How to Make Your Success More Meaningful this Year with Lottie Moore - 152
Like many people, Lottie Moore hit a wall in the middle of her career, losing herself in the process of living the ‘expected life’. Unlike other people though, she made the decision to pack one suitcase and escape with her 10 year old daughter to deepest, darkest Africa...well Burkina Faso to be exact. There she learnt a lot about what made her happy, but she didn’t finish the journey of self-discovery, and after a few years back in the UK with a new business things snapped again...literally. She was forced to confront what she calls her ‘shadow side’ and do the work to deal with the issues that surfaced. BUT...what she experienced on the other side of that made it all worth it. Her business took off to new and exciting levels, her personal happiness levels soared, and her self esteem flourished. Since then she hasn’t looked back and today helps ambitious business people recover their mental strength and take the big steps they may need to create greater overall success AND fulfilment. In this show Lottie will share how you can reconnect within the modern landscape to keep your head and body healthy, and to make success meaningful, satisfying, and fun. What you’ll discover: Why Lottie packed up everything, (including her daughter) and escaped to Africa just before she turned 40. How breaking a bone up a mountain in Russia led Lottie to an epiphany about her life. The good that can come from exploring rather than burying the negative emotions we experience in life. Why 2020 has been the catalyst for many people to look deeper into themselves. Why coaches often need their own medicine! How being ambitious and spiritually enlightened can work together. How the ‘reconnection’ process works to create meaningful change in people’s lives. The three areas of connection we need to seek in our lives. How to make your success meaningful. How Lottie uses speaking to generate leads. Why your own stories are the most powerful ones. Your Internal GPS to Success - 148
Even though I coach people on speaking and marketing, inevitably I always end up working as much on mindset as I do on developing skills and strategy. That’s because, in my experience as a coach, and from my own journey, the thing that trips us up most as an entrepreneur are our thoughts and beliefs. It doesn’t matter how many skills you’ve got, your mindset can be your biggest saboteur - showing up as things like impostor syndrome, procrastination, comparisonitis, shiny penny syndrome or as in my own case..all of them! The trouble is that often we aren’t aware of why we’re stuck or struggling to do the things that we know will move us closer to realizing our potential and achieving our goals and dreams...and even if we are, sometimes we don’t register at a conscious level, that we’re thinking unhelpful thoughts. That is why we need to use another compass to guide us, and what this episode is all about. What you’ll discover: The internal GPS that we need to pay attention to. What we should do when we’re off track. Three powerful processes to get you back on the path to happiness and success. Enjoy! Do You Need to KonMari Your Mind? - 146
I’ve been a big fan of Marie Kondo, a tidying expert, for a while, (even though when I first heard Tim Ferris interviewing her a few years before I was like what?! Really? People need help with folding!?) I started practicing her techniques about 18 months ago, and I love the space, calm and good habits that it has created for me and my home. BUT this episode isn’t a promo for Marie, folding your clothes or chucking out your books… it’s about something that came up for me as I was working on a new story idea. I had a bit of a lightbulb moment about some of the thoughts and beliefs that were holding me back, and so I thought I’d share with you in case it helps you too! What you’ll discover: The story prompt that started this all off. How we can be sentimental about things that don’t serve us. Why I think you should treat your beliefs like your clothes. The KonMari concepts we can apply to our mind. The default programs sitting in our blind spot and how to know if you’ve got them. Suggestions for action. Enjoy! How to Captivate the Room When You’re Networking on Zoom - 144
Networking meetings after Covid19 are definitely a different experience...and for some of us the convenience of not leaving the house and the thrill of knowing you’re talking business in your ‘jammie’ bottoms, has worn off. Zoom fatigue is definitely a thing… and it’s surprising given that most of us can manage to sit for hours watching a whole box set of our favourite show on Netflix. The trouble is that there’s a world of difference between passively enjoying well-written, engaging content versus trying to look interested in the 20th turgid, soulless pitch, which focuses on the ‘thing’, rather than why it should matter to you. However you feel about networking online, all the indications are that it’s going to continue beyond the demise of Corona. That means it’s time for you to stop seeing this as a stopgap and start embracing Zoom and some of the advantages it offers you to level up your pitch. In this show, I’m going to be covering off the basics you need to get right, before sharing some ideas and suggestions, to help your message and business stand out. What you’ll discover: The basics of good first online impressions Why you need to familiar with whatever platform you’re using and a couple of really useful zoom tips. How to make sure you stay connected when it’s important. The power of novelty The online opportunities you may be missing out on Ideas for making your pitch stand out Enjoy!
