383. How to Handle Mood Swings

I am dedicating today's episode to discussing mood swings. So many women struggle with feeling out of control of their emotions and mental health, and it isn't a matter of just "being more positive." The truth is, your mood swings are often a hormonal issue and there are physiological imbalances at play.  The good news: you can improve your hormone balance and mood swings! Emotional highs and lows are not your fault, just a matter of having the right information and tools to resolve them. The goal of this episode is to open the conversation around these issues and share ways you can improve your health.  DUTCH Test: https://drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/

382. What to Know About Supplements!

I am dedicating today's episode to discussing supplements. It can be tempting to throw supplements at a health issue because we heard that it worked for Aunt Pam, or to take anything that Dr. Google tells us. Supplements are much more individual, and although many won't hurt you, it's so important to understand what your specific body needs, how the supplements interact with each other and how to maximize the benefits.  I am a huge fan of supplementation in general, because our nutrition as a nation is severely lacking. As long as we are taking into consideration the right factors and individuality of health, supplements can go a long way! The goal of this episode is to open the conversation around these issues and share ways you can improve your health.  DUTCH hormone testing: https://drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/

381. Losing Weight with PCOS with Tallene & Sirak Kalaygian

Tallene is a PCOS Weight Loss registered dietitian and a strong believer that you don’t just have to live with PCOS, you can thrive with PCOS. She was diagnosed at age 18, and left scared and confused without much information or guidance from her practitioner. Unsatisfied with the generally accepted belief that birth control is the only way to manage a PCOS diagnosis (and disheartened after failed attempts at weight loss through excessive exercise and dieting), Tallene decided to look for alternative options. She studied nutritional science and became a dietitian, gathering information from her studies, speaking extensively with various health experts who are now guests on her and her husband’s podcast, and working with clients one-on-one. She discovered that eliminating gluten and dairy as a huge key to living healthier with PCOS, and together with her husband Sirak (a PCOS-focused personal trainer), developed a program meant to make living with the diagnosis easier to both understand and embrace. Tallene has helped thousands of women manage their PCOS symptoms and is living proof that anyone can overcome PCOS and lose weight naturally by going gluten and dairy free! Sirak is a PCOS Personal Trainer and a strong supporter of women struggling with PCOS. He has taken his skills as an engineer and applied his creative genius to editing and producing the content within our membership and social media channels. He co-hosts our podcast and brings a light hearted and understanding approach to PCOS management. When Tallene and Sirak met, he swept her off her feet with the slow, weighted workout approach that has now become part of the PCOS Weight Loss Method. 379. Do I Have to Go Gluten Free with PCOS?

I am dedicating today's episode to sharing more gluten and PCOS. There is so much information about what to cut out and what to add in when you have PCOS and gluten is one of the big ones.  Most people say point blank that you MUST cut out gluten with PCOS. This generalization is not necessarily the best course of action for every body, but it is important to look at why gluten can create issues for PCOS and who should cut it out and when. The goal of this episode is to open the conversation around these issues and share ways you can improve your health.  DUTCH hormone testing: https://drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/

378. Holidays, Health & Stress

Happy Thanksgiving! I am dedicating today's episode to sharing more about holiday traditions and how they impact your stress levels and health. Sometimes we forget what we truly value around the holidays in an attempt to keep up with traditions!  Thanksgiving and the holidays should be a time where you can relax and enjoy yourself, but this isn't always the case for many women. Stress and to-do's get in the way, so it may be time to re-evaluate what's on your holiday agenda. The goal of this episode is to open the conversation around these issues and share ways you can improve your health.  DUTCH hormone testing: https://drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/
