608: How do you strengthen yourself?
We look at the concept of how we stay up and positive instead of low and negative. Zig Ziglar gives us a short message, telling us of how often people told him, “Zig, I was feeling so down, I was so low, then I read your books or listened to your messages again and got back up!” While that is great, Zig asks, “Wouldn't it be better to be continually working to stay up and not get so low to begin with? He states, “It’s easier to stay up, than to get up!” Before you question whether this is realistic, have you heard this quote from Zig? “People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.”Truly, think about it. Do you take a shower and then wait multiple days until your hair is greasy and you have really rank b.o. Before you shower again? Or do you kind of...keep on top of it? If you go to a place of employment everyday, or...if you’re married, I’ll bet you tend to personal hygiene daily. Well, Zig is calling us to tend to our motivational hygiene, daily. Before our attitude gets greasy and rank.
So...from his message I asked this question, “What do you do, consistently, to strengthen and prepare yourself 1) Physically, 2) Mentally and 3) Emotionally to be well and better withstand life’s challenges? Then, if you’d also state 4) Which area you struggle with most.” We got loads of responses and Tom Ziglar and i talked through them. You’ll be very interested to hear what all was shared...got us both inspired.

607: Lisa Grimes, remember who you are
In this show we are talking about you. And charging you with remembering, who...you...are. And if you don’t know, figuring it out. My guest is Lisa Grimes and the title of the book she coauthored with Paula Brown Stafford is...Remember Who You Are: Achieve Success. Create Balance. Experience Fulfillment.
Lisa and Paula co-authored the book and jointy run a consulting firm called Habergeon which you can find at habergeon.com/
Lisa’s focus is living life meaningfully and on purpose, and being connected to other people. She’s spent 33 years in corporate America with roles in management, sales and business development and multiple stints as CEO of large companies. She’s also been an entrepreneur, spent a decade as a decorator, and…adopted a child who is deaf and mute after being told she couldn’t have children. We cover a lot of ground, and give direct and candid focus to some of the challenges women in the workplace face. We dig into some of the big and volatile issues between men and women in the workplace.
Tons of value for all, but you ladies especially will want to hear this...and guys, share with your wives or women you care about! I think many women will get significant comfort and freedom from what Lisa shares. And...I make some callouts to us Dads to...step up our game.

606: Writing the ultimate goal for your life
We look at a dramatic exercise...writing your eulogy. Which in essence is...not merely writing out a goal or goals, but the goal you have for your life! That...is daunting, as you’ll hear. So I got the idea from Jesse Cole, who was my guest in show 603. Jesse is the author of “Find Your Yellow Tux” and the guy who is reinventing baseball. But most importantly, he is giving joy to so, so many people. But as you’ll hear, or you already heard, in show 603, I started off citing what Jesse starts his book off with, his eulogy. And it just impacted me. So...I wrote my own. It wasn’t easy. Then I asked our Facebook group to write their and post it. And I asked Jesse to come back and join me to talk through them. We got a lot of responses, but they weren’t all eulogies. Many just commented on the concept, positively and negatively. What I came to from it all, was I believe...profound. You can listen and decide for yourself. I want to give a premise though...Check this out: in business, we give great focus to our brand, as we should. It’s the image people have of our companies. We go to great lengths to say what our brand is, but ultimately we can’t claim what our brand truly is, the marketplace will say what our brand is, in truth. We work to influence them, but they have the final say. Same with our eulogy. One day one will be given for us, at our funeral. What will people say? The deal is…we have between now and then to influence…what will be said. And just like a goal, the best way to hit our target is to decide what we want it to be...then to write it down and keep it before us. As of this recording, US Senator John McCain died just days ago, and before his death he requested that former presidents Barack Obama and George W Bush deliver eulogies at his funeral. They will testify to who they viewed him to be. It’s a big deal folks.

605: What can you be the best at - Habits with Jesse Cole
We are back with the yellow tux man himself, Jesse Cole, who keeps his baseball team and stadium sold out over a year out and is out to change the face of baseball. How? By not making it about baseball, but about entertainment, experience, relationships and memories. Our main interview with him was in show #603 on how to stand out and be different...and how placing your relationships first...are such massive opportunities for success. In this show we follow the seven spokes in the Ziglar Wheel of Life and find out Jesse’s habits for success. He runs everyday but struggles with his nutrition, which I would too if my life was in a baseball stadium surrounded by hotdogs and nachos! He writes 10 ideas per day to further grow that muscle in his brain, and if you listen to show 603 you will realize the guy is an idea factory! You’ll also hear he and his wife weathered going from zero debt and living in their dream house to $1.8 million in debt. But have now come out on top. It’s a great conversation folks. Get Jesse’s book, “Find Your Yellow Tux” at http://findyouryellowtux.com/.

604: Do you need more info or more faith and motivation?
We have an important question for you to consider in regards to...what do you most need now to help your personal progress? we listen to a clip from Zig Ziglar on having a positive mental attitude. And he brings up the issue of increasing performance...regardless of increasing knowledge. Which begged a great question that I posted on Facebook, "For your current, personal progress, do you feel you need to 1) Learn new information to increase your skills and abilities, or need to 2) Improve your confidence/attitude/faith/motivation in order to increase your skills and abilities?" We had a tremendous response and Tom Ziglar and I talked through the comments. Really intriguing, you’ll want to join us for sure. If you haven’t yet done so, find me on Facebook and friend me...at agentkmiller so you can give your great feedback for these weekly questions.

