In this episode, Travis discusses his strategy for managing a portfolio of investments: the 8% rule. This is similar to the 4% rule many people live by who invest in the stock market, which says that when you reach retirement or financial independence, you sell off 4% of your portfolio each year and live off of that income. The 8% rule is similar, except you are living off of the income your portfolio generates rather than having to sell off pieces of it.
