Unfortunately, there is such a disconnect in this profession and it is disappointing as physical therapists that there can be so much hate and disrespect between providers.Get ready to listen as we debate over comments like:

Ep 6: Demystifying Your Diet

In this Episode Chad and Nick talk about nutrition!Nutrition…Now that’s pretty broad. As we could talk for days about nutrition, we are going to focus on demystifying your diet. In other words we want to set the record straight about some of the misconceptions in the nutrition world.
We are going to be discussing 3 main topics:
Increase your protein intake: aim for 1g/lb of ideal weight if looking to lose weight, otherwise try to keep at least .75 g/lb
Don’t fear saturated fats (like from animal sources). Embrace them! Same with cholesterol. Seed oils are the devil!
Add salt to everything! Avoid salt that is bright white in appearance. Look for unrefined salt that is usually pink, beige or gray in appearance

Ep 4: Natural Footwear Transition...Free Your Feet
In The RACK Podcast...Powered by ProForm Physical Therapy.
In this Episode Chad and Nick recap modern day footwear and its impact on our normal foot function as well as discuss the steps to transitioning their patients and clients to natural footwear.
Criteria For Natural Footwear:
Zero Drop - Flat
Wide Toe Box - Widest from tip of big toe to tip of little toe, not the bases of the toes like conventional shoes.
Flexible Sole - Can be contorted in a variety of ways, not only bending in one spot - i.e break point.
Thin Sole - 200,000 nerve endings in the foot, let them feel the ground and interact with the environment like they are supposed to!
Steps-By-Step Process To Transitioning To Natural Footwear:
Step #1: Figure out where you fall on the footwear spectrumStep #2: Determine your barefoot abilityStep #3: Make small changes to footwear - Address one component at a time - Heel-to-toe drop first!Step #4: Address other components of shoes if need be - some may stop at step #3 If appropriate.Step #5: Reap the benefits, and have a variety of footwear options
Remember...Regaining a positive relationship with your feet requires a lifelong journey, so we need to start small. And have patience!Let's Free Those Feet!