603: Jesse Cole - you can’t be the best but you must be different
You are about to get convicted on the need to...stand out from the crowd. There are very few things where you can honestly say you are the best. But you can always find a way to be different. You must. So I have a treat for you. A guy who did it in an amazing way...with a low level baseball team. It’s a movie worthy story. I attended Social Media Marketing World in San Diego in early 2018 and saw this guy walking by in...a bright yellow tux. I think you could have seen him from outer space. And my mom says, “Oh, I’ve got to introduce you to Jesse! We walk over and get an introduction to...Jesse Cole. Later I get the story from my Dad. Jesse took a college league baseball team in Savannah Georgia that was having maybe a couple hundred people attend a given game, and...he went nuts. He decided to make the event about family and entertainment, with a little baseball thrown in. A couple short years later, they pack out EVERY game with over 4,000 people and are sold out a year ahead! He has two teams now and much more coming in the future. It’s just an amazing, and true story. Kind of where the truth is stranger and more glorious than fiction. Going from a nice living to going a million in debt and living on ramen noodles, literally, to now being poised to change baseball as we know it. Really, you’ve got to hear what is happening. But what’s best is, you’ll smile and be massively inspired. Jesse has inspired me...to do some things differently. Better. Invest in relationships more. You’ll want to hear this. I’d encourage you to get his book, “Find Your Yellow Tux” How To Be Successful by Standing Out” - get it at findyouryellowtux.com or wherever you buy books.

602: Where did you learn character, morality and ethics?
Zig Ziglar asks a question that is gigantic, “What makes a person successful?” His message is from on stage and he actually asks a live audience and lists down their responses. And from it of course, makes a dramatic point. You’ll have to listen to the show to find out what it is! But from the message I posted on Facebook, this question., “Where did you learn about…character? Morality? Ethics? The greatest values in life that school doesn’t teach?” And if you have a story about a time when you were not well schooled in these areas and incurred challenges as a result, please share.” The amount of responses put it in the top five, so we obviously hit a nerve. Tom Ziglar and I talked through a lot of them!

601: Less stress and more restoration - Habits with Chalene Johnson
Back with Chalene Johnson, our guest from show 599. This time we walk through her healthy habits in the 7 spokes of The Ziglar Wheel of Life. Chalene is one of the top influencers in the health and wellness arena and holds the Guiness Book of World Records...record, for starring in the most fitness videos of anyone on planet earth. That’s a lot of exercise and sweat in front of a camera...while smiling. But in this show, What you’ll find of interest is that she, the queen of fitness, had to deal with a major decline in her health. You’ll hear why, and how she changed to deal with it. It’s what led her to develop her 131method.com approach to individualized diets. Not a temporary diet though, a diet for life, specifically engineered for you. But it’s about much more than nutrition and physical wellness, Chalene is out to inspire people’s true performance, just like Zig Ziglar. In this show I appreciated Chalene divulging she’s an “outgoing introvert”, and her statement that in our pursuits and endeavors, we seldom stop to ask ourselves how we want the initiative to make us feel? How do we want to feel as a result? That perspective really wowed me, as you’ll hear in our talk. It was a fun and significant conversation you’ll want to hear. Again, I really encourage you to check out 131method.com for Chalene’s new offering. Of course you can connect with her and all she’s doing at chalenejohnson.com.

600: Getting ourselves to change
Change. That’s our topic in this show. We hear a message from...Zig Ziglar. He’s talking about making personal change, and the great challenge it is. And that it requires us to do things differently, or do different things, if we ever want to get different results. From his message I posted this question on Facebook, “Change is hard and procrastination is powerful. Please tell us about something that happened in your life that caused you to change or increase your performance.” There were many comments specifically on dealing with procrastination. Tom Ziglar and I shared some of our own experiences, and read through and discussed many comments.

599: Chalene Johnson - mastering how you do it
Here is a lady who has two top podcasts in two different categories, health and business. And let me make an admission up front, I was expecting a hard charging, authoritative personality. I personally vet the guests we have on the Ziglar show, but occasionally I’ll get a strong recommendation from someone for a guest and end up talking with them when I don’t have a lot of personal exposure with them. Well, Chalene Johnson exceeded my expectations. Truly. She’s incredibly down to earth and authentic and what I found was it’s the reason she has such massive influence. We recorded the main interview in about an hour and our Habits interview in about 30 minutes. Then...we continued talking about mutual interests and experiences amidst health and wellness and personal development for another hour and half. Chalene is a giant in the health and wellness industry. She’s had over 20 million downloads of her podcasts, is the NY Times bestselling author of the book PUSH. Tens of millions of people around the globe have transformed their bodies and their lives with her help, and her fitness programs have been featured in gyms and on TV for more than 12 years. Check this out, she holds he Guiness Book World Record for having starred in the most...fitness videos. Chalene has designed several number-one ranked fitness and diet programs for industry giants, including Beachbody, the creators of p90x, Insanity, Turbo Jam and more. But this is really interesting. Several years ago, Chalene began to suffer a steady decline in her health that included debilitating brain fog, mood swings, and chronic pain and injuries. This led her to question the diet and fitness industries’ definition of health. She taught herself to read scientific studies, as well as how to search for, find, question, and evaluate research. The story just begins there...it’s a massively intriguing show. Towards the end of the show you’ll hear us talk about a brand new program she’s launched that I am a fan of. It’s at 131method.com and she’s out to debunk dieting and the idea there is any one program that fits everyone. I’m in 100% agreement. It’s a very personal strategy and she helps with this at 131 method. Join chalene at 131method.com for your own health progress journey. And of course you can connect with all Chalene is offering at chalenejohnson.com
