This is Doone for Female Startup ClubHey! Welcome back to the Female Startup Club podcast.I just wanted to drop in here and give you a heads up that today’s episode is a little different, and for the first time ever, you’ll be hearing a guy on the show. This is actually an episode I did a couple of weeks back on the My Millenial Podcast with Glen James and I had SO much fun in this episode that I really wanted to share it with you. We go into detail about my story and a bit about my background, what I’m really excited about at the moment, and talking about startups and investment in general. If you love this episode, please let me know! I’m thinking that maybe I might do more of these. So let me know, and slide into my DM’s. I hop you enjoy it. Before we jump into this - I’d love for you to be involved in my new solo episodes. All you need to do is send through a voicenote in the DMS either to female startup club on IG (or my personal account). It can be a specific question you have about business or life or a personal question, something you want to know or learn more about. We’re keeping it broad so we can mix it up! It’s part of a new content series where we will play your recording (so whatever you send in the recording will play on the show) and chat through that topic or question. And I’m so excited for this! See you in the DMs.Ok, now let’s jump into today’s episode! LINKS WE MENTION:Doone's InstagramMy Millenial Money PodcastGlen James LinkedIn Join thousands of small business owners who are reading our newsletter every Monday at: www.femalestartupclub.comJoin our tool and private community for small business owners, Majic [formerly known as Hype Club]Female Startup Club's InstagramDoone's TikTokSay hello to Doone: hello@femalestartupclub.com Hosted on Acast. Every week we’re learning from some of the world’s most brilliant minds in business. Like the co-founder of Form Nutrition, a B Corp-certified plant-based nutrition company, created from the simple belief that we become the greatest version of ourselves while making a positive impact in the lives of others. Launched in 2017 in the United Kingdom, Form Nutrition was born when Co-Founders Natalia Bojanic and Damian Soong started rethinking their habits and the effects diet has on health and the climate. Form’s 100% plant-based protein powders and responsibly-sourced nootropics are backed by science and were designed with optimal performance in mind. From performance and muscle growth to improving sleep and cognitive support, Form’s unique suite of plant-based products are impact-driven to support overall health and wellness and empower individuals to meet their unique goals. We’re talking through so many different things today like the practice of building a meditation habit with a very practical tip to getting started if you’re someone like me who is so on again and off again with meditation. Something else I reallyy love about this episode is when we touch on when to quit and why that shouldn’t be seen as a failure. I do this constantly in my life and it’s such a powerful way to move towards your strengths and superpowers, and away from the things that drain you. And finally, we talk through some simple marketing strategies and mindsets that everyone could implement into their business tomorrow. Before we jump in a quick reminder on the girl code - you know we love it! This is Laura Henshaw for Female Startup ClubHello and welcome back to the show! It’s Doone here, your host and hype girl! If you’ve just found us - hi! I’m so happy you found us. Every week we’re learning from some of the world’s most brilliant minds in business. Like the co-founder of Kic - which you might have previously known as Keep It Cleaner, which was founded by Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith (now Miller).Today we’re chatting with Laura who is the CEO of the Kic App and we’re really diving into her mission to help others embrace self-acceptance and make sustainable changes towards a healthier, happier lifestyle. The KIC app is like your best friend in health and wellness, literally in your pocket. It helps you with easy yummy soul-nourishing food recipes and workout programs you can literally do from home.I really loved this episode because Laura talks us through her journey from turning her experience in a toxic industry into a life-changing, high-impact company that helps women positively every single day. We talk through how she manages running a business as the CEO with her life outside of work - a battle we all seem to face, the real costs of developing an app, and her tips for getting started if you have an idea. Before we jump in a quick reminder on the girl code - if you get something out of this episode please share it, review us, or send us to a friend - it all seriously helps and the compound effect is huge. You know I love the compound effect. And I have been feeling so loved after reading all the beautiful reviews you’ve been leaving on the show. Oh! 5 things I’m doing right now for my mental health ✨

