Effect on EmotionsI
am more able to observe my emotion, I'm more calm and I don't react in
an intense, volcanic way like I used to when I was younger. I can really
observe scenarios and say okay you know what this is really upsetting
me because xyz is that what you meant and then the other person says no
that's not what I meant. I can talk through things without having an
intense, emotional reaction and I think that is from being so mindful
and all the meditation work that I have done.

patient please. I find so often that people have so many questions i.e.
Am I doing it right? Just observe your emotions and trust that you will
get it right. Keep at it, don't stop every day or so to observe whether
it's working, just keep going.

105 Consistency and Mindfulness Weekends With Bruce Langford
Consistency paired with mindfulness will help you achieve your most
important goals. Stick with it. I'm sure you've heard that plenty of
times. Consistency can be one of the trickiest concepts, because as
humans, we tend to see things differently depending on our mood and the
world around us. When you decide on a goal, it is important to also
decide at the same time to be consistent.
Create a habit to help
you achieve your goal and keep that habit going. Be consistent and you
will notice you'll start to do the action like its on auto pilot. This
is what I found when I was learning to play the piano, then later the
accordion and saxophone. Sometimes my mind would tell me the song was
too hard, I'd never get the rhythms, and I might as well give up. In
spite of those voices, I'd usually end up practicing anyway, and by
being consistent, putting in the time and sticking with it, I'd
eventually learn to play the piece of music I was working on.
Quotes:“Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.” Anthony Robbins
It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently. Tony Robbins
If you are persistent you will get it. If you are consisted your will keep it. Anon
Consistency is not perfection. It is simply refusing to give up. Tina Reale
Consistent action creates consistent results. Christine Kane
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle

Effect on EmotionsIt definitely makes me much more even keeled. Since I started meditating I would say that I am much better able to handle the ups and down's of life much more quickly and have a better response to them.
Thoughts on BreathingI am one of those people who probably holds my breath and gets way too intense in the moment at times. I think for me the number one thing is when I catch myself holding my breath and being so over the top intense, just taking a deep breath and just slowing down and decompressing. Also walking away from things for a minute so that I can gain some perspective, then revisiting them is the way I have to handle that.
Suggested ResourcesThe Oprah Show: Super Soul Sunday Episodes By Oprah Winfrey
Advice for NewbieI would say get started on doing what comes naturally to you. If you like to walk outside, go for a walk and instead of listening to the radio or listening to music just say for ten minutes I am going to get still and present and just count my blessings. Find something that is a match for your personality for what's most comfortable for you. Definitely give yourself an opportunity to take a couple minutes for reflection everyday in a way that feels right for you that incorporates in your life. It will absolutely have an affect on not only your success but also your happiness.

Effect on EmotionsIt
has definitely helped so much in my life. It has made me happier, it
really has and being mindful has made me more grateful for the world
around me. It has made me realize that we live in an amazing place, so I
can't say enough about how much it has impacted me.
Thoughts on BreathingBreathing
really helps me get centered and it relieves stress from my life, so
when I feel like I have a million things that are discombobulated in my
head, just taking a step back, working on my breathing, being present.
This really relieves so much stress from my life and as a fitness guy
I'm going to say that it will help decrease your cortical levels. You
wanna keep your cortical down so having some type of stress relief
practice in your life can really help with that and breathing is just
one of those things.
Suggested ResourcesBook: Mindset Matters Most By Brian Grasow

Advice for NewbieDon't
think that you have to do a million things to get benefits from it.
Start with one simple practice, take timeouts during your day. If your
stressed out at work just take a couple minutes every single day to get
up and move around, take some deep breaths and you can build on things.
If your starting with meditation, you might start with a simple hundred
count breathing exercise and then expand on that as you become more
comfortable with it but simply it at first. Build small incremental
habits one step at a time and over the long haul you will see a ton of
results.

