Hair Restoration: How PRP & Laser Light Therapy Treat Androgenetic Alopecia w/Dr. Alan Bauman
Hair thinning and loss can have a negative impact on a man’s confidence, and often the people dealing with it don’t know what to do. What are some of the biggest strides medicine and surgery have made in solving this issue? How can laser light therapy, PRP, also be used to help? What does the treatment process entail? On this episode, leading hair transplant surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman shares on solutions for androgenetic alopecia. Laser light therapy is a non-chemical, non-invasive and side-effect-free way to get better hair growth. -Dr. Alan Bauman Four Takeaways Laser lights cause an increase in energy production that’s going to rejuvenate skin, take away pain and improve the functioning of one of the most highly metabolic cell populations in your body: the hair follicle. If you don’t have androgen sensitivity, no amount of testosterone will cause male pattern hair loss. If you don’t have a viable follicle with hair over 2 mm in length, the only thing that will bring hair back is a transplant. PRP for hair regeneration: There’s a dose-dependent response at the tissue level related to the concentration, and how stem cells mobilize. The more platelets concentrate, the better they mobilize and proliferate. At the start of the show, Dr. Alan shared how he got started, and why hair restoration doesn’t have to be painful. Next, we talked about how hair loss can impact your self-esteem and the use of low-level laser devices to regenerate growth. We also discussed whether all men on TRT will experience hair thinning or loss. We also discussed: How to create a physiologic regenerative effect with PRP Compliance and how lifestyle plays a goal The cost of a laser vs. topicals and medication Losing hair is a challenge that leaves many people feeling like their youth and vitality is slipping away, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Investing in a laser light is one way you can start to get your hair back. If you buy a good quality one, it will last decades. PRP is another worthy solution that can help regenerate hair growth, but time is of the essence. For any androgenetic alopecia, if you want to save the maximum amount of hair, get started soon if you want the best result over time. Guest Bio- Alan J. Bauman, MD, ABHRS, IAHRS, FISHRS is a full-time hair transplant surgeon who founded his medical practice in Boca Raton, FL in 1997 and has treated nearly 20,000 patients and performed over 8,000 hair transplant surgeries to date. He is the founder, CEO and medical director at Bauman Medical. For more information, go to https://www.baumanmedical.com/.

How to Optimize Based on Your Available Options w/Sam Cook and Michael Kocsis
People are struggling to access hormone therapy all over the world. What are the benefits of TOT that it’s critics don’t seem to see? What options are available for those who genuinely want to optimize their health? On this episode, Sam Cook and Michael Kocsis of Balance my Hormones are here to discuss the options available in the UK. TRT should be the first line of defense for treatment of anything. -Jay Campbell Three Takeaways There’s very little preventative medicine in the UK (or anywhere for that matter). Most medical systems are based on a sick care model. In so many patients, optimizing testosterone has been the only thing able to treat anxiety, depression and suicidal thinking. The UK has a private healthcare sector where patients can access TRT. This sector actually often ends up being more affordable for the patient, meaning there is an amazing opportunity for more people to benefit from optimization. At the start of the episode, we discussed how TRT is viewed in Europe in general, and the UK in particular. We then spoke about the different options men have for optimization- namely, injections or topical cream. After discussing the merits of each, we agreed that there is a need for treatments to be prescribed according to each individual’s biochemical needs. We also discussed; That a lot of the doctors simply don’t know what they’re doing with optimization because they haven’t been trained correctly Why you should choose between injections and cream, based on your needs and preference That it’s becoming harder for high-profile sick care figures to discredit TRT The TOT revolution is only just beginning. There is still considerable pushback all over the world, and doctors continue to shy away from TOT because their training has not taught them enough about hormones. However, there is hope for the future. More and more people are able to access the correct information about optimization. Plus, private sector TOT in the UK is surprisingly affordable. The revolution is in its early stages, but will only gain momentum as it progresses. Guest Bio- Michael Kocsis is the founder and Managing Director at Balance My Hormones Ltd. Michael is passionate about helping people with their hormone imbalances, so that they can become the best versions of themselves. Michael is at the forefront of the TRT revolution. Sam Cook of Balance My Hormones Ltd strongly believes that patient experience is of huge importance. While he acknowledges that social media has become important to businesses, Sam advocates for giving patients the best possible care they can get. The Lies We Believe About "Lifestyle" w/Dr. Steven Devos
