He is the founder of Zen Warrior Training, a personal and business development program for high performers, entrepreneurs and creative professionals. Borrowing from the ancient wisdom of Zen and Taoist philosophy, meditation and breathwork practices, Sam trains the high performer how to master the inner workings of the mind, body and spirit and live from a place of deep purpose and resolve in every moment of their lives. A Zen practitioner since 1993, Sam was in a car accident caused by a drunk driver in 1999 which left him paraplegic. Determined not to become the victim of his circumstances, Sam dove deeply into inner mastery practices which helped him to transform his trauma and become a successful entrepreneur, loving husband and expert adaptive skier. Through his unique journey, Sam discovered his soul purpose of Zen Warrior Training.  Sam joins Dan for this episode of the Evryman Podcast to discuss what he cares about more than anything, what he does and where it comes from, and being authentic with yourself. She specializes in helping women prepare for birth, recover from birth injuries and birth trauma, and heal from sexual trauma.  She is the founder of Magamama.com, an international holistic women’s health care resource for expectant and new mothers. She is the author of The Fourth Trimester: A Postpartum Guide to Healing Your Body, Balancing Your Emotions and Restoring Your Vitality published by Shambhala Press in December 2017. She is the creator of Activate your Inner Jaguar, an online course ushering women into their full voices and self-expression. Episode 057: Brendan Leonard of Semi-Rad.com

We're back after a week off! Evryman wrapped up their June expedition in Yellowstone National Park and it was incredible. We're heading back to Yellowstone in August. But this one is different. We'll explain more towards the bottom of this post. This week's guest is one rad dude. Brendan Leonard, creator of Semi-Rad.com sits down with Dan and just lets loose. Brendan is also an author, filmmaker, Instagram cartoonist, and public speaker. He has co-produced and co-directed several award-winning adventure films, including How to Run 100 miles, Chocolate Spokes, Ace and the Desert Dog, Frank and the Tower, and The Important Places. All of these and more can be found on his website. Please check these out, they are multiple great pieces of work. Brendan is a midwest guy like Dan. He changed his major five times in four years and decided that he wanted to be a writer. Brendan shares his journey full of mishaps starting from writing in middle school all the way to grad school in Missoula, Montana and continuing on to today. Episode 053: Long time friend Kris Karuna

"What does it mean to be a man in today's day and age?" Kris Karuna met Dan almost six years ago at a men's group in New York City. Now he sits down with Dan shortly after the recent Joshua Tree retreat in California and their conversation revolves around the transition theme. The early part of the conversation showcases Kris's early work as a Talent Agent and Business Owner in the music industry for nearly two decades. Kris joined UTA (United Talent Agency) after the successful sale of his talent agency Bond Music Group which grew from 13 to 115 artists and has represented award winning artists like Moby, Classixx, The Crystal Method & Roger Sanchez throughout his career. Later in the episode Kris and Dan discuss Kris's transition into a new chapter of life where he's searching for what to do for the rest of his life. How he can use his gifts to make the biggest impact and look back at his life and be proud of it. Currently Kris is a student of Buddhist dharma, meditation, yoga, Kalari Indian Martial Arts, Shaolin Kung Fu, avid surfer and loves most flow activities. He is a founding member of the Brotherhood LA, a group working to elevate emotional consciousness in men. Be on the lookout for more info regarding retreats and trainings coming up later this year.
