Episode 488: Deena Kastor Live at the 2022 Chicago Marathon
This episode is a recording my live interview at the Chicago Marathon expo! With Chicago coming up so soon, I thought that this would be a great time to share this episode!Deena has long list of incredible accomplishments, including previously being the American Record holder in the marathon with a time of 2:19:36. She is a 3-time Olympian and won a bronze medal in the 2004 Olympic in Athens and also has won both the London and the Chicago Marathon. She also holds a 5,000m PR of 14:51 and 10,000m of 30:50. Episode 487: Lindsay Flanagan – 9th at the World Championships Marathon
Lindsay Flanagan is on the show today fresh off of her 9th place finish at the World Championships marathon in Budapest! This was her fourth fastsest marathon of her career. She has run 17 marathons total!Lindsay has had an incredibly successful last few years of racing. She ran a PR at the Gold Coast Marathon in 2:24:23 which was also a course record there! Matt McDonald finished 10th at the Boston Marathon this past year in 2023. He was the 2nd American behind Scott Fauble. He lives in Boston and trains with the BAA. He placed 10th at the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials running 2:12:19. He has PR of 2:09:49 and a half marathon PR of 63:56. He has been coaching for over 25 years. He had a very successful running career himself. He ran at Adam’s State University where he was coached by the legendary Coach Joe Vigil. Robyn McGillis and Marie Markham are on the show today for another episode of the high school coaching series supported by V.O2.Robyn and Marie are the founders of Wildwood Running. Wildwood is committed to guide, empower, connect, and educate young female runners and coaches that impact young female runners. Robyn and Marie are both high school cross country and track coaches themselves and when they went to clinics about coaching they realized there was this missing piece and they have a lot of questions about coaching high school female runners.
