Today's Barbershop Talk podcast reviews the hit sitcom "Kim's Convenience,'" starring Marvel's next superhero Simu Liu in "Shang-Chi: The Legend of The Ten Rings." “Kim’s Convenience,” a CBC Television sitcom based on a play of the same name about a Korean Canadian family who owns a convenience store in Toronto. We talk about the good, the bad, the ugly and give our rating out of 10. In this episode, we discuss:- How Paul Lee (Appa) denied his heritage growing up -Being able to see a multitude of Asian characters -Kim’s Convenience touching on many Asian experiences that we resonate with-Asian culture reinforces the idea that we shouldn’t talk about our feelings and keep them inside. -Leo talks about his favorite episode where they showed us the differences between Korean-born vs. an American-born person-Mike and Leo provides critical feedback on the show-The main characters didn’t develop as much besides Kimchee.
