Episode 6: Bust Through Your Comfort Zone
John started researching real estate in 2002 and found there were many avenues to success in real estate. He kept stumbling upon lease options and at the time there wasn’t much information out there about them, but he had been an active day trader for a few years so he understood options and decided to pursue lease options because they didn’t require any money or risk. John built his company Leasing To Buy having zero clues what he was doing and with nobody who had a business model like he was trying to build, he just had to wing it. Since 2003, his company has done over 600 lease options, most of them in the Ft. Worth area and John now trains people from all over how to duplicate his business model. John came to be known as the “Texas Lease Option Guy,” because TX has specific laws about lease options and he is one of very few teachers in the lease options business in TX. Chris has been in real estate for over 25 years. In the early 1990’s Chris built over 100 single family homes, in the mid-1990’s to 2000’s he owned a Realty Executives Franchise, and eventually sold his brokerage business as a realtor to Coldwell Banker in 2000. In the 2000’s he transitioned to coaching people throughout US and Canada while doing converting multi-family homes to condos and “raise the roof” projects where he converted single family ranches to colonials in growth neighborhoods. Chris is an advocate of constant education and participates annually in a high-end mastermind group personally with Ron LeGrand, with whom he does JV deals for properties valued over $1 million. Chris’ company Pre Property Solutions buys between 4-10 properties monthly and a large percentage of those are done via lease options as well as selling via special terms lease.
