Getting Comfortable in Your Own Skin with Matt Mullenax Ep 137

Today we are joined by the founder and CEO of Huron, former Brown football player, Matt Mullenax. Matt grew up a kid with bad skin, something I as a swimmer can relate to. As an athlete, his skin took a beating. Between football helmets and sweaty workout clothes, he wasn’t doing himself, or his skin, many favors. Finally, in his late 20s, he began to experiment with some more premium products and his skin started to respond positively. But he couldn’t justify spending $70 or more on personal care products. The spark was there – to create a brand that offered products that would work just as well as super-premium brands but offered at approachable price points. After spending time at Bonobos in his early days, he witnessed first-hand what it meant to build a brand around a customer. Huron was built with the same mentality. We talk:-How we feel figuratively and literally in our own skin-Increasing Confidence-How he's built Huron from the startGo check out Huron at www.usehuron.com and use code CCAMP20 at checkout for 20% off!--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cory-camp/message This is a public episode. The Burden of Being Yourself with Gavin McHale

We are joined by a fellow Forever Athlete, podcast host of the Coach’s Playground Podcast, soon to be author, founder of Maverick Coaching Academy and all around great human, Gavin McHale. Gavin, much like myself, followed the rules, growing up playing hockey and going on to get his degree in Kinesiology, but after some time of going that more traditional route, realized he kept trading his time for money. This sent him on a journey to find a better way and eventually founded Maverick Coaching Academy to help other personal trainers build their hybrid businesses.Today highlights a lot of that journey for Gavin:-How he went from playing pro hockey to where he is today-The ups and downs in between and how he’s been able to find himself beyond what he does for a livingGavin and I have a book coming out in the next month or so all around athlete identity and what that true self actually means and we get into that here today too.Check out and keep up with Gavin here: www.maverickcoachingacademy.ca --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cory-camp/message This is a public episode.
