On Emotional Freedom - Ep. 119
Send us a textWe are entirely responsible for our emotions. In fact, our feelings and behaviors are the only aspects of life we can fully control. However, in order for that to be true, we must detach ourselves from expecting, supposing, and assuming. By following this practice and trying not to make assumptions we find emotional freedom. But aren’t assumptions the way we respond to the world? In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade points out that “emotions are like road signs, always pointing you in certain directions”. The way we deal with everything is derived from our emotional responses, which happen to be derived from our emotional past. To choose how to respond to situations is to have emotional freedom, but emotional mature choices only come from emotional mature minds. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade takes the topic of metabolism to the next level! Living a metabolic life – meaning: letting the metabolism guide you, not other people’s opinions – is super important. The 4 Untruths: Changing Our Stories to Change the World - Ep. 117
Send us a textHave you heard of seed stories? They might come from stories we were told when we were kids, from common sense, or they may be universal beliefs passed on to us throughout the years. In any case, we all carry truths inside of us that we believe to be undeniable facts. It is difficult to unravel these truths due to the possibility of finding out that they are false, but a necessary step toward self-development; toward, eventually, making the world a better place. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade analyzes the 4 untruths we tend to consider cold facts: “I am special,” “I deserve,” “Life is fair,” “Death is bad.” However, if you change your relationship with these stories, you free yourself up from the suffering caused by these stories. Tune in if you’re ready to learn why freeing yourself from false truths allows you to embrace true ones. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! Send us a textEach one of us has unique talents, different pursuits in life and singular philosophies that rule our personality. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade explains the difference between all of them and what role they play as we get through life. Sustainability & Stewardship in Health and Fitness with Autumn Smith - Ep. 115
Send us a textHealth and fitness are two topics whose relation to food is highly important. After all, what we put inside our bodies on a daily basis directly impacts how we feel – and even what we think. Not only that, food also has a correlation with quality of life and mental health issues. When choosing what to eat, choose wisely, because your body function depends on it. In this episode, Dr. Jade and guest Autumn Smith talk about the importance of making ourselves a priority when it comes to our eating habits. Our own wellbeing is what we should be paying attention to when choosing a proper eating lifestyle for ourselves. That’s how Autumn envisions her mission and why she strongly implements this concept into her company: Paleovalley. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! On Looking Good: The Art & Science Of Fat Loss - Ep. 114
Send us a textLet’s talk about fitness, one of the most important things to do is define your goal. This goal oftentimes impacts the way we look, the way we feel, how long we live and how well we function. In this episode, Dr. Jade explains the importance of focusing on one specific thing at a time because: “the metabolism doesn’t like to multitask”. He also highlights the main points of fat loss, the difference between fat loss and weight loss, the types of workouts we should maintain when trying to lose fat, and the role that cardio and nutrition play in this process. According to Dr. Jade, it’s not enough to just go out and exercise for it to ‘be fitness’; in fact, if your goal is weight loss, exercising too much can get in the way of that goal. In addition, you will learn the contrast between a higher carbohydrate/lower fat diet, a lower carbohydrate/higher fat diet and how to maintain protein high in both cases. Either way one thing is true: we’re all different individuals so the approach will inevitably change. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! Metabolism and the Gut with Dr. Mary Pardee - Ep. 113
Send us a textWhen we think about the significance of food for our overall health we almost immediately think about the type of food, right? This external source that goes into our body is relevant, but what if we also began analyzing what happens inside of the body? The immune system, digestive system, metabolism and gut health are all connected. In fact, even other systems and organs can be affected by the importance we give to the way we feed ourselves. The human body is a concise group of mechanisms working together and learning more about it is a ‘next level’ step towards our wellbeing. In this episode, Dr. Jade welcomes Dr. Mary Pardee in a conversation all about metabolism and the gut.
