The ultimate home office set-up

Welcome to my home office. Since Inventium officially became a remote-first organisation, I’ve been making improvements to my set up with the help of my dad, who’s very tech savvy.By using a semi-professional camera as a webcam, I get amazing clear images for online meetings and presentations. I can control the lighting and make sure I look great, without lights shining in my eyes. I’ve turned my office into a mini-recording studio for podcast and presentation recordings. I’ve even started to exercise while I work. My set-up includes:  Computer - iMac 27"Monitor - Dell 27" 4kCamera - Canon XA20I turn my video camera into a webcam with - Elgato Cam Link 4KMicrophone - Shure KSM8 dynamicI connect my mic to my computer with - Focusrite Scarlett2 2i2Recording - Sound Devices MixPre-6Lighting - Elgato Key Light Air x 2Controller - Elgato Stream DeckTeleprompter - Glide Gear TMP100 Camera Monitor - LILLIPUT A11 10.1 inch 3G-SDI VGA MonitorTreadmill desk - Lifespan Fitness Walkingpad Pro TreadmillCheck out Lady Startup Stories: Hannah and Rachel Vasicek: https://omny.fm/shows/lady-startup/francescaCREDITSProduced by InventiumHost: Amantha ImberSound Engineer: Martin ImberSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Why Adam Grant wants you to schedule a regular life check-up

How often do you stop and check-in about how you’re tracking with your career and the job you are in? How do you know you're not blindly following a career path you’re going to regret years down the track?  Organisational psychologist and best-selling author Adam Grant says we should all be scheduling life check-ups. A life check-up is just like scheduling an appointment with a doctor, even if you don’t suspect anything is wrong. By putting a reminder in your calendar twice a year to review where you’re at, you’ll be more likely to see the vital signs before it’s too late.  He also shares his hacks for effective remote collaboration and the benefits of setting up your own ‘challenge network’ and how to start one. Connect with Adam here: https://www.adamgrant.net/Take the Think Again quiz here: https://www.adamgrant.net/quizzes/think-again-quiz/And grab a copy of Think Again here: https://www.adamgrant.net/book/think-again/Visit amanthaimber.com/podcast for full show notes from all episodes. Get in touch at amantha@inventium.com.au If you are looking for more tips to improve the way you work, I write a short monthly newsletter that contains three cool things that I have discovered that help me work better, which range from interesting research findings through to gadgets I am loving.
