Show Notes at: www.naileditortho.com/intertroch Drew Thomas Sanders, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in trauma surgery to repair ankle and knee injuries; geriatric fractures of the hip, wrist, and shoulder; and fractures around joint replacements. At Tulane University, Dr. Sanders received his medical degree and his master's degree in public health. He did his orthopaedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern and completed etrauma surgery training by fellowships at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute and the University Hospital of Norfolk and Norwich in the United Kingdom. He is an American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Diplomate and a member of the Texas Orthopaedic Association, the Association of Orthopaedic Trauma, and the International Geriatric Fracture Society. He is also the residency program director for UT Southwestern Medical Center Orthopaedic Surgery.

He graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his Carolinas Medical Center internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery. Also, he served on the ABOS board of director and founder of Just cause scrubs. He obtained additional study, completing a fellowship at the University of Chicago in Musculoskeletal Oncology. Dr. Porter has been active with various local and national boards and associations since finishing advanced studies in order to receive a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Currently, he is a member of the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the National Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and the American College of Surgeons. He has been inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association, which is the world's oldest Orthopaedic Surgery Organization, Dr. Porter's interests include the management of cancers of the bone and soft tissue, this involves metastatic disease.

Bitterman, DO is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He is a foot and ankle specialist and has a focus in treating conditions of the lower leg. His clinical interests include arthritis of the foot and ankle, deformity correction, Achilles tendon disorders, and sports-related injuries to the ankle and foot. He is highly skilled in arthroscopic, minimally invasive, and open approaches for various conditions surrounding the lower foot and ankle. Dr. Bitterman is a graduate of Binghamton University and pursued his medical education at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at North Shore-LIJ Plainview Orthopaedic Consortium before graduating from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where he completed his foot and ankle fellowship training. While in Chicago, he worked along side the team physicians for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Additionally, he won the Jorge A. Galante Research Fellow Award for his work on Achilles tendinosis. Adam serves as the co-chair of the Research Committee for the Plainview Hospital Orthopaedic Residency program. His research interests include clinical outcomes after foot and ankle surgery, Achilles tendon pathology, patient comprehension and residency training. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in orthopaedic journals and books chapters in orthopaedic textbooks. Dr. Bitterman has lectured to his peers as well as allied health professionals on various topics involving the lower extremity at local, regional and national meetings.