We’re taught how to take care of ourselves when we’re sick, but not how to prevent it from happening in the first place. How does our society lead us to believe that we need to live unhealthy lifestyles? Which bad habits are we developing because they’re seen as ‘normal’? On this episode, I’m joined by the host of ‘The Lifting Dermatologist’ Youtube channel, Dr. Steven Devos, to discuss the lies we’ve been taught about a normal lifestyle. Three Takeaways In most countries, medical schools do not teach students about hormones, prevention, or nutrition at all. People who are genuinely concerned about their health are repeatedly demonized and ‘fit shamed’ for not abiding by unhealthy norms. Enjoyment has been prioritized in our societies, and we’ve been taught that genuine enjoyment comes from unhealthy foods. We also discussed: That diet is about more than eating. Alcohol consumption is not ‘clean’ eating How so many doctors and ministers of health fail to lead by example with their poor lifestyle choices Why pharmaceutical companies are really providing you with medication to live longer Almost everything the general public knows about so-called ‘healthcare’ comes from doctors. Those doctors are influenced by pharmaceutical companies, and it’s fair to say a large portion of them prescribe medication unnecessarily. Often, a lot of the things you’re treating with medication could also be solved by a lifestyle shift. Focus on keeping yourself healthy and block out the noise that suggests you should ‘enjoy’ yourself with unhealthy habits. Real enjoyment comes when you’re at your healthiest, most optimized self. Guest Bio- Dr. Steven Devos is a dermatologist based in Belgium. Having started his journey with testosterone therapy because of his inability to access hormones, today he is an advocate for using testosterone for body optimization. Dr. Devos started his own YouTube channel and has received amazing feedback for his phenomenal content.

The Real Reason Why Most Doctors Still Don’t Prescribe Testosterone w/Dr. Tracy Gapin
With so many studies proving the importance and efficacy of testosterone, it’s infuriating when doctors don’t seem to take note. Why are so many medical professionals refusing to use testosterone in patients? Are any of the supposed risks even valid? On this episode, I’m joined by board-certified urologist and epigenetics expert, Dr. Tracy Gapin. Three Takeaways A lot of the supposed risks of using testosterone therapy are entirely false. For example, while testosterone was thought to be linked to prostate cancer, studies have shown that men with too little testosterone actually have a higher risk. Medical schools do not teach students about the benefits of testosterone. This is a major reason why so many doctors don’t use it— they simply don’t have enough knowledge. Testosterone has a bad reputation in the medical field because it has been misused for financial gain. At the start of the episode, Dr. Tracy Gapin explained why he believes the current healthcare model is broken. He explained why he’s looking into preventative and proactive medicine, rather than waiting to get sick before finding solutions. We then spoke about why the medical industry needs to start looking at healthcare more holistically, and we shared observations on the depiction of testosterone in the media and in literature. We also discussed: That couples should get optimized together- this is a team process Why you should consider doing DNA tests How your environment and lifestyle significantly affect your health For many doctors, the choice not to use testosterone therapeutically comes from a lack of knowledge, rather than bad intentions. Medical schools do not provide adequate knowledge of hormones. The reality is, there are so many factors involved in proactive medicine- from examining lifestyle to tailoring hormones to the patient’s needs. We need to take a more holistic approach to maintaining our health. Guest Bio- Dr. Tracy Gapin is a board-certified urologist and epigenetics expert. He’s the founder of Sarasota Prostate Care, as well as Smart Men’s Health. Dr Gapin is passionate about teaching people to live with intention and reclaim their health by focussing on their nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset. Why We Need to Change the Way We Think About Estrogen w/Russ Scala