102 Change Your Thoughts Using Mindfulness Weekends With Bruce Langford
Change your thoughts and let mindfulness help you do it. Dr. Wayne
Dyer encourages you to do the same. He even wrote and entire book
dedicated to this concept. It is based on the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu.
Quotes:If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.
“You must become the producer, director and actor in the unfolding story of your life.” — Wayne Dyer
“Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.” — Wayne Dyer
“There
is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love;
there’s only scarcity of resolve to make it happen.” — Wayne Dyer
“Passion
is a feeling that tells you: this is the right thing to do. Nothing can
stand in my way. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says. This feeling
is so good that it cannot be ignored. I’m going to follow my bliss and
act upon this glorious sensation of joy.” — Wayne Dyer
“What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds.” — Wayne Dyer
“The
more you see yourself as what you’d like to become, and act as if what
you want is already there, the more you’ll activate those dormant forces
that will collaborate to transform your dream into your reality.” —
Wayne Dyer
“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.” — Wayne Dyer
“Not
only do you become what you think about, but the world also becomes
what you think about. Those who think that the world is a dark place are
blind to the light that might illuminate their lives. Those who see the
light of the world view the dark spots as merely potential light.” —
Wayne Dyer
“If you believe it will work out , you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t you will see obstacles.” — Wayne Dyer
“Begin with the end in mind. Start with the end outcome and work backwards to make your dream possible.” — Wayne Dyer
“A belief system is nothing more than a thought you’ve thought over and over again.” — Wayne Dyer

Effect on EmotionsOne
hundred percent it has because it allows you to be calm and master your
emotions because your emotions can result in some of the most erratic
actions. It really helps you and for me to really think logical before I
react out of emotion.
Thoughts on BreathingBreathing
is a big part of it just because with anything, with breathing, air,
oxygen that's what keeps you centered. That's me when I am practicing
yoga but that what keeps you centered and that's what keeps your body
centered. So even throughout both physically or mentally our most
tedious points or experiences, breathing is always what will keep you
centered.
Suggested ResourcesBook: Rafa by Rafael Nadal
Advice for NewbieThe
most important thing is momentum and what I mean by that is breaking it
down to very very small steps. I once heard that habit is formed after
three weeks. After practicing something for three weeks it becomes a
habit so whether it's making sure you just drink two liters of water a
day, just something as simple as that. If you are continually building
on that and making that a habit and practicing it over and over again
you are going to build momentum and then you're going to be able to take
on something else. For mindfulness start small and build on it, gain
momentum to move forward.

Effect on EmotionsIt has really just made me more present and it has made me just less dramatic of a person. I am not so stressed out about the future and regretting the past and thinks I now can't control. It has just made me more of a present, relaxed and calm individual.
Thoughts on BreathingWhen I meditate every day and I have that headband on that is measuring my brainwaves, when I am doing well it is because I am breathing deeply and really thoughtfully. When I am not I've noticed that my breathing really has shifted and I am not really focused on my deep breathing and more on my shallow breathing, so it's been a big impact.

Advice for NewbieStart slow, a couple minutes a day, just sit down and be quiet, just breathe and just close your eyes so you can be present in the moment and focus on your breathing. Go to three minutes and then a couple weeks later go to four. Then maybe if you can invest in yourself or invest in an app or invest in something like this chose muse device that I use which is really powerful and just continue to grow slowly and surely.

Effect on EmotionsI
have learned how to ignore the rest of the worlds judgement on emotion
and pursue momentum. I think that for most of us people that think like
you and I do have a hard time with happy, sad, frustrated, ticked off,
pissed off, and confused, we don't know the difference. For me learning
who I really was and getting a higher level of presence showed me that
my life's motivation is to create momentum, forward motion and
innovation not happiness. That's a bulls**t term that doesn't work for
me.
Thoughts on BreathingI
think there is four pillars to becoming a transformational leader,
breathing, hydration, nutrition and movement. Most people would say I
was crazy because I didn't name one thing about the functions of being a
leader, but if you breathe, you hydrate, you're supported nutritionally
and you move an appropriate amount, you will be the most present person
in the room.

Advice for NewbieGet
away from electronics as much as you can and don't turn a screen on in
the morning until you have had at least an hour or two of time to become
present and plan your day. Then understand your intention for the day
and record were you uncomfortable yesterday, that will take you out of
the constant reactivity most humans are in today.

just taking a breath allows you too pivot and remind yourself where

perfect in the moment.

Advice for NewbieI
think that if you think about mindfulness and if you just wanna bring