This is Doone for Female Startup ClubHi everyone and welcome back to the show! It’s Doone here, your host and hype girl! If you’ve just found us - welcome welcome welcome. Thank you for tuning into my mini solo episode this week, where we chat all about the things I’m doing right now for my mental health. See you in the DMs.Let’s get into the episode. Chatting to Wonderwind co-founder Daniella Pierson on the show at the end of last year reminded me just how much of a shared experience this all really is. And why it’s important to talk about it so we feel less alone. If you didn’t hear her episode, def go back and listen to it - Wondermind is a mental fitness startup that Daniella launched with her co-founders Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey after a powerful conversation around their mental health struggles. And my conversation with her was really powerful. Daniella shared deeply about having ADHD, OCD, and Depression, and her vulnerability really lit a spark in me.When you read through Wondermind content, it points out that self-care refers to the things we turn to when we’re in desperate need of a mental health pick-me-up. The thing is, relying on it to put out fires after they’ve already started is not the best way to stay on top of life’s stresses. Self-care can and should be a tool you use to set yourself up for success every single day, not just an emergency switch you pull during crisis mode. And because I’ve been going through the motions of getting my mental health in a place of priority, this might be just the right time to talk about the things that I’m doing for my mental health in the hopes that if you’re experiencing any of these feelings, it helps you too. Today I’m sharing 5 of the things that I’m doing right now to give my mind that little pick-me-up. And remember, maybe you’re in a really great place right now - and that’s a great place to be making sure you’re building habits that support your mental health ongoing. There’s no time like the present when it comes to getting up close and personal with mental health tools. You’ll thank yourself later.Ok, now let’s jump into today’s episode! LINKS WE MENTION:Doone's InstagramJoin thousands of small business owners who are reading our newsletter every Monday at: www.femalestartupclub.comJoin our tool and private community for small business owners, Majic [formerly known as Hype Club]Female Startup Club's InstagramDoone's TikTokSay hello to Doone: hello@femalestartupclub.com Hosted on Acast. 6 quick questions with Jane Lu, Founder of Showpo (Part 2)

This is Jane Lu for Female Startup ClubHi everyone and welcome back to the show! It’s Doone here, your host and hype girl! If you’ve just found us - welcome welcome welcome. Every week we’re learning from some of the world’s most brilliant minds in business. Like Jane Lu, the founder of Showpo. Jane’s story is so inspiring and full of ups and downs and what really stood out to me was her sheer determination to succeed and the absolute resilience to keep going no matter what because failure just wasn’t an option. I came off this episode feeling so inspired and I know you will too. Jane is the queen of building a business while having some serious fun along the way and she shares so many gems to building her biz to $100m in revenue in this episode! Stick around to the end where she shares some of her crazy stories!A great piece of advice in this episode came down to putting in place systems and processes that will mean that you can then start hiring people to work in the business, so you can start working on the business; it’s the first step. It’s so hard for an entrepreneur because you’re so busy doing it that you don’t want to slow down and think about systems, but you’ve got to think about the bigger picture. Build that foundation. From there on, you can start hiring for your weaknesses. Hiring people to work on the business, people to bounce ideas off. Understanding what you don’t like and what your blind spots are. A bit of outsourcing but also in-housing.Before we jump in a quick reminder on the girl codeeee - you know we love it! 6 quick questions with Kat Schneider, founder of Ritual (Part 2)

Hi everyone and welcome back to the show! It’s Doone here, your host and hype girl! If you’ve just found us - welcome welcome welcome. Every week we’re learning from some of the world’s most brilliant minds in business. Like the founder of Ritual, a leading personal health company in the US founded by Kat Schneider. Since launching her supplements biz Kat has gone from working in the VC world to building a business that brings a new level of transparency to the health and wellness industry. While pregnant and in search of a prenatal she could trust, Kat took matters into her own hands and pioneered a new standard of high-quality multivitamins and supplements that are backed by science and Made Traceably. Now it’s one of the most trusted brands in the category and has more than a million customers. LOVE this episode. So many insights.Lately, I’ve been talking a lot with other founders about the big difference between what VCs are actually investing in and what women are building. There’s a real disconnect there and a serious need to bridge that gap. And it can feel overwhelming when the stats aren’t changing. So it was refreshing to chat with someone who had a more positive outlook. A female founder who has gone from the behind-the-scenes of the VC world to building her own brand - Ritual - and going on to raise $60M+ in funding. Kat has seen the problem first-hand. She sees women having great ideas, but the funding just not being there. She sees the funding opportunities to change lives go to waste. But she also sees change. She sees many more women investing in women. She sees the unlock of a female-focused economy. And she sees three-quarters of her board consisting of strong, powerful women. We’re on the right track. If you decide to embark on the exciting adventure of raising VC capital, this episode is for you. Embrace the commitment, and nurture those relationships and trust. Those are the two things that are always going to get people over the line. Before we jump in a quick reminder on the girl code - you know we love it! And I’m doing a call out for our loyal listeners to be involved in our new content series where you DM me a voice note or a question about anything across business, life, or relationships to feature on the show!
