This new year and special 50th episode of 21CV launches with a bang as we sit down in person with the owners of From the Heart Yoga, Rick Powell and Behjne Mason. Practitioners and teachers for well over 25 years, they join us on the show to talk about what exactly yoga is, how we can find a discipline with it, and how it has transformed over the past thirty years. Behnje is an E-RYT 500 Certified Hatha Yoga teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. She began her study of Yoga in 1989 and dedicated many years. She received her certification in Anusara Yoga from John Friend in 2004 and served on the National Certification Board for Anusara Yoga for 8+ years. In 2013, Behnje completed Desiree Rumbaugh's Wisdom Warriors training. Behnje continues her studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks, Jamie Allison, Sianna Sherman, Sonam Targee, Sally Kempton, and Manoj Chalam. Behnje is inspired by Yoga’s ability to connect people to the wisdom of the heart. It is from this enthusiasm that she is honored to be representing such a rich and elegant method of Hatha Yoga. Rick has studied Tai-Chi Jeung and Tai Chi Praying Mantis Kung Fu with Sifu Lee, Hoa Yen since 1984. In 1987 Rick was accepted as an "In door" Disciple of Sifu Lee Hoa Yen. In 1990 Sifu Lee granted him 1 of the 5 teaching certifications he has given out since moving to America. In 1990 Rick began practicing yoga and in 2008 received his certification in Anusara Yoga. He is currently an E-RYT 500 Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher who has studied with John Friend, Behnje Masson and many other great Teachers. Rick is dedicated to preserving these beautiful health&martial art forms and passing them on with patience, integrity, and accuracy. Psilocybin and the Healing of the Human Spirit with Jahan Khamsehzadeh Ph.D

This weeks guest is Jahan Khamsehzadeh Ph.D, author of the new book, 'The Psilocybin Connection: Psychedelics, the Transformation of Consciousness, and Evolution of the Planet - An Integral Approach' releasing Spring of 2022. Jahan completed his dissertation on psychedelics in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. He's earned his masters in Consciousness and Transformative Studies from John F. Kennedy University and has gone on to train within the Mazatec mushroom tradition. He is currently working as a facilitator for legal psilocybin mushroom ceremonies in Jamaica with Atman Retreats.
