CONSISTENT by Primal Potential
Elizabeth Benton
Why are we so stressed & overwhelmed? Why do we have clear & compelling goals but fail to reach them? How can we want to change so desperately yet make choices that keep us from that change? Because we keep focusing on the habits we want instead of building the skill of consistency that allows us to achieve them. Consistency is a skill. It's a superpower. It isn't one-size-fits all. It unlocks any door and makes every goal achievable. A more effective, realistic approach starts here.

712: Accumulated Yesterdays & Fearful Tomorrows
Worry gets in the way. We give too much time and energy to what Dale Carnegie refers to as accumulated yesterdays and fearful tomorrows. In today's episode, we're talking about actionable steps to change that. https://primalpotential.com/712/ I HIGHLY recommend the book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie. You can even listen to it on Audible! In fact, if you're new to audible, use this link to get a free 30-day trial AND your first book free!

710: Using Food for Emotional Needs
It's a listener Q&A episode! We're focusing on one of those "hard pills to swallow" and that is the fact that emotional eating doesn't really soothe anything. In this episode we're discussing the difference between finding a distraction and creating solution. Today's giveaway winner gets $20 gift card to Butcher Box! This Saturday we're answering these questions: How do I get myself to consistently lean toward more positive, productive, thought processes? How do you stop using food to soothe hurts? How can I save money in a way that doesn't make me feel stressed? How can I keep myself on a schedule? How do you start a meditation habit? I have heard you mention a few times that you have a goal this year of (I'm summarizing here, please forgive as it's been a while since I heard you talk about it) creating more meaningful connections, better relationships, and being less task focused when it comes to your boyfriend. Something like this, right? Do you talk about this in more depth anywhere? I can totally relate to this and it is definitely an area in my life that I can improve. Wanting to know and learn more about what you're doing. Found out today's winner of Butcher Box at the end of the episode! 708: Creating a Life You LOVE
I'm so excited to have Brooke Thomas back on the show! Too many people are "fine". Things are "okay". People are living a fine life, even a good life, but not a life they love. Oftentimes, setting a bigger vision feels weird. We're unsure of ourselves and make decisions based on how others might respond to the moves we make. That means living small! In this converation with Brooke Thomas, we talk about how to create clarity for your life and how to respond to yourself as you start going through the fears, doubts and dramas. Be on the lookout for Brooke's new podcast - the Live Out Loud Show launches this week and as soon as it's life, we'll link to it here! https://primalpotential.com/708/

707: Avoidance Isn't Refuge
One of the topics we're focusing on in this Saturday's Q&A is NUMBERS - the thing you see on the scale, on your bank account, or on anything else that contributes to your life and mindset. How do you face these figures? What does 'avoidance isn't refuge' mean when it comes to these numbers? Join us as we tackle the topic in this episode! Here's the complete list of questions we're answering today: I would love your opinion on tracking body composition and weight. I'm working with a counselor who wants me to avoid numbers altogether, as she thinks I try to over-control these variables. However, I believe that avoiding these numbers is hiding from them. You once said "avoidance isn't refuge" in the 12WT and it's always stuck with me. I think it's important to train myself to be able to face the numbers and have an objective, non-dramatic response to them regardless of what they are. I also think it's important to have an objective measure of progress so I can re-evaluate whether or not what I'm doing is working. On the other hand, I also feel a reasonable amount of stress at the thought of letting go of numerical measures of progress altogether, so maybe she's onto something. What are your thoughts? What are some physically actionable activities to ride out cravings? How do I stop self-sabotage and procrastination from keeping me from identifying what I truly want in my life? I'd love to hear tips for facing the plateau- after sustained effort, there is a point where the scale seems stuck- (or broken!) How do you maintain focus to have the positive belief that it will happen with sustained effort? What's your thoughts on nut consumption? I absolutely love them, so if you are pro-nut, when would Be the best time to eat them and with what? Today's giveaway winner gets a bottle of mood+! We announce the winner at the end of the episode! We have a giveaway every Saturday!
