Seattle area. In 2021, she launched her company, On The Nose, LLC, through which she helps to change the world through effective and humane communication. Current and past clients have included Beyond Carnism, Farm Forward, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, and Volunteers of America. Lisa published her first book, a memoir, in 2022. Titled Stay: My Forever Friendship with an Aging Dog, it earned her a prestigious award for Best First Book from the Independent Book Publishers Association. She's currently working on a second dog-related memoir. When she's not writing, Lisa can be found telling jokes to audiences at bars and clubs around Seattle and beyond. A lifelong animal advocate, the topic of animals and their well-being serves as a through line connecting all of Lisa's projects. Lisa and I became fast friends, which I think will be pretty clear as you listen to this episode. The only thing stopping us from getting up to regular shenanigans is the fact that we live on opposite sides of the country.  I had the pleasure of reading her book Stay after Lisa and I recorded this episode so I’ll share my thoughts now. Buy the book, if you’ve ever loved a non-human animal you’ll find parts of yourself in this book. It brought me back to moments with my senior cat Cookie, that first moment you realize they’re a senior and each moment after. Lisa so beautifully captures her experience and friendship with beloved Dakota. It’s a beautiful and poignant tale I feel lucky to have read.  To connect with Lisa: www.onthenosecomms.com www.instagram.com/lisarimmy www.facebook.com/lisarimmy www.youtube.com/@lisarimmy www.tiktok.com/@lisarimmert To connect with me:Follow me on Facebook and Instagram @didyoubringthehummus Contact me here or send me an email at info@didyoubringthehummus.com Join my mailing list and get 3 free recipes just for signing up! https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/3recipepdf Join my Podcast Fan Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/didyoubringthehummus/ Book a free 30 minute call with me: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/book-online To be a guest on the podcast: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/beaguest ©2024 Kimberly Winters - Did You Bring the Hummus LLC Theme Song ©2020 JP Winters @musicbyjpw

Episode 78 - Change one thing, change your life with Adam Kelly of Green Edge Health

Today, I am joined by Adam Kelly of Green Edge Health. Adam offers diet-focused life coaching, empowering his clients to build a healthy relationship with food and use it as a tool to thrive, rather than cope. Adam himself struggled with emotional eating or using food to cope with the internal and external struggles in his life. He’d fall into negative habits and constantly feel trapped in a cycle of unhealthy eating that always made life that much harder. That was until he studied the power of life coaching and mindset work. The strategies he learned turned his life around for good and he’s never felt stronger or healthier and now it’s his life's mission is to pass this on to to his clients and you, the listener. Too many of us struggle with food in one way or another and it feels like an overwhelming nightmare that affects every area of our lives. It doesn't need to be this way and Adam has the solution for you. Adam walks us through how powerful our mindset is, how as mentioned in his bio, food can be a tool to thrive, why it matters to pay attention to the food messages you receive from those you love and the corporations who want you to buy their food, why some foods are crazy addictive, and more!  Schedule a free chat with Adam https://calendly.com/greenedgehealth/free-consultation Follow Adam: https://www.youtube.com/@GreenEdgeHealth  https://facebook.com/greenedgehealthhttps://www.instagram.com/GreenEdgeHealth/https://www.tiktok.com/@greenedgehealth Mentioned in this episode: They're trying to kill us - https://www.theyretryingtokillus.com/ Badass Vegan John Lewis - https://www.instagram.com/badassvegan/ Nutrition Facts - https://nutritionfacts.org/ PCRM - Dr. Neal Barnard - https://www.pcrm.org/ To connect with me:Follow me on Facebook and Instagram @didyoubringthehummus Contact me here or send me an email at info@didyoubringthehummus.com Join my mailing list and get 3 free recipes just for signing up! https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/3recipepdf Join my Podcast Fan Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/didyoubringthehummus/ Book a free 30 minute call with me: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/book-online To be a guest on the podcast: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/beaguest ©2024 Kimberly Winters - Did You Bring the Hummus LLC Theme Song ©2020 JP Winters @musicbyjpw

Episode 75 - Animal Liberation Now with Philosopher Peter Singer

Episode sponsored by Learn VeganicGrow your garden the vegan way!Free guide: https://learnveganic.com/materials/  Today, I am joined by the one and only, Philosopher Peter Singer. Recently retired from his role as Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University, (though when this episode was recorded he was teaching his final semester) Peter is often referred to as the “Father of the modern animal rights movement.” Journalists tagged him as the “world’s most influential living philosopher.” Peter believes this is attributed to the work within ethical treatment of animals and of the influence that his writing has had on development of effective altruism. When I mentioned to a friend that I would interviewing Peter, they said to me “that guy is pretty controversial” (would he be a philosopher if he wasn’t?) Peter attributes statements like this to his controversial critique of the sanctity of life ethics in bioethics. He is the author of Animal Liberation and the updated Animal Liberation Now and several other books on rights, Effective Altruism, and more.  To connect with Peter: Visit his website: www.petersinger.info Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/peter__singer Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PeterSingerOfficialPage Twitter: https://twitter.com/PeterSinger Mentioned in this episode: Richard Keshen Jeremy Bentham Animal Machines - Ruth Harrison The Vegan Society Animals, Men, & Morals - Stanley Godlovitch Effective Altruism To connect with me:Follow me on Facebook and Instagram @didyoubringthehummus Contact me here Join my mailing list and get 3 free recipes just for signing up! https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/3recipepdf Join my Podcast Fan Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/didyoubringthehummus/ Book a free 30 minute call with me: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/book-online To be a guest on the podcast: https://www.didyoubringthehummus.com/beaguest ©2024 Kimberly Winters - Did You Bring the Hummus LLC Theme Song ©2020 JP Winters @musicbyjpw
