dealing with change in your 20's

When we asked on our instagram for episode topics you'd be interested to hear, a lot of them were about some type of change - in jobs, in location, in relationships, in bodies etc. So we thought we'd combine them all into one big ol' episode all about CHANGE.  Especially in our twenties, we are having to confront different types of changes - moving away from home, going from being a student to a young professional, growing apart from certain friendships or watching our bodies age for the first time (to just name a few examples). In this episode, we touch on our personal experiences and how we've coped/are currently coping with these changes. So... please pour yourself a matcha and enjoy listening! 🍵 Follow us on instagram (@the.matcha.diaries) to stay up to date on our lives, contribute to future episodes & tell us your thoughts on change. matcha chat #2: letting go of negative self-talk

Welcome back to episode 2 of our “matcha chats” series - episodes that are filled with heart-spilling topics we care about and want to get off our chests! This week is a little different to our usual episodes, as it will just be me, Cara <3  I thought I would sit down and do a chatty episode on a topic that i know is super relatable, and essentially something that in the past year or so I’ve noticed is taking over me in ways that i don’t want it to. This episode is all about negative self talk and our inner critic. I dive into what negative self talk and our inner critic truly is, I share the common forms that it shows itself, and go into some of my personal experiences (how it affects my self image, relationships and work). I also did a little bit of research so that we could work together to stop this negative voice and ultimately... be our own best friend! So... please do pour yourself a matcha and enjoy listening! 🍵 Follow us on instagram (@the.matcha.diaries) to stay up to date on our lives, contribute to future episodes & tell us your thoughts on what we spoke about! Why do we self sabotage?

Do you experience a lot of negative self talk? Do you avoid things a lot? Procrastinate through mindless scrolling? and chronically worry? Then you might be self sabotaging and you don't even know it! Self sabotage occurs when we destroy ourselves physically, mentally, or emotionally to hinder our own success and wellbeing by undermining personal goals and values.. it can be conscious behaviour or unconscious, and presents itself in many different facets of a persons everyday life ( I.e romantic relationships, career, education, family relationships) (Brenner, 2019). In part 1, we understand what it really means to be self sabotaging, we uncover what these behaviours and patterns may look like and share our own personal experiences.. we also encourage you to sit down and journal / list some of the behaviours. In part 2 coming next week, we will dive into the science behind it and understand why our brains are wired this way. We also uncover how can we get better at identifying when we are self sabotaging and break the pattern? So pour yourself a matcha and join us! 💚 If you want to reach out to us or see any recent updates you can follow us on @the.matcha.diaries! Spring clean with us - mentally & physically

As the days are getting longer and we're past the worst of the cold winter months.. more than ever we want to consciously make the most of the coming spring.  That’s what this episode is all about - going into these (hopefully) warmer months with better habits, mindsets and in general a brighter attitude. Join us as we share some positive habits we want to implement but also share our thoughts on the darker side of spring. We talk about dealing with burnout whilst wanting to make the most of the good weather or keep up with friends. And lastly, a struggle we wish nobody had to deal with … learning to accept (and appreciate) our bodies as we move away from the oversized layers and show more of our bodies! So pour yourself a matcha and join us! 💚 If you want to reach out to us or see any recent updates you can follow us on @the.matcha.diaries!

"ask cara & leo" pt 2 - mental health advice

Welcome to the second instalment of “Ask Cara & Leo” - our bestie style advice series. This episode is about a topic we feel very passionate about ... our mental health. A few of our listener questions we answer are: - “what advice would you give someone who doesn’t feel like their good enough?” - “how to react to people making comments about your body?” - “when to know you need to start therapy?” - “how to rest without feeling guilty?” As always, we want to caveat that we are in no way professionals. All advice we share is from our own personal experiences, and if you are struggling with your mental health, we do advise that you speak to a professional, or even your close family/friends who can guide you on the best help that you can get. 🤍 If you’d like to submit advice questions for a future episode or generally chat to us, then follow us on @the.matcha.diaries.
