The Ultimate Journey of Self-Care
Alison Katschkowsky
What does Self Care look like to you?
It's not a spa day, a massage or a workout. It's not a day off from work, or a bubble bath.
It's so much more than the things we do, it's HOW we prioritize ourselves in general.
Join me every Tuesday and Thursday for two different editions of the Ultimate Journey of Self Care.
Tuesday's show is a deeper dive into what self care can look like for you with conversations about fitness, mindset, energy eating and fuel for your body, spirituality, travel and leisure and more.
On Thursdays we'll take a closer look at self care for your business, on the Business Edition, as an entrepreneur, with short bite sized episodes about growing and innovating in your business in a post pandemic world.
Join me and we'll take a walk on the journey of self care together. Subscribe and Follow us so you don't miss an episode.

The Seasons of Connection in Self-Care: A Journey of Awareness
Did you know there are ‘seasons of connection’ when it comes to self care?Like the weather, seasons can signify a new start, a time to rest, a time to protect and a time to rejuvenate. How we do us is in a sense like a cycle of seasons. This episode is a closer look at a unique way of examining where your own self care is high and yet where it needs attention. My guest is Leanne Kabot, a national writer, author and speaker--and the founder of the ‘5 Seasons of Connection’. In our conversation we touch on the power of our awareness, and how our thoughts and actions drive our choices regarding self care, and some easy strategies on where you can identify what areas you should focus on.GUEST LINKS:Leanne’s website: https://5seasonslife.com/Leanne’s Linked In Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/leannekabat/Leanne’s Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/author/leannekabatSHOW WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:www.cufitness.comJoin my signature online 6 step Fit Life system Program:https://cufitness.thinkific.com/courses/functional-fitness-live-for-you-july-2020Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alison.h.katschkowsky?ref=bookmarksJoin my Facebook Community: LIving your Ultimate Life through Fitness and Self Carehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/743439322342659/Check out our retreats! www.cufitnessretreats.comInstagram: @fitstylegalTwitter: @ahkats See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Lessons that Fitness Teaches Us
This episode features someone from our audience that reached out and wanted to share her story. For so many people, fitness itself is what teaches us HOW not just to do US better, but HOW to live our lives better. It could be showing you a better way forward, or simply giving you a new idea or solution to a problem. And it more often than not, helps you strengthen your confidence AND your resolve to KEEP GOING.Hear Felicia Sanders’ story from how she came to the US as child, to how she signed up for a tough race without knowing the first thing about it to how she views facing difficult challenges today as a wife and mom, and prioritizing her self care in all of that. It’s a story worth hearing. Listen in as she drops several nuggets about forgiving yourself, being able to make time for yourself daily in different ways and still being the person you want to be.GUEST LINKS: Felicia’s site: https://campsatsea.com/LInk to get Felicia’s book--’The Sunflower’ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FYNXDVKFelicia’s Instagram: @campsatsea2, and @tripitlikeyoumeanitFelicia’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/campsatsea AND https://www.facebook.com/tripitlikeyoumeanitSHOW WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:www.cufitness.comJoin our FREE online event--happening this week! The Fit LIfe Master Class! https://cufitness.com/masterclasssept2020Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alison.h.katschkowsky?ref=bookmarksJoin my Facebook Community: LIving your Ultimate Life through Fitness and Self Carehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/743439322342659/Check out our retreats! www.cufitnessretreats.comInstagram: @fitstylegal See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Functional Strength Training from the INSIDE - Training Your Pelvic Floor
Did you know that you can strength train from the inside? Yep, even around your pelvic floor and bladder!Honest question----ever laugh really hard and suddenly feel like you are about to pee in your pants? What about sneezing? Don’t laugh, but there IS a training for that. Look, as we get older we literally need to think about HOW we train HOW our body works, as well as training our muscles and just moving our body.Aging just makes that a reality. My guest calls herself a pelvic floor strength coach and specifically has programs and ideas for HOW you can take care of that embarrassing feeling of losing control of your bladder. And it’s really simple. Listen as Jennifer Penney shares valuable info for all of us--we CAN get over accidentally peeing in our pants!GUEST LINKS: Jennifer’s website: ABCSTronger.comSHOW WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:www.cufitness.comJoin my FREE FIT LIFE MASTER CLASS--starting on September 21st!https://cufitness.com/masterclasssept2020Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alison.h.katschkowsky?ref=bookmarksJoin my Facebook Community: LIving your Ultimate Life through Fitness and Self Carehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/743439322342659/Check out our retreats! www.cufitnessretreats.comInstagram: @fitstylegalTwitter: @ahkats See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sleep and Dreams in Self-Care
Sleep and dreams can tell us a lot about ourselves, and what we are either facing, or what we have in our subconscious mind. Dream experts have said for years that a lot of the kinds of dreams we have are indicative and reflective of challenges and problems we are facing in our own lives in disguise.Holly Emmerson is a Dream Oracle, and has an amazing ability to connect with spirits in the dream world for her clients--and in so doing, she is able to help get answers and solutions for her clients. We often see ‘messages’ in our thoughts and in our dreams that can help us solve problems and come up with answers to challenges we have in our lives. One area of self care that can be a game changer for us is having a ‘bedtime’ routine, much like a morning routine. Like a workout, there is a need to really ‘exercise’ the sleep and dream muscles so they can help you in life.Listen in to my chat with Holly about some simple tips to help you maximize your bedtime and sleep routine.GUEST LINKS: https://hollyemmerson.com/Holly’s IG: @dreamoracleHollyYouTube: @Dream Oracle HollySHOW WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:www.cufitness.comJoin my signature online 6 step Fit Life system Program:https://cufitness.thinkific.com/courses/functional-fitness-live-for-you-july-2020Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alison.h.katschkowsky?ref=bookmarksJoin my Facebook Community: LIving your Ultimate Life through Fitness and Self Carehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/743439322342659/Check out our retreats! www.cufitnessretreats.comInstagram: @fitstylegalTwitter: @ahkats See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Shame and Self-Care
Do you ever blame yourself for what you THINK you should have done differently? This often presents itself in the form of negative self talk and our mind listens to it. It’s called SHAME and it's a human condition--which often shows up in the other areas of our lives to keep us from reaching our goals.Listen in to my candid conversation with my guest about not only what SHAME is, but HOW it can either hold us back, or help us decide to break the stranglehold it has on us and how we make our choices.Allyson Roberts is a therapist and national expert on the concept of SHAME and all it’s components. In our conversation she drops many golden nuggets of wisdom which you can use to help reprogram your thoughts and how you move forward.Self care IS what we do to look after ourselves best. Do You Believe What You Think? You May Want to Rethink That
Do you ever stop and pay attention to your thoughts? Like really pay attention to them?We think in excess of 50,000 thoughts in one day easily--the majority of them are either similar or repetitive. And some we don’t even remember (obviously). And like how we teach in a fitness program, the goal is to get efficient and effective at what you do WELL so you can see benefit. This in turn saves you time, energy and produces the results you want. This is most definitely the outcome you want for mindset management--a tried and true plan for managing your thoughts, being curious about them and a plan to ‘sort and file’ them so you can continue to make decisions that serve you is KEY not just for moving your forward, but for keeping you in a place that serves you.My guest is Liz Nicklas--and she is a master mindset coach, and is one of the coaches in my mastermind program. I have had the great privilege of working with Liz all this year and she offers up some amazing tips and strategies to help you get in front of how your mind works.
