A Performer's Guide to Being Stage Ready with Jonathan Munoz

Today we have my good friend Jonathan Munoz joining us on this all-new episode of the PT Profit Podcast. Jonathan is a coach who works with stage performers, and he talks us through how he assesses performers and what makes that different from assessing a standard gen-pop client. In this episode, we also talked about prioritizing performers' fitness over aesthetic goals and what to focus on while training. Sometimes instead of aiming to hit the choreography that they feel is not yet perfect for them, a performer might instead look at honing in on the intermediary steps that get you from Point A to Point B. As a former performer myself, recording this episode was a treat! There are so many misconceptions that performers tend to live by, so I was pumped to break those down with Jonathan. Performers don't just need to attend classes specific to their skill. Performers are athletes, and so few of them recognize that fact. Jonathan and I talk about what performers can do while in production and during their "off seasons."You'll get to hear Jonathan and I dive into:- Things that performers should be focusing and doing in the "off season."- What approach a trainer should take when training an arts performer.- What performers should focus in terms of strength training.       About Today's GuestJonathan Munoz has been in the fitness industry for eleven years, nurturing the ability to operate under different systems and frameworks to drive human performance. From the beginning of his career coaching young athletes to now training CEOs, young professionals, and Broadway performers, he has learned to optimize movement development and performance in a variety of disciplines. Jonathan strives to create a context in which an individual can develop resilience to face the demands of high performance by addressing smart training, conditioning, nutrition, stress, recovery, mobility, sport specificity, pre- and post-pregnancy, postural restoration, and more. Jonathan Munoz PerformanceJonathan's Broadway Athletes ProgramJonathan's FREE Broadway Week.Jonathan on InstagramJoin my Facebook community! Are you a new fitness entrepreneur looking to attract clients? How To Save on Taxes as a Small Business Owner with John Briggs

Coaches, there are very few things that are certain in life, but one of those things are unfortunately taxes. As an entrepreneur, they can be particularly tricky because you aren't just dealing with your personal finances. You're also dealing with your business. Do you LLC? Are you a sole proprietor? What about S-Corp?Thankfully in this episode, I have John Briggs, Founder & CEO of Incite Tax & Accounting joining me. John is also the author of Profit First for Microgyms: A Simple System for Healthy Cashflow. A lot of marketers out there misrepresent their actual revenue, using smoke and mirrors to get on various Top Business lists and boost their image. We touch on the importance of looking back at your previous year to do a cash flow analysis to gauge how healthy your business is, and we take a deep dive into the not so sexy side of business. Are you still paying for things that you thought you canceled? Maybe even paying for duplicates of things, which are cutting into your revenue? John walks us through how to check. You don't want to miss this episode! You'll hear:- How to determine the health of your business.- The various types of businesses and what might be best for you.- Write offs!...and so much more.       About Today's GuestJohn Briggs is the founder of Incite Tax & Accounting and the author of Profit First For Microgyms. His accounting firm has more gym clients than any other firm in the country as well as thousands of other client-driven businesses, and he is also an owner of a gym, GSL Fitness.Through all of this, he has learned that achieving a highly profitable business can be overwhelming, particularly with all the barriers and unknowns that new owners are forced to deal with. Entrepreneurs can quickly become stressed and burnt out, and often sadly give up on the mission that they set out for. In much the same way that the body needs blood to survive, a business needs cash, the lifeblood of the business, to stay healthy and to grow more resilient. To this end, John is a man on a mission to give entrepreneurs an actual work-life balance so they don’t get burned out. He helps them increase their cash immediately so they can have confidence in their choices and become financially resilient. And he talks the walk by battling against the traditional CPA culture of “overwork, underpaid, pay your dues and suffer while you’re at it” mentality by providing his team a healthy work life balance even during busy tax seasons.Incite TaxIncite Tax on Instagram This is a public episode. So when he found himself in the small town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Nick feared he wouldn’t find anything new to learn. Little did he know, it was there he would start his journey to become The Manual Man.It was in this small town that Nick happened to meet the Godfather of Manual therapy and founder of Institute of Physical Art Dr. Gregg Johnson. In the presence of Dr. Johnson, Nick witnessed pain cured with the slightest touch. Nick was humbled, and knew he had found the knowledge he was looking for - healing, with just your hands. He was invited to shadow Dr. Johnson as well as the other great therapists of Johnson & Johnson. For the greater part of a year, Nick watched their every move, learning how to heal with precision and intention. Equipped with his newfound knowledge for healing and inspiration, Nick returned to the streets of NYC. It was there that he met Andreas Saltas, the Bodmechanic. Dr. Saltas & Nick worked side by side, exploring and imbuing the full potential of breath and its impact on posture and pain in the human body. It was then that Nick had a revelation. It was only through the combination of breath, touch, and a constant thirst for knowledge that he could truly heal the world. He decided to step up and be what he was born to be: The Manual Man, committing himself to four cornerstone beliefs: LEARN, TEACH, LOVE, HEAL.Now, Dr. Nick has a practice in NYC, and travels the world teaching, healing, and learning. The Manual ManDr. Nick Torres on InstagramThe Manual Man Physical Therapy on Facebook This is a public episode.
