Friendship - The threads that matter, no matter what

Send us a textThis week’s theme is Friendship and is represented by card #32 and the nasturtium. The root word for friendship is related to love, the kind that takes you on an adventure. We never know which card will be drawn. But over the years of practicing with the Gratitude Blooming card deck, we’ve learned one thing: there is no random. The card finds you.In one of our gratitude circles, a woman in hospice in Texas joined us — as she often did — to pull a card. This time, the card she drew was Friendship, represented by the nasturtium. She wept. Her best friend had just flown in from Indiana on a one-way ticket to move in with her and her family for the rest of her days.“Who does that?” she asked aloud. And then answered herself: “She goes, ‘I’d only do it for you.’ We’ve known each other 45 years.”That is what friendship means. Not asking why. Vulnerability - All shall be well...one way or another

Send us a textThe theme Vulnerability is represented by card #09 the rose. We hear the artist Arlene Kim Suda share how the rose she illustrated spoke to her like a poet. Vulnerability is an opportunity to experience both joy and pain. To be fully alive, we have to make room for both. Or as Kahlil Gibran reminds us, “The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose.” Leave us a message or text our Gratitude Hotline: 510-866-9648 or email us at hello@gratitudeblooming.com.
