Esther O’Callaghan OBE is an entrepreneur with a philanthropic edge. She was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to the voluntary sector, and now is the founder of Hundo, a Web3 platform on a mission to end youth unemployment. Hundo’s plan is to give one billion learners worldwide access to the one billion tech roles needed globally by 2030, through upskilling and access to rapid agile learning. In this episode we talk about Esther’s story from her early days owning a record store through to cofounding a Web3 business. Sheila Lirio Marcelo sold her previous tech business for a cool $500 million in 2020, and has now embarked on a Web3 adventure as cofounder and CEO of learn and earn Web3 platform Proof of Learn. Sheila has had an incredible career so far, founding Care.com in 2006, starting as an online marketplace for childcare before offering senior care, pet care, housekeeping and more. Before starting Care.com she was VP of Product Management and Marketing at Upromise, a service that helped families save for college, and she was Entrepreneur in Residence at Matrix Partners. Shari Glazer is a serial philanthropist who cofounded the Shari & Edward Glazer Charitable Trust, and she’s the general partner of the US Digital Trust. Her husband’s family the Glazers also own Manchester United football club in the UK and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shari began working on web3 strategy in 2020, advising sports teams and leagues on their NFT and blockchain strategies, then launched Kalos Labs in 2022 to provide strategy, execution and tech help to brands entering Web3, where she has led the drop of Axiom Space’s NFTs which were minted at the International Space Station. Shiti Rastogi Manghani is the Chief Operating Officer at Find Satoshi Labs, best known for its hugely successful move-to-earn product STEPN which rewards users for movement. She’s originally an electronics engineer, she’s worked at PepsiCo, she also has an MBA in marketing and she’s run her own business - becoming a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in Microsoft’s Diversity in Tech awards in 2021. Shiti is passionate about Web3 and its applications, but she is realistic about what needs to change in many Web3 products. Elise Swopes is a New York based digital artist who has been making a name for herself online since being one of the original influencers on Instagram for nearly a decade - and garnering over 270k followers in the process! Elise has now turned her attention to Web3, where she has created Sunrise Art Club, a creative impact agency helping brands and individuals feel involved in Web3. It’s a project that began as a series of 365 photography NFTs, one sunrise up for auction every day in 2022. We cover her experience in major brand partnerships (Adobe, Kellogg’s, and McDonald’s to name a few), life in NFTs, and using Web3 to share the work of incarcerated artists. Zoe Scaman is the founder of a strategy studio called Bodacious where she’s been working at the intersection of entertainment and fandom. Rather than being squarely in Web3 or the advertising industry, Zoe sits across several industries, pulling in insights from everywhere. She worked her way up through advertising for the last 20 years, and has recently worked with big brands like Nike and Netflix, and personalities such as Mark Cuban. Susie Batt is the Crypto Ecosystem Lead for Opera, the internet browser that’s been around for 25 years and is now getting known again for one of its newer products, a Web3-native browser. Susie first got hooked on blockchain when she learned about how it could cut out bureaucratic processes and get rid of fraud, first joining blockchain software company Consensys, and later joining Opera in 2020 to lead community building in crypto and wider Web3. Jenny From The Blockchain is the co-host of the hugely popular podcast NFT Catcher. She’s been a content creator in NFTs since their early days, being one of the first couple of thousand people to buy an NBA Top Shot and sharing her learnings on YouTube. She’s also the Head of Marketing for an NFT trading platform called Evaluate.xyz, and prior to falling down the Web3 rabbithole she was a beauty TikToker where she has over 700,000 followers. Marieke Flament is the CEO of NEAR Foundation, which launched NEAR protocol, a well known blockchain development platform. Marieke is French born, and after completing her degree in computer science she started her career in Shanghai in China at the luxury business LVMH, which owns Louis Vuitton and other brands. She’s spent the last 16 years working across tech and crypto, including at Expedia’s business Hotels.com, and more recently as CEO of Circle, the fintech company that founded USDC, the stablecoin that’s pegged to the US dollar.
