Exodus 5&6:1-8 This is part 5 in our Exodus series. I respect each families ages/stages of life so I have adapted some of this. Please go back and read the scriptures to include anything else that is right for your family. Today, we hear Moses obey God's instructions to tell the king of Egypt to let His people go. The king of Egypt is upset with Moses' request and makes things even harder for the people. Even though this king seems all powerful, there is 1 who is much more powerful than him. We will learn how God is all powerful and He is in control even when things don't always make sense. God tells them that He will rescue His people.  Thank for tuning in. Exodus 4: 1-21 If you missed the last episodes, I would encourage you to go back starting at # 138 . The stories will build upon themselves and you’ll better understand how we got to where we are in our story. In today's story we hear Moses telling God he shouldn't be the 1 to help b/c he is not a good speaker.  God reminds Moses that He gave Moses his mouth and it is Him, God, who makes man able to speak. Again we hear that it’s not about us, what we can do, but it’s about God and what HE can do.  The children will hear how this applies to their very own lives.  Thanks for listening! Exodus 3 Today, we continue our series in Exodus. This is part 3. Today's story will cover Moses seeing the burning bush & God telling Moses he will be used to go back to Egypt and rescue the people.  Wait until you hear Moses' response! I love that the Bible reminds us that the people in the Bible are real people, just like us. We will also learn that it's not about who we are but who God is.  I encourage you to go back and listen to the previous Exodus episodes as they will build upon one another. Exodus 2:11-25  I respect each family's ages/stages of life so I have adapted some of this. Moses ends up taking matters into his own hands and ends up fleeing from his home.  Our story will teach us some more about Moses but our big take away will be that God heard the Israelites cries. God hears in ways which we can not. He hears us no matter how we feel, where we live, or how many of us are talking at once. Heaven...what will it be like? No one knows all of the answers to this but we will use what the Bible tells us about it through John's experience. Today's story will cover these parts of heaven: 1. God will be with us 2. Everyone and everything will live in perfect peace 3.There will be no sickness or hurting 4. Luke 10:25-37 A man asks Jesus to explain who his neighbor is. Jesus then tells the story of 3 men who passed by a hurt man but only 1 of them helped him. Only 1 of them treated the hurt man as his neighbor. We learn what the Bible means when it says you must love your neighbor as you love yourself. Our story shows us it matters WHO we are. Are we people who will help others and obey Jesus or will we only do so if it's the right person, place and time to do so.   The apply section will help the children connect the dots and apply this in their own lives.
