BONUS: Before and After the Trailer with Author Mary Marantz

This is one of the best conversations I’ve had this year with the author of one of the best books I’ve read this year. Mary Marantz is a writer, podcaster, speaker, and the author of the book DIRT: Growing Strong Roots in What Makes the Broken Beautiful. I read this memoir after I appeared on Mary’s podcast The Mary Marantz show and I was blown away by her writing and her story. In our conversation, Mary and I talk about our similarities growing up in the country and then choosing to flee from it, only to discover that our roots will always be a part of our soul. There are so many parts of Mary’s story that I relate to, things that I’ve never said out loud and things that I’ve never seen expressed so beautifully. At one point, I get choked up sharing something that I’ve never shared publicly. I hope you’ll enjoy this special conversation. Ep 108: Best Books Lately (with Meredith Monday Schwartz and Kaytee Cobb of the Currently Reading podcast)

Not at all sorry to have two books & reading episodes in a row! Especially because my guests for this Best Books Lately conversation are two of my favorites voices in the book-ish world. Meredith Monday Schwartz and Kaytee Cobb are the two women behind the Currently Reading podcast and I think that you will love their varied recommendations in our conversation. (I contribute almost nothing of value to this episode since my reading habits have been so out-of-whack, however I do talk about a few recent best sellers that just didn’t do it for me.) I hope hearing us talk about what books we’ve loved (or haven’t) so far in 2021 will spark your own conversations or that you share on social media. BONUS: Tremaines Wave Hello from ONE YEAR of the Pandemic

In March of 2020, just three weeks into the global pandemic bringing Los Angeles to a standstill, we recorded a family episode called Ep 59: Marry the Person You Want to Quarantine With (the Tremaines Wave Hello).  And now we're back....only it's been ONE YEAR of the pandemic and we still haven't returned to school or work full time. Our family (me, my husband Jeff, our 11 year old daughter Lucy, and our 9 year old son Finch) returned to the couch and the microphone to talk about the last year has looked like for us.  We used the loose framework and questions from Episode 106: 10 Questions To Mark One Year of the Pandemic to talk about the challenges of joys of the last twelve months.  I hope that our family conversation sparks one of your own, whether you record it or not.  Further listening: Ep 59: Marry the Person You Want To Quarantine With (The Tremaines Wave Hello) Ep 69: 22+ Things We've Watched During Quarantine FULL SHOW NOTES HERE Sponsors: Listenable. Ep 107: 10 Reasons to Read (A conversation with Sara Hildreth of @fictionmatters)

Let’s talk about books that are NOT my book! In the last few months while launching my first book Share Your Stuff. I’ll Go First., my personal reading life has taken a major nosedive. For the first time in years, I’ve been unable to focus on reading any sort of fiction with consistency. But after I had this conversation with Sara Hildreth of @fictionmatters and the Novel Pairings podcast, I suddenly had a renewed interest in my favorite hobby of all time: READING! Sara just brings that out in people. In this conversation, Sara and I each share 5 reasons we read fiction, why it has matters to us personally and how it changes the world. I just loved chatting with her and we could have talked for hours. I hope this episode makes you run to your bookshelves or sparks a great conversation about why reading fiction matters to YOU. This time she's back to talk about anti-aging, but less about products and more about procedures.  Jamie and I share our own experiences with botox, lasers, and filler (yes, filler) in our own faces, because we both wish women would dish on this stuff more often.  You might know Jamie from her popular podcasts The Popcast and the Bible Binge, or from her hilarious social media presence on IG & twitter.  Follow @jamiebgolden on IG Follow @jamiebgolden on twitter FULL SHOW NOTES FOR THIS EPISODE HERE Sponsors: Ritual. Go to Ritual.com/10Things for 10% your first 3 months Noom. Go to Noom.com/10Things for your trial membership * Follow @10ThingsToTellYou on IG Follow @10ThingsToTellYou on FB Follow @laura.tremaine on IG Follow @mslauratremaine on FB Sign Up for episode emails Join the Connection Group Buy Laura's book SHARE YOUR STUFF. BONUS: Moms Don't Have Time To....(with Zibby Owens)

I am super excited to welcome fellow podcaster and fellow February author to the show. Zibby Owens is the podcaster behind the popular show Moms Don't Have Time To Read Books, where she has some of the greatest author interviews.  But now Zibby herself is the author! This week she released Moms Don't Have Time To....A Quarantine Anthology, with essays about not having time to read, work out, eat, have sex, or breathe. All written by some of the fabulous authors that have appeared on her podcast.  Something extra special about the anthology is that all proceeds go to the Susan Felice Owens Program for Covid-19 Vaccine Research at Mount Sinai Health System.  Follow @momsdonthavetimetoreadbooks Buy Moms Don't Have Time To...A Quarantine Anthology FULL SHOW NOTES HERE Sponsor: Thirdlove. Ep 104: Old Friends/New Friends

This supersized episode is actually two conversations:the first with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Kimi Dallman, a bridesmaid in my wedding and childhood friend from summer campandthe second with a new-er mom friend, Tracy Herriott, a friend I've traveled with more in the last four years than anyone else in adulthood besides my husband. Old friends and new friends have different benefits and fill really different spaces in our lives. I wanted to have these conversations with two women who mean a lot to me, and encourage YOU to reach out to the old friends who have been there through every season, and to feel gratitude for the new friends in your life who only know the most current version of yourself. Kimi Dallman founded SwitchMatt Dallman's BBQ is called Live CoalsTracy Herriott posts amazing photos on IGFULL SHOW NOTES HERESponsors:Skillshare.
