Time Waits For No One - Denham Hitchcock On Leaving A Successful Career To Sail Around The World.
Denham Hitchcock made his living bringing stories to life. On our TV screens for nearly 30 years, he was the jacked, good looking cat reporting on the ground in war zones, unearthing hidden truths & sharing tragic stories & it taught him one thing: 'time waits for no one, dreams shouldn't be left on the pillow'. That realisation was the catalyst for a major life change when he, his wife & daughter set sail on the adventure of a life time, one he reports to be quite fulfilling. In our conversation we yarn about some of the lessons he learnt reporting on both tragic & thought provoking stories, the truth about life on a catamaran, what he has learnt about himself along the way & how this isn't just a pipe dream but a very real option for those looking to escape the rat race & how his family made it happen.Be sure to follow Denham & I on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh insta: @denhamhitchcock To follow Denham & his families sailing adventures check out their YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SailingSVRioTo book me for a keynote, check the link below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable.Big love,Brad xx Hosted on Acast. Perfectionism Fuelled Success & A Dangerous Obsession ft. Amy Ruffle.
Amy Ruffle is an actress, comedian & all-round entertainer. In her adolescent years, Amy trained & competed as an elite diver. It was the early foundation of a relationship with perfectionism that eventually proved to be detrimental to her health, leading her down the path of an eating disorder that she courageously & vulnerably opens up about in the episode. From the age of 13, acting was on the radar. After leaving school Amy studied musical theatre before landing her first role on TV in Netflix's 'Mako Mermaids'. The show lasted 4 seasons before she left Australia to pursue a career in Hollywood. The 6 years spent in LA introduced her to improv comedy which has no doubt played a major role in her career development & her recent work as one of the consistent faces on the most recent season of Australian TV classic 'Thank God You're Here'.She is also a producer, writer & passionate advocate for a few worthy causes that are close to her heart.Outside of her career, Amy's life has had its fair share of adversity, twists & turns, which made for an honest & vulnerable conversation.Be sure to follow Amy & I on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh @amylouiseruffleTo book me for a keynote, check the link below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable.Big love,Brad xx Hosted on Acast. Hooked On Life: Living Through The Lens Of The Author ft. Tom Nash.
Tom Nash aka 'DJ Hookie' is a quadruple amputee after narrowly surviving the grip of a shock meningococcal diagnosis now 20 years ago. He is the co-founder of Starfvckers, a Sydney based club in which he first headlined as DJ Hookie. He is a world renowned speaker & storyteller, having graced stages across the world including TED X in Sydney during 2019 to deliver his memorable keynote 'The Perks Of Being A Pirate', & he is a newly acclaimed author.Losing his limbs, particularly his arms has afforded Tom one of his most recognisable features: his pirate hooks. Recalling a conversation with Mark 'Chopper' Read, Tom described a desire to be remembered for more than his physical disability, to live a life interesting enough to write a memoir about. Not only has he lived a life rich in story but his story now finds its place on any good book shelf, by the title of 'Hook, Line & Sinner'.In this conversation we don't only follow some of Tom's story but we discuss ideas such as:- Why Tom embraces dark humour.- Narrowly surviving the meningococcal c-strain & why he had to have all 4 of his limbs amputated.- Playing the role of the 'author' & how this can afford you a meaningful life.- The life changing difference between resilience & 'anti-fragility'.- Reverse engineering your problems to create simple solutions.Be sure to follow Tom & I on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh @djhookieCheck out Tom's website for all speaking & book information:https://www.tomnash.com/To book me for a keynote, check the link below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable.Big love,Brad xx Hosted on Acast. 3 Mates On What It Means To Be A Leader.
In the name of vulnerability, Brad (The Captain) has come together with 2 of his best mates Tye (Phoony) & Joey (The Zoolander) for a series of episodes to tackle some of life’s big questions, topics & the tough stuff that we so often choose to battle in solitude. The aim is to inspire you to connect with your mates in vulnerability & hold space for each other on the foundation of unconditional love & support, whilst encouraging positive mental health. The boys feel so blessed to have the incredible friendship they do & it’s no coincidence that our depth of conversation has created such strength in our bond. This week they delve into the topic of leadership. All 3 of the lads were set homework to define leadership in their own words, identify leaders that inspire them & speak about the attributes required to step into the role of leadership in their own lives.Be sure to follow the boys on socials @bradleyjdryburgh @joeplumb_ @phoony103 Follow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world.