Many men are under the impression that high levels of estrogen are a bad thing, and have started taking AI’s as a result. Where does this assumption come from? Is there any truth to it at all? On this episode, medical research pioneer, Russ Scala is back to talk about the problem with prevailing views of estrogen. Three Takeaways Blocking estrogen is one of the most dangerous things you can do to your body. By taking AI’s- even in tiny doses- you’ll damage your endothelial lining. High estrogen levels do not exist. What is often misconstrued as high estrogen levels is actually high insulin, obesity and visceral fat. A lot of what has come to be accepted about estrogen comes from the bodybuilding industry, not the medical industry. Make sure you’re concentrating on biological facts. At the start of the episode, Russ and I discussed how paying attention to hormones could help doctors cure multiple ailments. We discussed that the reason doctors don’t pay attention to hormones is because basic biology doesn’t suit pharmaceutical companies’ business models. Both of us agreed that the sheer amount of disinformation online is further affecting the way we value estrogen. We also discussed; Why estrogen is important for your body’s functioning That testosterone is not just linked to sex- it’s a life-giving hormone essential for both men and women Why you have to educate yourself, rather than relying on doctors to have your best interest at heart So much of what we’ve come to accept as normal comes from completely inaccurate theories. The popularity of online groups, frequented by body builders taking AI’s, means that those genuinely seeking advice are likely to be given false information. This is further complicated by the fact that a lot of doctors, backed up by pharmaceutical companies, are sharing disinformation for their financial gain. At the end of the day, what we need to do is be educated so that we can take care of ourselves- because no one else will. Guest Bio- Russ is the founder of Scala Precision Health. Coming from a family with a strong history in the medical industry, Russ became involved on the business during his teen years. After serving as a paramedic in the fire department in Central Florida, and the Orlando SWAT team, Russ has gone on to research health in athletes and now, everyday people. With access to testing facilities, research labs and more, Russ is now widely regarded as a medical research pioneer. The Power of Martial Arts & Conscious Commitment to Optimization w/Nick Gregoriades
For men today, we encounter so much in our day-to-day trying to get our attention, leading us away from our innate, raw, masculine essence. Why is it so important to reconnect with our physicality? Why are practices like meditation and changing your languaging so beneficial in optimization? On this episode, I’m joined by founder of the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood, Nick Gregoriades. We have a deep conversation about what we can do to overcome our “lizard brain” thinking and all the things that hold us back. Takeaways Martial arts allows men to channel their masculine energy and tap into their physicality in a way that the modern existence doesn’t allow for. Testosterone, optimized hormones, and meditation are the edge of getting back that innate masculine presence. If you’re not centered physically, that is reflected in the spirit. Most people’s minds are so busy, distracted and splintered, they need to meditate and silence their minds for at least 40 minutes. Nick and I discussed how martial arts can help you overcome your ego, and the importance of being physically centered. Next, we talked about meditation and why most people need to practice it for at least 40 minutes a day. We also discussed plant medicine and the insights Nick got from taking it, and how language and words can limit your reality. We also talked about dark nights of the soul, hitting rock bottom and why that is so necessary in spiritual development. We also discussed: Why you have to stop caring what people think of you Benefits of yoga How to gain success without sacrificing your soul With so many things competing for our attention, clogging our brains and blocking our spiritual growth and development, it’s so important for us to ground ourselves physically. The body and the spirit are connected, and any time we neglect the body, we also compromise our souls. What also gets in the way are practices that are constructed by ego and greed. The way to win the game is to overcome those instincts and do the inner work. If we’re committed to taking the action and staying the course, we can achieve incredible things. The Importance of Sleep & The Threat of Artificial Blue Light Exposure w/James Swanwick
