Defusing Explosives In Iraq & Afghanistan: Daniel Glenn's Philosophy For Life To Combat Death & Fear // VIDEO.

Daniel Glenn served in the United States Navy as an EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) Officer. Roughly 50% of war casualties in Iraq & Afghanistan between late 2011 & 2020 were attributed to IED's (improvised explosive devices), Daniels job was to disarm & dispose of those devices - high stakes but high reward when executed correctly.Since leaving the Navy, he completed a masters degree as a Schwarzman Scholar (the oldest person to do so at that time), broke a record for the fastest mile in an 85 pound bomb-suit & donned that same suit to complete a half marathon all to raise funds for veterans, he now works as chief of staff for fintech company GoodLeap LLC.My first meeting with Daniel was in March 2023. We shared the stage at a 3 day speaking summit in Sydney, he was the most effective speaker I had ever watched live. His story held weight & his experiences were inspiring. His life philosophy sang to the tune of 'face your fears, face your enemy (your own weakness), seek adversity, believe in yourself, hear the call to action: your life is today'. A philosophy that inspired much of our conversation, alongside the tale of his remarkable story & the ups & downs of a life that has thrust Dan into the face of danger & deep introspection on a shockingly regular basis.Be sure to follow me on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh To book me for a keynote, check the link below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable! How A Former Drug Dealer Left Prison, Found Comedy & Changed His Life ft. Andrew Hamilton //VIDEO.

In June 2021, Andrew Hamilton was at the tail end of 2 day cocaine bender enjoying Guy Ritchie's 'Wrath Of Man' when NSW Police's 'Raptor Squad' kicked his door in & changed the trajectory of his life forever. Andrew was at the height of his drug dealing business, bringing in 5 figures a week. His beginnings in the Sydney underworld were as he describes, not morally challenging despite the knowledge he was breaking the law. Unlike heroin & ice, Andrew found his own moral comfort in the knowing that psychedelics weren't responsible for ruining their users lives. But somewhere along the line his own moral compass lost its way & his addictions to cocaine & gambling took over sending him on a spiral towards that fateful police raid that likely saved his life. After his arrest in 2021, Andrew was sentenced to a maximum security prison. Within the walls of his cell he found sobriety & introspection, with conditional bail, he was released to live with his parents & comedy became his saviour. In conversation with the award winning comic & soon to be published author, we reflected on his former life & the valuable lessons that has afforded him. We spoke of stand up comedy & what it gives him, all the whilst Andrew took every opportunity available to roast me & have me laughing uncontrollably for stretches of the episode. His story is one of changing your stars & the freedom that living a morally informed life gives your soul. I loved my time in conversation with Andrew & I am certain you will too.Be sure to follow Andrew & I on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh & @andrewhamiltoncomedyTo book me for a keynote, check the links below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghTo listen to his podcast 'Shit Gone Sideways' https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/shits-gone-sideways/id1655988399https://open.spotify.com/show/5HcW5SAK2PWb1Rte6uc6db?si=25789b5d843d4af8https://www.youtube.com/@shitsgonesidewaysFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable!Big love,Brad xx Hosted on Acast. Gary Jubelin On Catching Killers & The Hard Truth Behind Badness // VIDEO.

Gary Jubelin's 30 years in the NSW Police Force were not for the faint hearted. Arguably Australia's most celebrated homicide detective, Gary was responsible for leading the investigations into some of the countries most high profile cases: missing child William Tyrrell, the horrific case of Anita Cobby & the murder of 3 young Indigenous children in Bowraville. His fame made it's way from crime scenes to TV screens as one of the detectives portrayed in the Australian 'Underbelly' series, but it all come at a heavy cost.In 2019 Gary resigned from the force after being stood down over allegations of misconduct. He stands by his decision to record conversations with a person of interest in the William Tyrell case, having made a commitment to William's family that he would do whatever he could to bring them the closure they deserve. Gary was later criminally charged but has no regrets. Taking his passion for crime into life as a reporter & storyteller, Gary is the voice behind the popular true crime podcast 'I Catch killers' & 2 book's (I Catch Killers & Badness). His experience on the other side of crime has opened his eyes to a world in which not everything looks black & white anymore, it's deeper than that. He shares stories on meeting & befriending some of Australia's most notorious cons, what they have taught him about life & the new perspective he has gained as to what fuels crime in the first place. After sitting down with Gary for an incredibly honest & vulnerable conversation, I can honestly say that he is a great human being. A man who dedicated much of his life at great personal cost to bring some of our countries most evil individuals to justice, who now, through his career as a storyteller is using the power of empathy to understand what drives someone to a life of crime & how we can correct their course before it's too late.Be sure to follow Gary & I on socials: (Insta/TikTok) @bradleyjdryburgh & @icatchkillersTo book me for a keynote, check the links below:https://www.saxton.com.au/speakers/bradley-dryburghFollow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world & share the episode with a mate that would find it valuable!Big love,Brad xx Hosted on Acast. An All Black Legend's Battle With Anxiety & Depression ft. Sir John Kirwan // VIDEO.

At the 1987 Rugby World Cup, All-Blacks legend John Kirwan scored a length of the field try & in turn, he inspired a generation of future all-blacks & rugby greats to follow their own dreams. On the surface, he was the fit & strapping superstar that every young man wanted to be, but below the surface, he was fighting the toughest battle of his life: anxiety & depression. JK talks of his fear for speaking out at that troubling time. The fear that his career would be taken from him, that he would be labelled insane. It all came to a head in August, 1991, when on tour with the AB's in Argentina, he wanted to jump out of a 10-story hotel window. The kind words of a team mate saved JK's life that night.Fast forward several years and JK is now widely recognised as one of ‘the faces’ of depression and anxiety in New Zealand. In 2012, he was knighted for his services to mental health, an honour he strives to live up to every day. He’s the founder of several mental wellbeing organisations including the Sir John Kirwan Foundation, Mitey, and most recently, Groov, a workplace mental wellbeing platform. He’s also the author of All Blacks Don’t Cry: A Story of Hope and Stand By Me: Helping Your Teen Through Tough Times. He is also an incredibly talented keynote speaker, coach & commentator.
