Stop compromising. You're either unaware, scared, or lazy, here's how to know and what to do.
We have updated our mission statement at Active Life to read "empower a life of freedom, without compromise." So it's incumbent on us to describe what it means to compromise, and why we so often find ourselves doing it. Then, we need to describe a process to eliminate it in our lives. This podcast is a start. And there will be many more. Enjoy.

Balance is ONLY found doing world class work
"Work life balance" is a crutch used to justify laziness. You don't know anyone who regularly thinks about creating more balance, who is doing anything worthwhile. The people you know who have the most balance in their lives are the people pursuing world class performance in everything they do. Balance is being present, and inspired at all times, and being present and inspired at all times is world class. Allow this episode to challenge your belief system because the reality is that we don't have beliefs, we have things we've learned, which means we can unlearn them... All of them, should we choose.

Listen to this every time you feel stuck
I decided to record a podcast to remind me of how I feel in life, right now. I bet many of you are going to find it relatable, which I find fascinating. We are in completely different phases of our lives. Some of you more successful than me, some less. Some of you older, some younger. And we will have commonality on this podcast that neither of us ever expected. The whole episode is me talking to me. So if it sounds like me talking to you, it means we have something in common.

Why people think personal development is woo woo, and what they're missing...
Active Life is a personal development company disguised as a health, fitness, and business company. We help people develop into the person they need and want to become in order to live a life of freedom, without compromise. Too often peope are focused on the "what", as in "what do they need to do to get what they want to get", we prefer to focus on the "be", as in "who do you need to be to not need what you currently want to get?" Enjoy

What if it's offensive? - Finding your voice and betting on yourself.
Hi, Dr. Sean here... Years ago I told my friend, Rachel Balkovec that I felt like my voice was not coming through. I was speaking like a recent school graduate applying for their first job, timid, and unclear. I wanted to speak more like Muhammad Ali, or Steve Jobs. You may not have sensed it, but until about a month ago I was still feeling like I was speaking in someone else's voice. I felt like for years the old me spoke so loudly, brazenly, and brashly that I needed to quiet that way down. The best analogy I can share is that I was like a TV on full volume at a bar where only some people want to watch the game. I was distracting for everyone else, and even the people watching are having a hard time with the volume. So I turned the knob down. I pleased everyone in the room as best I could by making it impossible to hear the TV unless you were sitting right near it. That led to people leaving the bar because they wanted to go where the TV was loud enough to enjoy the game, and their friends left with them. I was confused. What is going on and why am I not "breaking through"? What I now understand is that it's time to turn the vilume back up. Way up. It's not a bar at all, it's. night club, and I'm the music. I compromised for years. For as long as I can remember. That guy is gone. My personal development over the last six years has been intense, impactful, and intentional. I am the best husband I know how to be, the best father I know how to be, the best boss I know how to be, the best everything I know how to be, and I'm going to be even better tomorrow. Welcome to the club. Let's dance.
