Covid Update: Science, Vaccine and Variants - Ep. 125
Send us a textMore than one and a half years have passed since the world began facing a contagious and unknown virus; not only affecting people’s health conditions, but also people’s opinions on several matters. The debate now is about pros and cons of taking the vaccine or not taking the vaccine for this virus. While part of society trusts in science and looks only at the data, the other half believes that being immune goes way beyond simply taking a vaccine shot. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade gives you a complete overview on the current situation of COVID in the world, how the new variants can be taken into account, what science has to show in terms of data, and why the debate on pro-vax versus anti-vax is so polarized right now. On Pain & Purpose with Matthew Paetz - Ep. 122
Send us a textPainful experiences and traumas should not be seen and treated as a competition between two individuals. At an emotional level, no one suffered more than the other. Everybody is equal in their pain and we should use the experience to, in fact, connect and inspire. What other use could possibly be given to pain if not making it the incentive to purpose? In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade sits down with Matthew Paetz to have an inspiring conversation about pain, purpose and encouragement. Matthew talks about his personal trauma and how he used it as a way to support others and normalize other people’s fears. He also explains that trauma in a sense doesn’t understand context, which makes everyone’s suffering just the same. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! On Calories - Ep. 121
Send us a textIn today’s episode, Dr. Jade gives you an overview on calories, how they work and how they impact fat loss practices. While calories can be worked simply by counting them with a food calculator app, it’s important to know yourself first and pay attention to how your body and metabolism uniquely function. How we want to be looking at calories is: they are energy and should be treated alongside a sustained diet. Dr. Jade also explains the difference between portions of food and the energy density corresponding to that specific food. Different portions of food have different numbers of calories and they don’t always match, for example, a super small portion of granola has a super high number of calories in it. By underestimating this equation people end up counteracting any progress during their fat loss journey. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! What Workout Should I Do? - Ep. 120
Send us a textWhen we think about starting a fat loss process, the first thing that comes to mind is: “I should exercise more.” This concept has been a staple in the fitness industry for years, which makes it an incontestable truth to many. However, in terms of a fat loss phase, more recent research reveals that exercise programs work less than we think they do: it’s fundamental to maintain a weight loss phase, but not very useful if you’re just getting started. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade explains the details about the research on TDEE levels, metabolism and all the variables involved. When it comes to initiating a fat loss or weight loss phase the main focus should be calorie reduction, more movement (like light cardio, leisure walk) and slowly increasing our weight training sessions during the week. On Emotional Freedom - Ep. 119
Send us a textWe are entirely responsible for our emotions. In fact, our feelings and behaviors are the only aspects of life we can fully control. However, in order for that to be true, we must detach ourselves from expecting, supposing, and assuming. By following this practice and trying not to make assumptions we find emotional freedom. But aren’t assumptions the way we respond to the world? In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade points out that “emotions are like road signs, always pointing you in certain directions”. The way we deal with everything is derived from our emotional responses, which happen to be derived from our emotional past. To choose how to respond to situations is to have emotional freedom, but emotional mature choices only come from emotional mature minds. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors! Living Metabolic Putting the Metabolism First - Ep. 118
Send us a textWhen it comes to what is healthy and what is not people tend to go to extremes. With so many opinions out there, we forget to look to our “inner guide”: the metabolism. Our metabolism is speaking to us all the time, but we have a hard time listening to it and because human beings are so different from one another; listening to it matters. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade takes the topic of metabolism to the next level! Living a metabolic life – meaning: letting the metabolism guide you, not other people’s opinions – is super important. Forgetting the new research, the guru on social media, the articles on the internet and focusing on you will eventually lead you to a more healthy and balanced life. The 4 Untruths: Changing Our Stories to Change the World - Ep. 117
Send us a textHave you heard of seed stories? They might come from stories we were told when we were kids, from common sense, or they may be universal beliefs passed on to us throughout the years. In any case, we all carry truths inside of us that we believe to be undeniable facts. It is difficult to unravel these truths due to the possibility of finding out that they are false, but a necessary step toward self-development; toward, eventually, making the world a better place. In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade analyzes the 4 untruths we tend to consider cold facts: “I am special,” “I deserve,” “Life is fair,” “Death is bad.” However, if you change your relationship with these stories, you free yourself up from the suffering caused by these stories. Tune in if you’re ready to learn why freeing yourself from false truths allows you to embrace true ones. Check out the Next Level Human sponsors!
