E.59 How Running Everyday Can Change Your Life and Become Your Career With Savannah Sachdev

In this episode, we are joined by Savannah Sachdev, known on social media as Confused Indian Girl. In 2020 Savannah lost her job and felt lost and hopeless with her mental health being at an all-time low, this led her to go on walks to clear her head which turned into jogs and before she knew it she had run every day for three weeks and decided to keep going and never stop. It has now been 675 days and Savannah has run a minimum of a mile every day! Which has not only improved her mental health dramatically but has completely changed her life. She is now working for amazing brands such as Lululemon and Strarva, she has built a community of people around her who follow her and support her which she has never had before and she has a whole new purpose in life which is to promote movement outside no matter how long or far it is.Savannah and I also talk about her boob reduction which is a fascinating topic and one that is often not discussed enough. Growing up she felt over-sexualised and insecure due to having big boobs and so her reduction has also been the making of her confidence today and also given her the ability to run like she can now.Other topics we discuss:Life before running How the run streak startedRules of the run streak The affect running everyday has on your bodyRecovery and how you do that whilst running everydayDiet and lifestyle and how that has changedBoob reductionGetting bullied at schoolGrowing up in an Indian FamilyWhat running has taught her about herselfTo follow Savannah and her run streak check her out on Instagram @savannahsachdev or TikTok @confusedindiangirlTo learn more about becoming a Greedy Vegan head to www.greedyvegan.uk or follow us at @greedyveganltdOur host Georgia can be found at @georgia.symonds Hosted on Acast. E.58 Being Your Best Self and Not Comparing Yourself To Others with Angus Warburton

This week we are joined by Angus Warburton who is a fitness coach, podcast host and author of the book "Are You Really Living?".In this episode, we discuss his journey to where he is today in building his fitness career and why he chose this path in life. Angus is part of the Warburtons family and therefore could have followed in his Fathers' footsteps and gone into the family business. However, fitness had such an impact on Angus's life, it started out as an escape, a focus and a goal but turned into a passion where he wanted others to feel the positive effects of fitness in the way that he did.Angus has now been in the fitness industry for 5 years and is a firm believer in not only the physical benefits that come with exercise but also the lifestyle and mental benefits too. This episode digs deep into a lot of hot topics that we are confronted with on a regular basis, although we touch on the importance of fitness and diet we also discuss the effect social media has had on society, how we live in a comparison culture where we are constantly comparing ourselves to the top 1% of society which creates unrealistic expectations that leads to a cycle of self-loathing and a lot of self-criticism. Angus also shares his decision to not go to University and the benefit this has had on where he is today. Although University is fantastic for careers in professions such as Law and Medicine, it shouldn't be expected of everyone and Angus firmly believes his decision to not go has helped him hugely to where he is today. The other topics we discuss are:Angus's childhood and early daysHis journey to fitnessGrowing a platform on social mediaHow exercise can become obsessiveSteroids and the negative effect they have on youPersistence and motivationDiet, Weight loss and balanceSleep University His podcast To find out more about becoming a Greedy Vegan head to www.greedyvegan.uk Angus Warburton:@angus_warburton Hosted on Acast. Ep.56 Mikey Pearce; His Journey to Taking Plant Based to the Mainstream with Clean Kitchen

We are joined by Mikey Pearce, former YouTuber and now the Founder and CEO of Clean Kitchen. Mikey's journey to Clean Kitchen started from a personal health kick, like many of us Mikey spent the lockdown days eating healthier and focusing on a more plant-based diet, as well as getting into his fitness. Mikey ended up losing 16kg and thought that if he was enjoying a plant-based diet then surely others would too. This is what lead him to his mission to bring plant-based to the mainstream and although Mikey doesn't come from a background in food, he does have a flare for building brands, so he decided to build a plant-based brand and promote it like an artist was promoting an album. At the time plant-based wasn't looked at as cool but Mikey wanted to make it a destination, somewhere people wanted to hang out and a brand that other brands wanted to partner with for events to bring plant-based to the masses.Although this concept sounds amazing the reality of it is challenging and the brand has accelerated at a rapid pace so we talk to Mikey about his journey to date, the highs and the lows and what is coming next. The topics we discuss:Life before Clean Kitchen Lifestyle as a YouTuber compared to lifestyle now His journey to plant-based and healthier living Where the idea for Clean Kitchen came from Making an idea realityBringing Verity on board and how the two complement each other The pace at which Clean Kitchen has grown Biggest ChallengeWhat does the future of Clean Kitchen look like If you haven't tried out Clean Kitchen head to their flagship restaurant in Battersea Powerstation and look out for their next one coming to Central London soon Hosted on Acast. Ep.55 Annie Morris Co-Founder of Spoon Cereal; The Graft of Building a Sustainable Business

Annie Morris started Spoon Cereal at the age of 23 with her Co-Founder and now Brother in Law Jonathan Shimmin. After going on Dragons Den and getting offers from both Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden there at the time small breakfast bar pop up catapulted into being a part of the FMCG industry and after being viewed by millions of people it completely turned their business upside down. However in comparison to other brands in the granola space Spoon has lower brand awareness and this is because they have been slowly and quietly plugging away in the background in order to grow sustainably and stand the test of time. Other brands have come and gone whilst Spoon has been going from strength to strength, being the first in the granola space to bring out a pro-biotic granola and now going on to expand into the cereal market. This podcast highlights the value of slow and steady wins the race and whilst we are in an environment where investment, angels and venture capital get talked about very often sometimes step by step and not running before you can walk also works. In this episode Annie and I discuss:The journey from the early days where they had a breakfast pop up at popular commuter locationsThe decision for Annie to quit her job and focus on SpoonThe relationship between the co-foundersThe graft that went in to the early daysDragons Den The granola market as a whole in 2013 and now in 2023The cereal market vs granola marketProbiotic GranolaAnnie's relationship with granola To hear more about being a Greedy Vegan head to www.greedyvegan.uk or follow us at @greedyveganltd Hosted on Acast. This week I am so excited to be joined by Marisa Poster Co-Founder of Perfect Ted the Matcha based energy drink which is aimed to introduce consumers to Matcha in a more approachable way! Matcha is made from Green Tea, so it is a caffeinated drink but it has sustained energy which doesn't give you these jitters, anxious feelings or crashes.Perfect Ted not only is a Matcha powder brand but they have also channelled the power of Matcha into an energy drink, so when you need that pick me up in the day you can go for something refreshing but also healthy and effective.Marisa and Co-Founder Teddy and Levi have been on the recent season of Dragon's Den where they received 5 offers from the Dragon's taking deals from both Steven Bartlett and Peter Jones, therefore this is just the start of a really exciting journey for them.I wanted to talk to Marisa about her struggles with ADHD and Anxiety and the role that coffee played in this. I also wanted to talk about Matcha and how they are going to tackle the challenge of introducing it to the UK and lastly I was super interested to hear in the behind the scenes of Dragon's Den.Marisa and I discuss the following topics:Anxiety and ADHDHer relationship with CoffeeThe power of Matcha and the health benefitsHow Matcha is better than CoffeeWhy a sparkling Energy drink rather than a Matcha Latte in a canThe journey to Dragon's DenWhat we don't see behind the scenesWhat's next for Perfect TedFor more information about becoming a Greedy Vegan please head to www.greedyvegan.uk or follow us at @greedyveganltd Hosted on Acast.
