9| Dr. Nick Perugini: What You Gain When You Intentionally Incorporate Stress in Your Life
"What we do inside the walls of our gym must transfer to outside the walls of the gym and if they do not- it is a massive missed opportunity." - Dr. Nick Perugini, PT, DPTWe know that stress and chaos are coming into our lives no matter what. Our problem is not the stress, but our binary perspective of the stressors we experience. So what can we do about it? If you ask Nick- we want to intentionally put our bodies & minds into stressful situations and choose our hard.In this episode learn from Nick how stress can be medicine when we learn to leverage it because it is the mental and physical states we experience in that determines the outcome. If we build the capability to manage stress, it can be a SUPERPOWER. How do we learn to leverage stress? By preparation through the proper doing, feeling and application of purposeful movement. "There is a way to be in pain, to make sense of it and to transform it to create something really special...if we can do that- not just in a rehab or physical standpoint but move that concept into our life- that is going to be a really powerful experience that transcends the gym, transcends training, transcends rehab." - Dr. Nick PeruginiA message love Nick:"I'm a physical therapist and strength coach operating out of Philadelphia, PA. I'm the Founder of More Than Movement, a physical therapy and training company that specializes in working with people where stopping an activity is not an option. Over the past four years as a Physical Therapist, I've worked with hundreds of athletes at the highest level of sport: baseball, lacrosse, rowing, ultimate frisbee, CrossFit, powerlifting, Olympic lifting. The common denominator in the people I work with is their mindset. This is not just their sport, and they are not coming to me because they are JUST having an issue with movement. It's More Than Movement for them. So, how I approach being their coach or physical therapist, must also be in a way that is More Than Movement." -Dr. Nick PeruginiFind Nick on Instagram @nickperugini.dptSchedule a discovery call Learn about physical therapy services at Reload hereLearn about fitness services at Reload hereIG: @reload.ptLearn more about Reload's Group ClassesPull Up ClubBarbell ClubKettlebell ClubConditioning ClubDiggin' the intro/outro jam?
