Associate Professor Kristin Neff is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on self-compassion, being the first one to operationally define and measure the construct almost twenty years ago.  She received her doctorate from Berkeley, and is currently an Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Texas. She has two books; Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself (2011) and her new 2021 book Fierce Self-Compassion: How Women Can Harness Kindness to Speak Up, Claim Their Power and Thrive. She is also co-founder of the non-profit Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.
