235 | song writing, creativity, breakups, etc. with actor & singer Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead, Spring Awakening, Masters of Sex)
Unfortunately I didn't watch The Walking Dead and wasn't familiar with today's guest's music career before her team reached out about this interview--I'm now a fan. She was such a delightful, down-to-earth person with so much self-awareness creative spark. We talked about her experience moving away from her small town in the midwest to pursue her dream of acting and singing. We got into the on again, off again relationship that inspired her newest album Oh, Jonathan that just came out this month. Beyond her story and career we talked about her experience with therapy, body image, family, romantic relationships and breakups as well as her song writing and creative process. She gives some of the best creativity advice I've ever gotten on the podcast. She talks about the importance of boredom in her creativity and how her focus now is on being present and grateful for exactly where she is.

Beyond Parsley Health, Dr. Robin is a down-to-earth delight, she's a stylish busy mom, and in this episode she not only gives out some of her best wellness advice she also shares what she's learned about entrepreneurship, motherhood, and romantic relationships.

233 | Balancing Full-time jobs with creative projects, Culture & Identity, Natural Hair, Millennial's strengths & weakness, Instagram, body image + way more with Cat Lantigua
I met Cat at The Wing recently and found out we have a lot in common, she also hosts a podcast, wears many hats, and we moved to New York the same month. After I had her over to my apartment a few weeks ago to record this episode, I realized we related to each other in even more ways than I expected. Cat is one of the most creative, driven, and motivated millennials I've ever met and more importantly she's warm, sweet, kind, and a delight to chat with. We talked about embracing natural hair, her Afro-Latina culture and identity including a new project she's starting related to it, and our millennial generation's best and worst tendencies. We got into her great tips for finding balance between creating and consuming social media, how to find time to for personal creative projects with a full time job and still maintaining relationships, self-care, and a life along side all the busy that brings.

230 | Loneliness, Manifesting, Body Image, Law-of- Attraction, and Abundance with Jess Lively
I’ve known Jess Lively for years, we both grew up in Michigan, and our paths overlapped there a few years ago. When we were both living there in 2016 we went to go see an Elizabeth Gilbert lecture about her book Big Magic and after over tacos we chatted for hours. Since then Jess has traveled all over the world in her own very Eat Pray Love-esque adventure and her life as changed so much. On that day we were both in an interesting places and I somehow shared with her off hand about Abraham Hicks over lunch, Jess ended up immersing herself in their work and implementing their concepts, along with many other teachers around the concept of law of attraction, manifestation, neuroscience, consciousness, and much more. She has a unique skill to distill heady esoteric content into practical terms. Most recently she's taken all of her work and created C-School, a live school in Australia where she now lives but is launching online this week. In this episode we talked about Death, loneliness, fear of not having enough time, body image and food, the law of attraction, time scarcity and time abundance, plus so much more. It was a different conversation than anything I was expecting and I loved every second.

229| Purpose, Emotional Trauma, Self-Care vs Narcissism, Spiritual Bypass with Mastin Kipp
I met Mastin Kipp in 2014 at his book signing in Detroit. He told me then to stop consuming his work and the work of other self-help personalities and start focusing on my own creative work. Since then, I've done just that. I've spent less time developing myself and more time being myself as I am, or at least trying to. It was great to reconnect with Mastin and talk about the new direction of his work which is now mainly is focused on helping people go deeper into their emotional trauma and figuring out their purpose when they feel lost. We also talked in this episode about my compulsion of using spirituality and personal growth as "spiritual entertainment" without actually implementing it, we get into comparison, and the thin line between self care and self indulgence, plus he gives some of the best relationship advice I’ve ever received.
