SUMMER ‘23 - 6 quick questions with Ellen Yin, Founder of Cubicle to CEO (Part 2)
Today’s episode is brought to you by our pals at Norby - who we just love so much - we’re talking to Ellen Yin, the founder of Cubicle to CEO on all things being a content creator and working in the digital space. What I love about this episode is Ellen’s ability to see when things aren’t serving her and take big leaps to move in new directions. As entrepreneurs we’re always evolving and it really is a process of iteration so I really resonated with this episode and I think you’ll get a lot out of it. You’re going to hear her transition from the corporate grind to agency to course creator to media company! Packed with tips and insights that will give you inspiration wherever you are in the journey.I love the part of this episode where we dive into the future of media. All these traditional media companies are not necessarily going to disappear ofcourse, but the way consumers engage with the media will change. People these days would rather receive news and updates from a trusted voice and personality than they would tuning into their nightly news. Understand how are creators influence the media space and how are creators the future of the media space. 6 quick questions with Geo Moriarty, Co Founder of CinCin (Part 2)
This is Geo Moriarty for Female Startup ClubToday we’re learning from Geo Moriarty who is one of the co-founders behind my absolute GO-TO favourite fashion label CinCin. If you can imagine the vibe of FSC but in fashion label form, I mean this is it. It’s bold. It’s bright. It’s super cool. It’s giving maximalist OTT everything - and all the things I love. Right down to their hot pink couch in their retail store.Geo and I go back circa 15 years and watching her build this business from the ground up into a multi 7 figure empire has been nothing short of bloody amazing to say the least. And if you’re in fashion I think you’re gonna love this episode. Seriously. We’re talking through the manufacturing and printing piece, even down to the nitty gritty of why you should or should not use silk. Lol. We talk about how to fund a fashion business and why it’s so tricky. We talk about retail, we talk about wholesale, the marketing piece. There’s literally so much gold packed into this episode. You are gonna love it!Let’s get into it, this is Geo for Female Startup ClubLINKS WE MENTION:CinCin's InstagramCinCin's WebsiteJoin thousands of small business owners who are reading our newsletter every Monday at: www.femalestartupclub.comJoin our tool and private community for small business owners, Majic [formerly known as Hype Club]Female Startup Club's InstagramDoone's InstagramDoone's TikTokSay hello to Doone: hello@femalestartupclub.com Hosted on Acast. Part 3: Ami Bateman Breaks Down Her Exact Marketing Spend $$$ on the Pleasant State Equity Crowdfund (and her thoughts in hindsight!)
Hey guys, it’s Doone here - your host and hype girl! By the time you hear this episode, I’ll be somewhere back in Europe and the UK spending time with friends and family and doing all our favorite things on this side of the world. But today, you’re going to be hearing from Ami Bateman again. You might remember that we’ve had her on the show twice recently to talk and do a deep dive into her Equity crowdfunding campaign - which I can proudly say I invested in. I’d highly recommend going back to part 1 and part 2 if you‘re not caught up on those episodes yet because they really do sit in chronological order. This episode is absolutely brilliant I just love Ami so much for her candid insights and really breaking down everything from the line item marketing spend to make a campaign like this successful. And if you love this series, let me know! I’m curious if I should do more of these multi-part series to get into the nitty-gritty of how something works.Something we’ve demonstrated through these three sessions is that this is a very big undertaking, but it’s a super rewarding one. This ability to allow your community and customers to own part of your company has got to be a really big part of your philosophy. Start with why you're doing this: your purpose and intent that’s really ethical. For Ami, this crowdfunding has led to the opportunity to help women build wealth, rather than just lining the pockets of a very few whose values aren’t aligned. Obviously, I love that. Remember the girl code! Share the love. This is Ami for Female Startup Club.Pleasant State's InstagramAmi's LinkedInBirchal Website Join thousands of small business owners who are reading our newsletter every Monday at: www.femalestartupclub.comJoin our tool and private community for small business owners, Majic [formerly known as Hype Club]Female Startup Club's InstagramDoone's InstagramDoone's TikTokSay hello to Doone: hello@femalestartupclub.com Hosted on Acast. This is Julie Stevanja for Female Startup ClubHello and welcome back to the show! It’s Doone here, your host and hype girl! If you’ve just found us - hi! Love this for you. And me. Every week we’re learning from some of the world’s most brilliant minds in business. Like the co-founder of Wrapd, Julie Stevanja (formerly known as Her Black Book). Julie and her twin sister Sali have been building businesses for women since 2012 back when they first launched Stylerunner and now they’re back at it again taking the lessons they learned with that business to build Wrapd.