Sleep deprivation leads to so many biological system defects, and nothing impacts it as badly as our excessive exposure to artificial blue light. What are the biggest sources of this blue light, and how does it differ from natural blue light? What does it do to our health, and what can we do about it? How does alcohol consumption also affect our health and ability to sleep properly? On this episode, I’m joined by Swanwick Sleep founder, James Swanwick, who shares on his work helping people improve their sleep, how he got into making fashionable blue light blockers, and why he became alcohol-free. Four Takeaways Not all blue light is bad. In fact, the sun is the biggest emitter of blue light, and getting sun exposure during the day is good. Overexposure to artificial blue light is what’s bad for us. Everytime we stare into our devices without eye protection, we’re blasting our eyes with mini suns which affects our pituitary and pineal glands. This is what causes issues for our sleep and health. Drinking, even a little, may seem harmless, but it can have catastrophic effects on health, focus, sleep, and even how we look. When it comes to wearing blue light blockers, remember this rule: clear lenses for daytime and orange for nighttime. At the start of the show, James shared on his background, and we talked about why sleep is so important. We covered why it’s essential for replenishing and restoring the body, the difference between natural and artificial blue light, and how the latter negatively impacts our bodies. James shared the story of how he started his blue blocker company and all the other health-related work he does. We also discussed: How our super high-def TV screens affect our eyesight and health The 30-day no alcohol challenge and how alcohol suppresses consciousness Developing a muscle of gratitude Nature intends us to get 6-8 hours of good quality sleep every night, but the man-made stuff we use daily is compromising our sleep and our health. Sleep is essential for so many biological functions and systems, and if we don’t prioritize it, we’re doing a lot of harm. Artificial blue light tricks our bodies into thinking that it’s daytime all the time, meaning we won’t produce the melatonin we need. Don’t underestimate what this does to your whole body and the long-term negative effects. Ultimately, you want to put your best foot forward and that’s impossible without good sleep. Guest Bio- James is the founder of Swanwick Sleep, Swannies Blue Light Blockers, the 30-Day No Alcohol Challenge and Project 90. He is also a New York-based ESPN anchor on SportsCenter, author of ‘Insider Journalism Secrets’ and co-founder of international agency, Crocmedia. Uses of Stem Cell Therapy & Common Misconceptions About Treatment w/Dr. Joy Kong
One of the most amazing developments in medicine is stem cell therapy and our ability to use life itself to regenerate our bodies. What are some of the conditions that can be treated with stem cell therapy? Is stem cell treatment safe and legal? On this episode, I’m joined by regenerative medicine expert and Chara Biologics founder, Dr. Joy Kong. We discuss her work with stem cell therapy and how it can help people stay healthy and regenerate their bodies. Three Takeaways Stem cells have to be minimally manipulated. Using enzymes changes them, and it can digest certain surface receptors. Not all stem cells are created equal. Mesenchymal stem cells have anti-cancer properties and put the immune system in a more balanced state. Stem cells from an older person are more sluggish, and they already have toxic build up so they don’t work as well. Birth tissue stem cells have a higher potency, so they are much more effective. At the start of the show, Dr. Joy Kong shares how she got to where she is now, and how she aims to integrate different types of medicine. Next she shared more information on stem cell therapy including how legal it is, if the FDA regulations are justified, and the use of stem cell therapy for cardiovascular issues. We also discussed: Conditions that can be treated with stem cell therapy The use of stem cells to treat infertility Stem cell therapy is the future of health and regenerative medicine, but right now the medical industry is just not open-minded enough to adopt it yet. As a result, this movement is largely patient-driven, as doctors are more reluctant than their own patients. Medicine often lags behind the science, and this leaves people unable to access treatments that could make a huge difference in their lives. Guest Bio- Joy Kong, M.D. is the founder of Chara Biologics, a company dedicated to providing cutting-edge regenerative medicine products in the US and the global market. Metabolic Flexibility, The Best Way to Regulate Fat Loss & Choosing the Right Dieting Strategy w/Benjamin Brown
