Joe Martin is a musician and a pioneer in the emerging use of the so-called 'value 4 value' model for digital product publishing (and likely more in the future). This is another instalment in the 'Bitcoiner Book Club' series. When either myself, or others read a book that they thought was interesting, relevant to bitcoin, and worthy of further discussion, we put together one of these chats. The guests reviewing the books are always different, and are usually included because they asked to be involved (I've found that 4 is a good number). The crew today is Daniel Prince (Host of the OnceBitten Podcast), Jace Hartzler (Bitcoiner), and Ray Youssef (Founder and CEO of Paxful). Unsurprisingly, this discussion became more about the implications of the scenario which the book describes, and related subjects, more that a methodical review of the contents of the book itself. Of course, with a subject this large and influential, there are a million rabbit holes we could have gone down, which means we were inevitably unable to explore many of them. Guy Swann is a friend, bitcoiner, and creator and host of 'Bitcoin Audible', a podcast where he reads the top articles in the bitcoin space, and provides extensive and valuable commentary on them.   Last week Guy and I recorded a podcast in which we discussed the recent 'banking crisis', and the individual psychological dynamics that are involved (both cause and effect) in a financial system like the one we currently have. We ran out of time to cover the other topic which I was hoping to discuss with Guy, which was the upgrade process to bitcoin. In my opinion, there is insufficient discussion of the logic or rationale of potential upgrades to bitcoin, no clear framework on how one might balance known and unknown risks and rewards, in the process of forming their opinion on, ultimately, how they 'define' bitcoin for themselves - what they believe it should and could 'be'. So, we spent the bulk of this episode covering that topic. Jacob Wolki is an Australian entrepreneur and regenerative farmer. He started out in his family's record store, then moved to selling bicycles, and in 2019, went down the regenerative farming rabbit-hole, which he's now built into a rapidly growing full-time business. I first came across his work when he released a video which went viral, in which he showed how his un-staffed retail location worked.
