Christopher Rufo, an American conservative activist and Manhattan Institute fellow, passionately critiques diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in education. He argues these initiatives undermine meritocracy and proposes reforms like merit-based admissions. The discussion highlights the benefits of a return to classical education, countering the ideological imbalance in academia. Rufo also addresses the importance of diverse perspectives, the need for educational reform in Ivy League institutions, and advocates for a balanced approach to sex education without political bias.

In this book, Christopher F. Rufo uncovers the hidden history of left-wing intellectuals and militants who captured America’s institutions, including universities, corporations, and schools. He profiles key figures like Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, and Derrick Bell, showing how their ideas have profoundly influenced American culture. The book argues that these activists aim to replace constitutional equality with a race-based redistribution system overseen by bureaucratic ‘diversity and inclusion’ officials. Rufo’s work is both an historical analysis and a call to action against critical race theory and its implications on American society.
Christopher Rufo is an American conservative activist and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. He is an opponent of critical race theory and has worked to bring about its regulation in the school system. In January 2023 he was appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to the board of trustees of New College of Florida. Rufo has also worked alongside the Governor to counter the spread of LGBTQ+ ideology.