So many people are jumping on the low calorie bandwagon, without knowing that they are sabotaging their metabolism and general health. What factor causes a huge amount of diet failure? What is metabolic flexibility, and why is it what we should be implementing into our health and nutrition? Why is jumping into an aggressive diet and exercise program one of the worst things you can do? On this episode, Bob Brown is back to share on why we shouldn’t become focused on only one method for weight loss and fitness, and why we need to be flexible in our calorie intake. Four Takeaways Metabolic flexibility is just the ability to jump between high calories and low calories depending on the energy demands, environmental demands and stress demands. When you go low in calories, you create a massive discrepancy between your calorie intake and hormonal output. This leads to problems in energy, appetite, libido, cognitive function, sleep, and digestion. Metabolism is this adaptive and reactive mechanism the body has in place, it’s our brain communicating with other parts of the body to facilitate certain responses. Hormones matter as much as calories when it comes to weight loss. At the start of the show, Ben shared on why he transitioned out of the supplement space and his issues with the supplement industry. We talked about the importance of establishing your values and non-negotiables in your life, and working on being the most functional version of yourself. We also talked about why it’s difficult to find a diet and nutritional method that’s going to work consistently. We also talked about; The causes of diet failure Signs that your metabolic output is out of sync and balance How your body utilizes different fuel sources The problem with a lot of the diet and nutrition programs we use is that they lack flexibility and balance meaning that the metabolism swings too far, and that’s when people start to experience difficulties in energy, hunger, libido, cognitive function, sleep, and digestion. Instead of focusing on jumping into an aggressive exercise program, it’s better to focus on your nutritional and lifestyle behaviour and the things that help manage their hormonal output because that’s what will create a caloric deficit in a healthier way. We have to maintain balance within a flexible environment so we don’t go too far down one path because that doesn’t do anything for our bodies. Guest Bio- Ben is the owner of BSL Nutrition, an online nutrition & fitness consulting business specializing in designing individualized nutrition, lifestyle, and strength training programs for highly driven men (and a few brave women). How to Insulate Yourself Against a Toxic, Hostile Environment With Optimization w/Daniel Kelly
The best way to sum up our existence right now is that the environment is conspiring against us. What are the telltale signs that we’re in deep trouble? Why is optimization really the only way we can fight back? How does testosterone completely change you for the better? On this episode, my friend and mentee, Daniel Kelly is back to talk about his book Optimized Under 35, his own journey to optimization and why the work we’re doing is so necessary. Three Takeaways The difference in your physicality, spirituality, confidence and outlook on life is completely different before and after testosterone optimization. Without an optimal balance of testosterone in the human body, both men and women suffer. If a child is born to a mother who used birth control and an IUD, they will have a 2nd or 3rd generation epigenetic defect somewhere in their biological system. At the start of the show, Daniel shared why his book is such a passion project and his life pre-testosterone and post-testosterone. Next, we talked about how your spirituality shifts with optimization, and how bad lifestyle choices lead to a testosterone deficiency. We also discussed the importance of reducing stress. We also discussed; How chronic low level exposure to toxins is causing problems Why doctors aren’t resource they once were The three-pronged approach to optimization We are dealing with a widespread, undocumented and wholly acknowledged disaster among young males. This isn’t a conspiracy theory; this is admitted, substantiated, and documented science. It’s past time for us to be debating whether optimization is good or not, because frankly, it’s the only weapon we have to claw back our health and fertility. Testosterone is the lifeblood molecule that is essential to overall health, and the sooner we give it to more people in need of it, the higher our chance of saving humanity. Guest Bio- Daniel is the author of the upcoming book Optimized Under 35 and contributor on totrevolution.com. Find him on Twitter @danielkellytrt and to join his life to find out about the book, go to http://optimizedunder35.com/.
