Ep 57 | How cancer changed my life + business, with Christie Miller

Ep 56 | How to connect with strangers on the internet

Today, we’re takin’ a trip through my DMs. I got a great question from “Jamie.” She understands the importance of speaking to strangers on the internet if you want to create collaborative relationships and grow in a nurtured way on Instagram. But… she’s the kinda gal who sits alone at a party counting down the hours until she can leave instead of trying to meet friends. So … *HOW* does this happen for someone who’s not a social butterfly?The truth is, this will be difficult for someone who doesn’t go out of their way to speak to people. But – it WILL get easier when you show up just to be human and stop over-thinking it. And just to prove my point, I took a gander through my DMs and read my last 5 DMs to strangers along with the context around why I was messaging them. I hope you see that – in this stage of messaging – the only objective is to create a genuine connection. I’m not approaching this with a step 1, step 2 or step 3 strategy. I’m not trying to trick people into talking to me so that I can sell them something. I’m doing what social media was designed for, being social. And when you see these DM examples, I hope you’ll see that this does not have to be complicated AT ALL.
