39: Moving On & Not Dwelling on Past Mistakes
Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, moments where everything seemed to go wrong? You may have made a little or big mistake, and can't get over it. We've all been there. It's so easy to feel frustrated with yourself or a situation, and feel the desperate urge to want to turn back time. In this episode, I open up about a recent mistake I made and my process going through it. In the big scheme of things, this mistake was not a big deal - but in the moment, it was hard to deal with. At first, I let this mistake define my character and my worth. I had to remind myself that we're all human and make mistakes. Dwelling on what could have been done differently does not change the situation itself. Therefore, I chose to discuss the importance of letting yourself feel consciously upset and frustrated for a certain period of time - and then moving on and taking charge. Instead of dwelling for too long, we must take action and find a solution. I also talk about accepting one's mistakes and learning from them. At the end of the day, successful leaders look for solutions, instead of simply dwelling. If you can relate, I'd love to know! My contact links are below. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the show overall or specifically this episode. Thank you so much for listening and for being a part of the TRUST & THRIVE journey. I truly appreciate you. 30: Embracing Change & Stepping into the Unknown
This past year has been full of so many changes in my life - more than any other year. I thought I'd record a solo episode on what I've learned about embracing change and being okay with stepping into the unknown. In this episode, I also share some research I found on the different fears that keep us from embracing change. These range from the fear of failure to the fear of not being in control, and much more.I've found that embracing change and what we CAN control (our own reactions) is the only way to really thrive. The more we resist what IS, the harder it becomes to grow and learn from our experiences. In addition, the more you know yourself, the more likely you'll be willing to step out of your comfort zone. As always, trust yourself and trust the process.STAY CONNECTED:INSTA: @trustandthriveTIKOK:@trustandthriveTWITTER: @trustandthriveFACEBOOK: bit.ly/FBtaramontWEBSITE: www.tara-mont.comEMAIL: trustandthrive@gmail.com
